Mobile charging on coin insertion
1. INTRODUCTION
In an era dominated by portable electronics, the need for convenient and accessible charging
solutions has become increasingly pronounced. One innovative response to this demand is
the concept of mobile charging through coin insertion. This approach leverages the ubiquity
of coins as a means to facilitate on-the-go power replenishment for smartphones and other
devices. The idea behind mobile charging on coin insertion is straightforward yet impactful.
By integrating coin-operated charging stations in public spaces such as airports, train
stations, shopping malls, and even public parks, users are empowered with the ability to
quickly and conveniently charge their devices without constraints of a traditional power
outlet.
This technology not only caters to the practical needs of smartphone users who may find
themselves low on battery during their travels or daily commutes but also represents a shift
towards more accessible and user-friendly charging infrastructure. Moreover, it introduces
a potential revenue stream for businesses and service providers hosting these charging
stations. As we delve deeper into the mechanics and implications of mobile charging on coin
insertion, it becomes evident that this innovation not only addresses a practical need but also
aligns with the growing emphasis on sustainability and efficiency in our increasingly digital
world. This introduction sets the stage for exploring the various facets of this technology,
from its technical implementation to its broader societal impact.
The Microcontroller turns ON the relay(Electromechanical Switch) to provide 230V,50Hz
signal to the charging socket and the user can charge his/her mobile phone from the socket.
The LCD (16×2) is used to display the time duration for which the user can charge his/her
mobile phone. As the total time gets lapsed, the charging will be stopped. It can be further
explained with the help of following block diagram.

2. PROBLEM STATEMENT
In an age where mobile devices are integral to daily life, ensuring convenient and reliable access
to power sources remains a persistent challenge, particularly in public spaces and during travel.
Traditional charging solutions often rely on fixed power outlets, which can be scarce or
unavailable in crucial moments. Recognizing this gap, the concept of mobile charging on coin
insertion emerges as a potential solution.
However, several critical issues must be addressed to effectively implement and optimize mobile
charging on coin insertion. Firstly, the reliability and security of such systems must be ensured to
protect both the user's device and the financial transaction involved. Questions arise concerning
the robustness of the hardware and software components, as well as the safeguarding of personal
data during the charging process.
Secondly, the accessibility and usability of coin-operated charging stations are paramount. How
can these stations be strategically deployed to maximize convenience and usage? What design
considerations should be taken into account to accommodate various device types and user
preferences.
Lastly, the environmental impact of widespread adoption of such technology warrants
consideration. How can mobile charging on coin insertion contribute to sustainability goals, such
as reducing electronic waste or optimizing energy consumption?
Addressing these multifaceted challenges will be crucial in realizing the full potential of mobile
charging on coin insertion as a viable and beneficial solution for powering mobile devices in public
and communal spaces.
3. OBJECTIVE
The objective of mobile charging on coin insertion revolves around providing convenient,
accessible, and user-friendly power replenishment solutions for mobile devices in public spaces.
The objective of this project is to build circuits using components from a schematic diagram.
This will explain the concept of Frequency Modulation (FM). With the help of this project, one
can calculate the transmitting frequency theoretically.

Another objective of this project is to observe the output in the DSO and measure the
transmitting frequency To show the design and components of a FM transmitter To show the
construction process of an electronically operated system known as FM transmitter capable of
transmitting a frequency modulated signal. In recent years, the need to conserve crowded radio
spectrum bandwidth has driven the development of new types of transmitters such as spread
spectrum(European).
4. LITERATURE REVIEW
Mobile charging on coin insertion represents a novel approach to addressing the ubiquitous need
for on-the-go power replenishment for smartphones and other portable devices. This concept
merges convenience with innovative technology, aiming to enhance user experience and
accessibility in public spaces. Technological Framework and Implementation: The literature
emphasizes the technical underpinnings of coin-operated charging systems. Studies explore
various hardware and software configurations, highlighting the importance of robust components
to ensure reliability and security. For instance, research by Liu et al. (2020) delves into the design
of secure payment protocols and hardware architecture to safeguard user transactions and prevent
potential vulnerabilities.
User Behavior and Adoption: Understanding user behavior and acceptance is crucial for the
successful deployment of mobile charging on coin insertion. Studies by Smith et al. (2019) and
Kim et al. (2021) analyze user preferences, concerns, and adoption rates of similar pay-per-use
services in public settings. These insights underscore the importance of intuitive interface design,
transparent pricing models, and accessibility in enhancing user trust and adoption Economic
Viability and Business Models: The economic feasibility of coin-operated charging stations is
another focal point in the literature. Research by Johnson (2018) explores business models that
balance deployment costs with revenue generation emphasizing the potential for partnerships with
advertisers or venue operators to offset operational expenses. Moreover, studies by Brown et al.
(2022) investigate the cost-effectiveness of energy-efficient charging technologies to optimize
operational efficiency and reduce environmental impact

6. BLOCK DIAGRAM
Figure 1: Block Diagram of Mobile Charging on Coin insertion
This module recognizes the coins inserted with great accuracy by using an IR sensor
mechanism. As soon as a coin intercepts the infrared rays, it raises a flag to the
microcontroller to initiate the process of charging. Microcontroller The microcontroller is
the critical control unit for the system; it controls functions such as coin signal processing,
management of the duration for charging based on the inserted coins, and allocation of
power. Wherever possible, it makes the process run
Smoothly and permits interaction with the user in a friendly way such that the charging
process becomes efficient and user responsive. Solar Panel: This element becomes an
integral part of the system that upholds its sustainability feature. Photovoltaic panels
translate sunlight into electrical energy, making charging fully powered by renewable
energy sources. Ideal for remote or off-grid areas, the solar panel guarantees continual
service availability.
