Lead Java Developer - JD

(Remote Location)

Role: The Lead Java Developer

As the lead Java developer, you will be responsible for working on projects that are
currently being developed. Duties will include, but are not limited to, developing and
directing software system validation and testing methods, as well as directing our
software programming initiatives. You will also be working closely with account managers
and cross-functional departments to communicate project statuses and proposals.

You will be the main interface of the software development teams to the Solution
Architects and the Product Owner for any new development items and would also help
translate the new technology and business requirements to the developers into a software
design that they can relate to.

As a key member of the development team you are also expected to raise any potential
issues or risks (as well as bring ideas for improvement opportunities) in the development
lifecycle to the stakeholders outside of the respective development team.

To perform this job successfully, you must be willing and able to perform each essential
responsibility satisfactorily:

● Have a solid foundation as a Java developer


● Have experience with Spring Boot
● Have 7+ years of experience as a developer in general
● Strong experience designing and developing REST APIs
● Care about writing beautiful and well-structured, correct and testable code
● Have knowledge in DevOps using Docker, Terraform and Kubernetes is a plus
● Want to make a difference to our clients
● Enjoy taking time to sit down and solve hard problems
● Work well with others and have an Agile mindset
● Have good communication skills, including a strong command of the English
language
● Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, independently and in a collaborative
team environment
● Experience using SQL to extract and update data when required
● Experience in hardware peripherals and Network troubleshooting
● Experience with Amazon Web Services and troubleshooting server-related issues in
AWS environments
● Strong organisational skills with ability to multitask and prioritise deadlines in a
fast-paced environment
● Pro-active and eager to learn both independently and from experienced colleagues.
