Joy by Dior by Dior is a Floral Woody Musk
fragrance for women. Joy by Dior was launched in
2018. The nose behind this fragrance is François
Demachy. Top notes are Bergamot and Mandarin
Orange; middle notes are Jasmine, Grasse Rose,
Peach and Cassis; base notes are White Musk,

interpretation of light. This perfume resembles certain pointillist
paintings that are rich with a precise, yet not too obvious,
technique. It is constructed with multiple nuances, a myriad of
facets that lead to an expression that is clear and self-evident."
The composition’s description by the brand: "Zested Bergamot
and Mandarin explode in unison with flowers. Grasse Rose, in
both Essence and Absolute form, as well as heady Jasmine,
blend with these delectable fruits in a vibrant smile. Warm and
creamy sandalwood embraces us in softness. An intimate
signature, the clear and powdery whisper of musks creates a
tender and sensual skin-on-skin effect."
The bottle is of a simple shape, crystal and soft pink, jewel-like.
The face of the advertising campaign is actress Jennifer
Lawrence.
Dior Joy is available as a 30, 50 and 90 ml Eau de Parfum with an
accompanying scented body lotion.

I tried this when it first came out and I
tried it again today, including the intense
version. It’s a blend that doesn’t sit well
on my skin. I get the feeling that with
different skin properties it might have
more warmth but on me, it’s cool and
metallic and very generic.
Edit - two days later, I can still smell it on
my coat sleeves. Initially it was strong
and harsh but now I can detect the
softness and powdery notes. This, I like,
but I am not sure how to get through the
very long lasting and harsh beginning. I
think it’s my very dry skin that is the
problem!

Joy is so pretty and a safe blind buy
from Dior, especially if you are just
getting into Dior perfumes and
overwhelmed on which ones to try first.
It's sweet, floral and woodsy. It's perfect
for everyday and all year around.

Dior Joy is like the “pilates princess”
sister of Miss Dior Blooming Boquet, it’s
still got that sweet and charming
essence whilst being less powdery and
musky making it more suitable for busy
day to day wear while still maintaining an
air of poise.

Over my fragrance buying journey, I feel
like I have finally found my niche and
that is definitely clean, fresh, feminine
scents. And this one definitely ticks
those boxes. Its hard to overspray this
and doesn’t have a lot of projection. It
stays close to the skin. I can detect a
creamy or suncream note, I don’t know if
that’s just me.

this opens as a peachy musk and
instantly reminds me of 90s style
perfumes, except more synthetic made
with modern components. next comes
sandalwood and benzoin. a lot of
benzoin. it's very warm and creamy. then
after maybe 20 minutes i get some
woods and rose. i am stunned people
vote jasmine the highest, it's there but
subtle and i find that the
peach/rose/benzoin are much much
more prominent.

It`s mostly just a powdery and soapy
fragrance. It`s ok, nothing ground
breaking. One thing good about it, is that
it can be worn by any age. The bottle is
beautiful. It smells sophisticated and
doesn`t go into the 'old perfumey?'
category. It`s ok, but not something I find
worth purchasing.

The citrus opening was uninspiring, but
as it dried down, it started to turn
powdery and musky, but still stayed
fresh. It's not an unpleasant fragrance. It
would make a good easy-to-reach for
daily spring/ summer scent.
Addendum: I am a lover of two Jean
Patou fragrances- Sublime and
Vacances, and if the rumours are true
that Jean Patou fragrances were
discontinued by LVMH to make way for
the 'Joy' trademark to be used under
Dior, then it was a costly, erroneous
decision. That Joy, even reformulated,
was better in spades to this uninspiring
musk.

I really don't understand the hate this
perfume gets.
I find it perfect for people that like musky
scents as well as floral, and the citrus?
Perfect mix.
I don't know, I remember smelling it
when it first came out and I was like wow
I need this in my life.
I wear it in the summer as to my nose it's
soapy, fresh out of the shower, flowery
expensive soap only a girly girl would
like.

I don't have strong opinions on this
either way. It's a powdery floral with
citrus on top. The patchouli is super
super clean(if it's even really there). Not
interesting, but not bad by any means. I
see reviewers saying this is identical to
Jimmy Choo by Jimmy Choo????? I
don't feel like these frags have anything
in common. JC is a thick, sickly sweet
patchouli scent... to me they are polar
opposites.
