ultimately leading to his resignation. As per Lampa's accounts cited by the Telegraph,
conservative factions within the Vatican are advocating for the departure of Pope Francis
and have commenced the implementation of their undisclosed strategy. This movement
against the Argentine Pope was set in motion shortly after the passing of his predecessor
Benedict XVI.
Vatican conservatives are planning to weaken the position of the Pope by criticizing him.
They are supposed to do it openly or remain in the shadow. Conservatives in the Vatican
have, for years, opposed Pope Francis's stance on homosexuality, abortion, communion
for divorced people, and celibacy for priests. In their opinion, the Pope also has too
liberal views on the issue of illegal migration.
When Pope Francis announced in December that after his election in 2013 he had signed
a letter of resignation that could be used if his health prevented him from exercising his
ministry, few at the Vatican believed that was a likely scenario. The resignation of Pope
Francis while Benedict XVI was alive would have meant that there would have been
three popes living in the Vatican. Only the death of Joseph Ratzinger made the
resignation of the 86-year-old Pope Francis a real prospect.

goal: to make the pontificate so stressful that Francis will have to resign, the Italian
Cardinal told Lampa newspaper on Sunday. The campaign would consist of a gradual
weakening of the Holy Father and his views. This is said to cause great discontent that
can be used against him. As the Cardinal said, the plan is that some of the Pope's
opponents will openly criticize him while others will act in the shadows.
Francis's opponents know that they are in the minority at the moment, that they will need
time both to gain consensus and to weaken Bergoglio, he said. Cardinal Ganswein, who
served as Pope Benedict XVI's secretary for 19 years, has recently become openly
critical of Pope Francis. In a recent interview with the German newspaper Dages Post, he
expressed disapproval of Francis's decision to restrict the celebration of the traditional
Latin Mass. "Ganswein believes this decision was aimed at deeply affecting Pope
Benedict. Currently, Archbishop Ganswein is working on a forthcoming book titled
'Nothing but the Truth, ' set to be released in bookstores soon. In this publication, he
recounts being shocked and speechless after Pope Francis removed him from the position
of prefect of the papal household in 2020. Ganswein also admitted that his relationship
with Pope Francis lacked a climate of trust.
Joining the ranks of conservatives criticizing Pope Francis are American Cardinal
Raymond Burke, German Cardinal and friend of Pope Benedict Gerhard Ludwig Müller,
and president of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops Archbishop Timothy Broglio.
The significant divide between conservatives and progressives within the Vatican has
been evident for several years. Even Pope Francis's allies are openly acknowledging this
divide.
Speculation about Pope Francis resigning and a new pope being elected has been ongoing
since at least 2012, particularly following the Pope's surgery. Cardinals attending
Benedict XVI's funeral at the Vatican were heard speculating in the corridor about the
possibility of returning to Rome soon for another conclave. As speculation brews about
the possibility of a new pope, various potential candidates have emerged on the horizon,

Among the notable names on this list is Cardinal P. Parolin, often acknowledged as Pope
Francis's closest collaborator, recognized for his diplomatic finesse and discretion within
