Deliverance Day Guide Book

By Robert Alderman, Founder

The Catholic Centurion

Step 1: Praise & Thanksgiving

Worship & Invitational Prayers

†In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Shout joyfully to the Lord, all you lands;

serve the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful song.
Know that the Lord is God,
He made us, we belong to him,
we are his people, the flock he shepherds.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
His courts with praise.
Give thanks to him, bless his name;
good indeed is the Lord,
His mercy endures forever,
His faithfulness lasts through every generation. (Psalms 100:1-5)

Come, let us sing joyfully to the Lord;

cry out to the rock of our salvation.
Let us come before Him with a song of praise,
joyfully sing out our psalms.
For the Lord is the great God,
the great king over all gods,
whose hand holds the depths of the Earth;
who owns the tops of the mountains.
The sea and dry land belong to God,
who made them, formed them by hand. (Psalms 95:1-5)

The Lord is my strength and my shield,

in whom my heart trusts.
I am helped, so my heart rejoices;
with my song I praise Him. (Psalms 28:7)

In danger I called on the Lord;

the Lord answered me and set me free. (Psalms 118:5)

The Lord is with me as my helper;

I shall look in triumph on my foes. (Psalms 118:7)

I will bless the Lord at all times;

His praise shall be always in my mouth.
My soul will glory in the Lord;
let the poor hear and be glad.
Magnify the Lord with me;
and let us exalt His name together. (Psalms 34:2-4)

All the nations surrounded me;

in the Lord’s name I cut them off.
They surrounded me on every side;
in the Lord’s name I cut them off.

Prayers assembled by The Catholic Centurion website: www.catholiccenturion.com 1

They surrounded me like bees;
they burned up like fire among thorns;
in the Lord’s name I cut them off.
I was hard pressed and falling,
but the Lord came to my help.
The Lord, my strength and might,
He has become my Savior.
The joyful shout of deliverance
is heard in the tents of the righteous:
“The Lord’s right hand works valiantly;
the Lord’s right hand is raised;
the Lord’s right hand works valiantly.”
I shall not die but live
and declare the deeds of the Lord.
The Lord chastised me harshly,
but did not hand me over to death. (Psalms 118:10-18)

May the Lord answer you in times of distress;

the name of the God of Jacob defend you!
May He send you help from the sanctuary,
from Zion be your support.
May He remember your every offering,
graciously accept your burnt offering.
Grant what is in your heart,
fulfill your every plan!
May we shout for joy at your victory,
raise the banners in the name of our God.
The Lord grant your every petition! (Psalms 20:1-6)

You are my God, I give you thanks;

my God, I offer you praise.
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good,
His mercy endures forever. (Psalms 118:28-29)

†In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Scriptural Reading: Do not be anxious, for the Lord is near!

A reading from the letter of St. Paul to the Philippians (4:4-7):

“Rejoice in the Lord always. I shall say it again: rejoice! ... The Lord is near. Have no anxiety at all, but in
everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God
that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”

The Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God.

Step 2: Dressing for Battle
Let us now profess our faith together and recite our baptismal vows.

Profession of Faith
I believe in God,
the Father almighty,
Creator of Heaven and Earth,
and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended into hell;
on the third day he rose again from the dead;
he ascended into Heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of the Father;
from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Holy Catholic Church,
the communion of Saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting. Amen.

Recitation of Baptismal Vows

V. Do you renounce sin, so as to live in the freedom of the children of God?
℟. I do.
V. Do you renounce the lure of evil, so that sin may have no mastery over you?
℟. I do.
V. Do you renounce Satan, the author and prince of sin?
℟. I do.
V. Do you believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and Earth?
℟. I do.
V. Do you believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was born of the Virgin Mary, suffered death and was
buried, rose again from the dead and is seated at the right hand of the Father?
℟. I do.
V. Do you believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting?
℟. I do.
V. And may almighty God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has given us new birth by water and the Holy
Spirit and bestowed on us forgiveness of our sins, keep us by his grace, in Christ Jesus our Lord, for eternal life.
℟. Amen.

Prayer of Humility
Now, brothers and sisters in Christ, let us humble ourselves before the Lord, for, as St. John Vianney once said,
“Who can contemplate the immensity of a God without humbling himself into the dust at the thought that God
created Heaven out of nothing, and that with one word he could turn Heaven and Earth into nothing again? A God
who is so great, and whose power is boundless; a God filled with every perfection; a God with his never-ending
eternity, his great justice, his providence, who rules everything so wisely, and looks after everything with such care,
and we a mere nothing!” Let us humble ourselves, that His Almighty power will be made perfect in our weakness,
that the Lord will lay bare his mighty arm in the sight of all the nations, and all the ends of the Earth will see the
salvation of our God.

The Litany of Humility

O Jesus! meek and humble of heart, Hear me.

†In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Preliminary Prayers of Abandonment

Now, brothers and sisters in Christ, let us abandon ourselves to the Divine Providence and Will of God Almighty,
for we must trust our Lord completely. We must trust in His perfect timing.

Father, I abandon myself into your hands;

do with me what you will.
Whatever you may do, I thank you:
I am ready for all, I accept all.
Let only your will be done in me,
and in all your creatures—
I wish no more than this, O Lord.
Into your hands I commend my soul:
I offer it to you with all the love of my heart,
for I love you, Lord, and so need to give myself,
to surrender myself into your hands without reserve,
and with boundless confidence,
for you are my Father. Amen.
—Charles de Foucauld

O my God, I thank you and I praise you

for accomplishing your holy and all-lovable will

Prayers assembled by The Catholic Centurion website: www.catholiccenturion.com 4

without any regard for mine.
With my whole heart, in spite of my heart,
do I receive this cross I feared so much!

It is the cross of Your choice, the cross of Your love.

I venerate it;
nor for anything in the world
would I wish that it had not come,
since You willed it.

I keep it with gratitude and with joy,

as I do everything that comes from Your hand;
and I shall strive to carry it without letting it drag,
with all the respect
and all the affection which Your works deserve. Amen.
—St. Francis De Sales

Litany of Abandonment to God

Lord Jesus, enlighten my heart and mind by Your Holy Spirit.
Lord Jesus, teach me to be patient when I pray.
Lord Jesus, teach me to pray well.
Lord Jesus, teach me to have more faith in You.
Lord Jesus, teach me to be more abandoned to You.
Lord Jesus, I pray for Your blessing.
Lord Jesus, I pray for Your grace.
Lord Jesus, I pray for Your mercy.
Lord Jesus, I pray for Your forgiveness.
Lord Jesus, teach me to have the will to love my neighbors.
Lord Jesus, teach me to have the will to forgive my neighbors.
Lord Jesus, I long for You.
Lord Jesus, I love You.
Lord Jesus, come to me, I welcome You.
Lord Jesus, I abandon myself to You.
O Lord Almighty, at this moment, I commend my spirit to You.
O Lord Almighty, at this moment, I commend my spirit to You.
O Lord Almighty, at this moment, I commend my spirit to You.
For the Earth belongs to You, and I am Your creation.
For the Earth belongs to You, and I am Your creation.
For the Earth belongs to You, and I am Your creation.

†In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Resignation to God’s Divine Will

Oh, sovereign goodness of the sovereign Providence of my God! I abandon myself forever to Your arms. Whether
gentle or severe, lead me wherever You will; I will not regard the way through which You will have me pass, but
keep my eyes fixed upon You, my God, who guides me. My soul finds no rest without the arms and the bosom of
this Heavenly Providence, my true Mother, my strength and my shield.

Therefore, I resolve with Your Divine assistance, oh my Savior, to follow Your desires and Your decrees, without
regarding or examining why You do this rather than that; but I will blindly follow You according to Your Divine
will, without seeking my own inclinations.

So, I am determined to leave all to You, taking no part therein save by keeping myself in peace in Your arms,
desiring nothing except as You incite me to desire, to will, to wish. I offer You this desire, oh my God, beseeching
You to bless it; I undertake all it includes, relying on Your goodness, liberality, and mercy, with entire confidence
in You, distrust of myself, and knowledge of my infinite misery and infirmity.

†In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Prayer of Surrender to the Holy Spirit

Oh, Merciful Father, I pray and give you thanks in these, our circumstances, for this is the will of God for us in
Christ Jesus, and we know that all things work for good for those who love God and who are called according to His
purpose! How we love you, oh God! Help us not to quench your Holy Spirit now, but to open our hearts and
surrender to Him entirely. Help us that we might not become discouraged, that we do not lose heart, for this
momentary and light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison. Send Your
Holy Spirit, that He might come to the aid of our weakness, for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but He
intercedes perfectly on our behalf with inexpressible groanings, and the One who searches every heart knows the
Spirit’s intentions! Through Jesus Christ, Our Lord, who lives and reigns forever and ever.

†In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Prayer for Filling of the Holy Spirit

Lord Jesus Christ, we want to belong to You from now on. We want to be free from the dominion of darkness and
the rule of Satan. We want to enter into Your Kingdom and be part of Your people. We will turn away from all
sin, and we will avoid everything that leads us to wrongdoing. We ask You to forgive all the sins we have
committed. Come into our hearts as our personal Savior and Lord. We offer our lives to You, and we promise to
obey You as our Lord and Master. We ask You to fill us with Your Holy Spirit. Amen.

Prayer for the Armor of God

Heavenly Father, we ask You today for Your truth, as a belt tight around our waists.
We put on the zeal, to announce Your good news of peace, as shoes for our feet.
We put on Your righteousness, O Christ, as our breastplate.
And the hope of salvation, as a helmet for our head.
Father we take up faith, as a shield which is able to put out all the fiery darts of the Evil One.
And the sword of the Spirit, which is Your Word, O Lord.
Father, may the love with which You have loved Jesus, be in us and may Jesus be in us. We ask You for the grace of
a servant’s heart. Amen.

Prayer of Victory in Christ

Brothers and sisters, let us claim our victory in Christ!

Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the
Heavens and the Earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and you are exalted as head above all! The horse
is made ready for the day of battle, but the victory belongs to God alone, who gives us this victory through our
Lord Jesus Christ! For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has
overcome it—our faith!

†In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Step 3: Prayers for Protection
Prayer for Protection to Saint Gordius, Patron Saint of The Catholic Centurion Website
O Heavenly Patron, in whose name I glory, pray ever to God for us: strengthen us in our faith; establish us in virtue;
guard us in the conflict; that we may vanquish the foe malign and attain to glory everlasting. Amen.

Inflamed with zeal for the faith, of thine own free will thou didst hasten to the stadium and rejoice in the contest
there. Thou didst quench the flames of evil in the streams of thy blood by beheading, O Champion; wherefore the
Life-giver has glorified thee, O Gordius.

Having quite the material army, and being mightily armed in a heavenly way, you overpowered the opposition in
battle, as an armed soldier of Christ, glorious Gordius.

The whole earth hast thou watered with thy sweat and toils, O glorious one, and hast made all the world glad with
thy precious blood, O godly-minded Gordius. By thine earnest entreaties, O famed Martyr, save all them that sing
thy praise in faith and worthily revere thee as one that hath truly suffered much.

Glorious Saint Gordius, you served God in humility and confidence on earth. Now you enjoy His beatific vision in
heaven. You persevered till death and gained the crown of eternal life. Remember now the dangers and confusion
and anguish that surround us. Intercede for me and for those partaking in this deliverance—in our needs and in our
troubles, especially in this deliverance, that we may all be delivered from the Evil One and his influence. Amen.

Hedge Prayer for Protection

Trusting in the promise that whatever we ask the Father in Jesus’ name He will do, we now approach You Father
with confidence in Our Lord’s words and in Your infinite power and love for us and for our household, family, and
sphere of influence, and with the intercessions of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, Blessed Michael the
Archangel, Blessed Apostles Peter and Paul, Padre Pio of Pietrelcina, Gordius, Dymphna, Benedict of Nursia,
Bruno, Rita of Cascia, Lucian, Marcian, Margaret of Fontana, Quirinus of Sescia, Ubaldo Baldassini, Lucy Bufalari,
Teresa of Avila, Bernadette of Lourdes, Agrippina of Rome, Amabilis of Auvergne, Andrew of Segni, Columba of
Rieti, Cyriacus the Martyr, Demetrius of Sermium, Denis of Paris, Dionysius the Aeropagite, Margaret of Antioch,
Peter the Exorcist, and Vincent de Paul, of our Patron Saints and our Guardian Angels, and all the Saints and Angels
of Heaven, and powerful in the holy authority of the blessed Name of our Lord Jesus Christ, we ask you Father to
protect and keep us and our entire sphere of influence from the harassment of the Devil and his minions, from his
power, kingdom, and authority: our entire household and family, our spirits, souls, bodies, hearts, minds, and wills;
our marriages, children, parents, siblings, friendships, coworkers, acquaintances, students, and house pets; our
clergy, diocese, parish, ministries, homes, schools, businesses, workplaces, places of recreation, finances, and
possessions; our transportation, or any vehicle that could come close to us, or any decision that is made concerning
any one of us; our technology as we conduct this deliverance; and finally, our personal intentions.

Father, we ask in desire to serve You and adore You and to live our lives for You that You build a hedge of
protection around our household and entire sphere of influence, like that which surrounded Job, and to help us to
keep that hedge repaired and the gate locked so that the Devil and his minions have no access or means to breach the
hedge except by your expressed will. Heal us, oh Lord, from all afflictions that despair our souls.

Father, we are powerless against the spiritual forces of evil and recognize our utter dependence on You and Your
power. Look with mercy upon us and upon our households and families. Do not look upon our sins, O Lord; rather,
look at the sufferings of your Beloved Son and see the Victim whose bitter passion and death has reconciled us to
You. By the victory of the cross, protect us from all evil and rebuke any evil spirits who wish to attack, influence, or
breach Your hedge of protection in any way. Send them immediately and quietly back to Hell and fortify Your
Hedge for our protection by the blood of Your Son, Jesus. Remove from our lives all evil entities and influences that
we may experience fully the Victory and Freedom found in your Son, Jesus Christ. Heal our souls; bring peace and
comfort to us. Send your Holy Angels to watch over us and protect us.

Father, all of these things we ask in the Most Holy Name of Jesus Christ, Your Son. Thank you, Father, for hearing
our prayer. We love You, we worship You, we thank You, and we trust in You. Amen.

A Spiritual Warrior’s Prayer
Adapted by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OMSM(r) from the Prayer of General George S. Patton
Almighty and most merciful Father, we humbly beseech Thee, of Thy great goodness, to restrain the forces that
would seek our destruction. Grant us the courage and wisdom to do Battle for Thy greater glory and not for our own.
Graciously hearken to us as Thy soldiers who call upon Thee, that armed with Thy power and love and with the
Sword of Thy Spirit, we may advance from victory to victory and crush the oppression and wickedness of our
enemies. With our Blessed Mother help us oh Lord to crush the head of Satan and to establish Thy justice and love
among men and nations. Amen.

Prayer for Protection to the Blessed Virgin Mary

Most gracious Virgin Mary, thou who wouldst crush the head of the serpent, protect us from the vengeance of the
Evil One. We offer our prayers, supplications, sufferings, and good works to thee so that thou may purify them,
sanctify them, and present them to thy Son as a perfect offering. May this offering be given so that the demons that
influence or seek to influence anyone participating in this deliverance, or their families, do not know the source of
their expulsion and blindness. Blind them so that they know not our good works. Blind them so that they know not
on whom to take vengeance. Blind them so that they may receive the just sentence for their works. Cover us with the
Precious Blood of thy Son so that we may enjoy the protection which flows from His Passion and Death.

†In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Memorare
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored
thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of
virgins, my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. We ask this through the same Christ our Lord.

†In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Prayer for Protection to Saint Michael the Archangel

O Glorious Prince of the Heavenly host, St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in the battle and in the terrible warfare
that we are waging against the principalities and powers, against the rulers of this world of darkness, against the evil
spirits. Come to the aid of man, whom Almighty God created immortal, made in His own image and likeness, and
redeemed at a great price from the tyranny of Satan.

Fight this day the battle of the Lord, together with the Holy Angels, as already thou hast fought the leader of the
proud angels, Lucifer, and his apostate host, who were powerless to resist thee, nor was there place for them any
longer in Heaven. That cruel, ancient serpent, who is called the Devil or Satan who seduces the whole world, was
cast into the abyss with his angels. Behold, this primeval enemy and slayer of men has taken courage. Transformed
into an angel of light, he wanders about with all the multitude of wicked spirits, invading the Earth in order to blot
out the name of God and of His Christ, to seize upon, slay and cast into eternal perdition souls destined for the
crown of eternal glory. This wicked dragon pours out, as a most impure flood, the venom of his malice on men of
depraved mind and corrupt heart, the spirit of lying, of impiety, of blasphemy, and the pestilent breath of impurity,
and of every vice and iniquity.

These most crafty enemies have filled and inebriated with gall and bitterness the Church, the spouse of the
immaculate Lamb, and have laid impious hands on her most sacred possessions. In the Holy Place itself, where the
See of Holy Peter and the Chair of Truth has been set up as the light of the world, they have raised the throne of
their abominable impiety, with the iniquitous design that when the Pastor has been struck, the sheep may be also.

Arise then, O invincible Prince, bring help against the attacks of the lost spirits to the people of God, and give them
the victory. They venerate thee as their protector and patron; in thee Holy Church glories as her defense against the
malicious power of hell; to thee has God entrusted the souls of men to be established in Heavenly beatitude. Oh,
pray to the God of peace that He may put Satan under our feet, so far conquered that he may no longer be able to
hold men in captivity and harm the Church. Offer our prayers in the sight of the Most High, so that they may quickly
find mercy in the sight of the Lord; and vanquishing the dragon, the ancient serpent, who is the Devil and Satan, do
thou again make him captive in the abyss, that he may no longer seduce the nations.

V. Behold the Cross of the Lord; be scattered ye hostile powers.
℟. The Lion of the tribe of Judah, the root of David, has conquered.
V. Let Thy mercies be upon us, O Lord.
℟. As we have hoped in Thee.
V. O Lord, hear my prayer.
℟. And let my cry come unto Thee.

Let us pray. O God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, we call upon Thy Holy Name, and as supplicants, we
implore Thy clemency, that by the intercession of Mary, ever Virgin Immaculate and our Mother, and of the
glorious St. Michael the Archangel, Thou wouldst deign to help us against Satan and all the other unclean spirits
who wander about the world for the injury of the human race and the ruin of souls.

†In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Final Prayers for Protection

Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on Earth as it is in
Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against
us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy
womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit! As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall
be, world without end. Amen.

Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom his love commits me here, ever this day be at my side, to light and
guard, to rule and guide. Amen.

Step 4: Renunciations & Reclamation
We are now ready for battle. Take out your homework packet. We are going to say the prayers of renunciation, to
ask the Lord to break Satan’s hold over every stronghold or area of bondage that may exist in our lives. Like every
other prayer we have said today, I want you to pray these aloud because you need to hear that the legal right the
Devil has in your life is broken by the power of God. (If you experience any problems while praying these
renunciation prayers, please ask for the deliverance leader’s help. Note when it happened, if possible, as that may
help the deliverance leader isolate the issue when he prays over you.)

#1. Renouncing Unforgiveness

First, you should pull out homework list #1 (unforgiveness). Repeat the first line of this prayer for each person on
that first homework list. Then finish saying aloud the remainder.

In the name of Jesus Christ, I forgive (person’s name) for (what they did to you). I renounce any hold that Satan
has on my life because of my lack of forgiveness. Oh, Merciful Father, I ask in the name of Jesus Christ that you
would release me from this bondage and make me a vessel of Your perfect love. “For if you forgive other people
when they sin against you, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you.” I must “Bear with each other and
forgive one another if [I have] a grievance against someone.” I must “Forgive as the Lord forgave [me].” For
when St. Peter asked, “Lord, if my brother sins against me, how often must I forgive him? As many as seven
times?” You answered him, “I say to you, not seven times but seventy-seven times.” I must remember, oh Lord,
that you “forgave [me] my entire debt [of sin] because [I] begged you to. Should [I] not have had pity on [others],
as You had pity on [me]?” Help me to forgive these people, oh Lord. Please remove all evil spirits attached to me
because of my unforgiveness towards these individuals and free me from all influence of the demonic realm in
my life. Send your Holy Angels to seize every demon and vanquish them to the foot of your cross, that they might
receive your immediate judgment. Thank you, Lord, for hearing my prayer! †In the name of the Father and of
the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

#2. Renouncing Judgments

Next, you should pull out homework list #2 (judgments). Repeat the first line of this prayer for each person on that
second homework list. Then finish saying aloud the remainder.

In the name of Jesus Christ, I renounce and release any judgments I have rendered against (person’s name) for
(what they did). I renounce any hold that Satan has on my life because of these judgments. Oh, Merciful Father,
I ask in the name of Jesus Christ that you would release me from this bondage and teach me how to drop every
rock of judgment in my hands that I desired to stone others with. You and You alone, oh Lord, are the Rock of
Judgment, and I put my trust in Your perfect justice and unfathomable mercy. For it is written: “Do not judge,
and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.”
I now ask, oh Lord, that you would remove all evil spirits attached to me because of these judgments I held
towards these individuals and that you would free me from all influence of the demonic realm in my life. Send
your Holy Angels to seize every demon and vanquish them to the foot of your cross, that they might receive your
immediate judgment. †In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

#3. Renouncing the Occult

Next, you should pull out homework list #3 (occult activities and non-Christian practices) and pray the following:

In the name of Jesus Christ, I renounce the following occult activities and non-Christian practices which I have
willfully participated in during the course of my life: (recite your entire list). Forgive me, oh Lord, for having
committed these grave and detestable sins! For they are an abomination before Your righteous eyes, oh
Sovereign Lord. I renounce any hold that Satan has on my life because of these sinful actions. Oh, Merciful
Father, I ask in the name of Jesus Christ that you would release me from this bondage and that you would please
remove all evil spirits attached to me because of these wicked practices. Free me from all influence of the
demonic realm in my life. Send your Holy Angels to seize every demon and vanquish them to the foot of your
cross, that they might receive your immediate judgment. †In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the
Holy Spirit. Amen.

If you have participated in Satanic rituals (willingly or unwillingly), pray the following:

Prayers assembled by The Catholic Centurion website: www.catholiccenturion.com 10

In the name of Jesus Christ, I fully renounce ever having participated willingly or unwillingly in any Satanic
ritual or practice of any kind during my life. I renounce ever having signed my name over in any way to Satan, or
ever having my name signed over to Satan for me. I renounce any ceremony where I may have been wed or
consecrated to Satan. I renounce any and all covenants or pacts with Satan that I made myself, or that were made
for me. I renounce ever giving my blood, or having my blood taken without my consent, in the service of the
kingdom of darkness. I renounce ever eating human flesh or blood for Satanic worship. And I renounce any and
all guardians and Satanic parents that were assigned to me.

Oh Lord, hear my prayer! Deliver me from my foes, for they are too great for me to defeat alone! I announce in
your Divine hearing, oh Sovereign God, that my name is written in the Book of Life, that I am the Bride of Christ
and a partaker of His New Covenant, that I trust and partake only in the shed blood of my Lord, Jesus Christ,
through the Sacrament of the Most Holy Eucharist. God is my Father, the Lord Jesus is my King and Savior, the
Holy Spirit is my Guardian by which I am sealed, and the Virgin Mary is my Blessed Mother and Queen! (I also
renounce the following Satanic practices I participated in willingly or unwillingly: recite your list, if it differs
from what has already been renounced above.)

Forgive me, oh Lord, for having committed these grave and detestable sins! For they are an abomination before
Your righteous eyes, oh Sovereign Lord. I renounce any hold that Satan has on my life because of these sinful
actions. I renounce any hold that Satan has on my life because of the sins and Satanic rituals that may have been
imposed upon me without my consent! Oh, Merciful Father, I ask in the name of Jesus Christ that you would
release me from this terrible bondage and that you would please remove all evil spirits attached to me because of
these wicked practices. Free me from all influence of the demonic realm in my life. Send your Holy Angels to
seize every demon and vanquish them to the foot of your cross, that they might receive your immediate judgment.
†In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

#4. Renouncing Sexual Sin

Next, you should pull out homework list #4 (sexual sin). For each person on that list, pray the following:

In the name of Jesus Christ, I renounce any legal right that Satan has to me because of the sexual sins I
committed with (name each person on your list). I repent of the impurity, sexual sin, and debauchery in which I
have indulged! Thoroughly wash away my guilt, and from my sin cleanse me! For you have said in your Word,
oh Lord, “Their sins and their evildoing I will remember no more.” Put my willful sins, the sins of my youth, as
far away from your eyes as the east is from the west! Oh, Merciful Father, I ask that you would release me from
this bondage and that you would please remove all evil spirits attached to me because of my sexual sins. Free me
from all influence of the demonic realm in my life. Send your Holy Angels to seize every demon and vanquish
them to the foot of your cross, that they might receive your immediate judgment. †In the name of the Father and
of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

#5. Renouncing Broken Promises

Next, you should pull out homework list #5 (broken contracts, covenants, oaths, and vows) and pray the following:

In the name of Jesus Christ, I renounce any legal right that Satan has to me because of the following covenants,
oaths, and vows that I willfully broke and failed to keep during the course of my life: (recite your entire list). Oh
Lord, help me going forward to always keep my word, for in the one who does this is the love of God truly
perfected, and by this, others may know that I am in Him! Let my mouth, oh Sovereign King, never lead me into
sin, for as it is written: “When you make a vow to the Lord, your God, you shall not delay in fulfilling it; for the
Lord, your God, will surely require it of you and you will be held guilty… But whatever your tongue utters you
must be careful to do, just as you freely vowed to the Lord, your God, with your own mouth.” Oh, Merciful
Father, I ask that you would release me from all bondage due to my broken words and that you would please
remove all evil spirits attached to me because of my carelessness. Free me from all influence of the demonic
realm in my life. Send your Holy Angels to seize every demon and vanquish them to the foot of your cross, that
they might receive your immediate judgment. †In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

#6. Renouncing Pride
Next, you should pull out homework list #6 (pride) and pray the following:

In the name of Jesus Christ, I renounce the sin of pride, which the Catechism defines as “an inordinate self-
esteem or self-love” that “seeks attention and honor and sets oneself in competition with God.” I renounce all
arrogance, boastfulness, competitiveness, conceit, egotism, self-centeredness, self-glorification, self-
righteousness, selfishness, vainglory, and vanity. I renounce any time that I have set myself internally or
externally against the Magisterium and the teaching authority of the Church, as if I know better than God. For
the Lord opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble! When pride comes, then also comes disgrace! But
with humility comes wisdom. Fill my heart with it! For there is more hope for a fool than for a person who is
wise in his own eyes! So let me do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but rather, in righteous
humility, let me value others above myself!

Specifically, I renounce the following things that I have been prideful of in my life: (recite your entire list). Pride
goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall! Better to be lowly in spirit along with the oppressed than to
share plunder with the proud! For the Lord detests all the proud of heart. As it is written, we should “be sure of
this: they will not go unpunished.”

Oh, Merciful Father, I ask that you would release me from all bondage due to my pride and that you would
please remove all evil spirits attached to me because of it. Free me from all influence of the demonic realm in my
life. Send your Holy Angels to seize every demon and vanquish them to the foot of your cross, that they might
receive your immediate judgment. †In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

#7. Renouncing Rebellion

Next, you should pull out homework list #7 (rebellion) and pray the following:

In the name of Jesus Christ, I renounce all rebellion in my life: (recite your entire list). For it is written in the
first book of Samuel that “rebellion is like the sin of divination,” and the Catechism defines divination as
“recourse to (or asking the help of) Satan or demons.” Only the wicked pursue rebellion! A merciless messenger
is sent against them, and they dwell in a parched land, in a desert! Oh Lord, let me be subordinate to the higher
authorities in my life, for there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been established by
God. Therefore, whoever resists authority opposes what God has appointed, and those who oppose it will bring
judgment upon themselves. And the Lord Himself said, “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” Let
me be like our Blessed Mother, who when the Archangel Gabriel approached her, humbly submitted to God’s
will! Foster the virtue of obedience in my heart, oh Sovereign God! For “a single instant passed under simple
obedience is immeasurably more valuable in the sight of God than an entire day spent in the most sublime
contemplation.”

Merciful Father, I ask that you would release me from all bondage due to my rebellion and that you would please
remove all evil spirits attached to me because of it. Free me from all influence of the demonic realm in my life.
Send your Holy Angels to seize every demon and vanquish them to the foot of your cross, that they might receive
your immediate judgment. †In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

#8. Renouncing Thinking Errors, Self-Deceptions, and Self-Defense Behaviors

Next, you should pull out homework list #8 (thinking errors, self-deceptions, and self-defense behaviors). But before
we renounce the items on that list, we should pray the following:

Thank You Lord for what I am in Christ. Help me to realize all that I am so that I may glorify you in all the ways of
my life. Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father. I know that you desire truth in the inner self and that facing this truth is the way of
liberation (John 8:32). I acknowledge that I have been deceived by the father of lies (John 8:44) and that I have
deceived myself (1 John 1:8). I pray in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, strengthened by the intercessions of
the Immaculate Virgin Mary, Mother of God, Blessed Michael the Archangel, Blessed Apostles Peter and Paul,
Padre Pio of Pietrelcina, Gordius, Dymphna, Benedict of Nursia, Bruno, Rita of Cascia, Lucian, Marcian,
Margaret of Fontana, Quirinus of Sescia, Ubaldo Baldassini, Lucy Bufalari, Teresa of Avila, Bernadette of
Lourdes, Agrippina of Rome, Amabilis of Auvergne, Andrew of Segni, Columba of Rieti, Cyriacus the Martyr,
Demetrius of Sermium, Denis of Paris, Dionysius the Aeropagite, Margaret of Antioch, Peter the Exorcist, and
Vincent de Paul, of my Patron Saint and my Guardian Angel, and all the Saints and Angels of Heaven, and
powerful in the holy authority of His blessed Name, that you, heavenly Father, will rebuke all deceiving spirits by
virtue of the shed blood and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.

And since by faith I have received you into my life and am now seated with Christ in the heavenlies (Ephesians
2:6), I renounce the following thinking errors, self-deceptions, and self-defense behaviors that I have been
deceived by throughout my earthly days: (recite your entire list). I renounce any hold that these lies have had
over me. I renounce any bondage. Forgive me, oh Lord, for straying from the Truth. Like Pontius Pilate before
me, who asked you face-to-face, “What is truth?” even as he stared Truth right in the eyes, my own ego and pride
and self-centeredness have kept me focused on self-deceptions and lies instead of the One who stands before me!
You are the Truth, oh Lord! You speak the truth! You, and you alone, declare what is right! Help me to know the
Truth, oh Lord, for it shall set me free! For it is written: woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put
darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! I commit myself to know
You and to follow Your Truth from now on, O Sovereign Lord.

I ask you now to “search me, O God, and know my heart: try me and know my anxious thoughts; and see if there
be any hurtful way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way.” I ask in the name of Jesus Christ that you would
release me from these thinking errors and self-defense behaviors and that you would please remove all evil spirits
attached to me because of these deceptions in my life. I break all agreements that I have made with the enemy of
my soul concerning myself. I am not who Satan says I am, nor am I who others (or even myself) have said that I
am! I ask you Father to command all deceiving spirits to depart from me. Oh, Merciful King, who rules from the
holy mountain of Zion, hear my prayer! Free me from all influence of the demonic realm in my life because of
any and all deceptions or thinking errors. In the name of Jesus Christ, send your Holy Angels to seize every
demon and vanquish them to the foot of your cross, that they might receive your immediate judgment. †In the
name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

#9. Sins/Traumas Perpetrated on Me by Others or through Events

Next, you should pull out homework list #9 (sins/traumas perpetrated on me) and pray the following:

In the name of Jesus Christ, I renounce any legal rights that the demonic kingdom may have over me because of
any sinful, harmful, traumatic, or criminal act that was perpetrated on me by another person or through a
traumatic event during my life: (recite your entire list of controlling or manipulative or abusive relationships,
molestations, rapes, or other traumas that you have suffered). I know, oh Lord, that all things work for good for
those who love God, who are called according to his purpose! And I forgive those who have trespassed against
me. And even though I have walked through the valley of the shadow of death, I know that you are always with
me; you restore my soul; to still waters, Lord, you lead me. Please free me, oh Merciful Father, from all demonic
influence that might exist in my life because of what others have done to me, knowingly or unknowingly. Please

send your Holy Angels to seize every demon and vanquish them to the foot of your cross, that they might receive
your immediate judgment. Thank you for hearing my prayer! †In the name of the Father and of the Son and of
the Holy Spirit. Amen.

#10. Idolatry
Next, you should pull out homework list #10 (idolatry) and pray the following:

In the name of Jesus Christ, I renounce any idol that I have erected in my own life, any person or thing that has
taken the place of God in my heart, that I consider to be more important than You, oh Lord: (recite your entire
list). Please forgive me for setting any person or thing above You in my life. Lord, there is no one who can take
your place. You are my Creator, the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the One who made all
things, who is everlasting to everlasting! Help me, oh Lord, to always center my heart in You, when I arise first
thing in the morning until I lay down my head after the evening’s song. You alone, oh Merciful King, are worthy
of honor and worship, so I praise Your name, which is above all names. You are the Lord of my life! Send your
Holy Angels to seize every demon and vanquish them to the foot of your cross, that they might receive your
immediate judgment. †In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

#11. Renouncing Areas of Bondage

Next, you should pull out homework list #11 (other areas of bondage) and pray the following, if they apply to you.

For abortion:

In the name of Jesus Christ, I renounce the abortion(s) that I committed in the past and the willful choice to
forfeit the precious life (lives) of my own child(ren). Please forgive me, oh Lord, for failing to care for my
baby(ies). I now give this child (these children) into your loving and tender arms, that You might care for them
forever in Heaven. Oh, Merciful Father, please remove all demonic attachments and sever all legal rights that
Satan has over my life because of my grave sin(s), and send your Holy Angels to seize every demon and vanquish
them to the foot of your cross, that they might receive your immediate judgment. Help me to not only forgive
myself in all this, but to also forgive those who were involved in this sin (i.e. the doctor, spouse, lover, or anyone
else who may have helped me in carrying out this act). Thank you, Lord, for restoring in me a parent’s loving
and selfless heart, that I might be filled with the same boundless love that pours out from the heart of our Father
in Heaven! †In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

For any other general area of bondage not already covered in this deliverance session such as addictions, excessive
mourning of the dead, habitual sins, or unconfessed sins (use the giant list of sins in the homework packet):

Finally, oh, Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ, I renounce any legal right that Satan may have over me due to the
following areas of bondage that I have struggled with during my life: (recite your entire list of addictions,
habitual sins, and other strongholds you have struggled with in life). Please break the power of the Evil One over
my life in these specific areas, oh Sovereign King, and send your Holy Angels to seize every demon and vanquish
them to the foot of your cross, that they might receive your immediate judgment. Thank you, Lord, for setting me
free from the shackles of sin and Satan! You are God! And who among the Heavens is like you? †In the name of
the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

#12. Bondages Common to All

Finally, everyone should pray the following renunciation prayers.

For ancestral sins:

In the name of Jesus Christ, I renounce the legal right Satan may have in my life due to ancestral or
generational sins. Oh Lord, please free me from this bondage—break these generational curses and free me from
this spiritual slavery! For as it is written, I was “called to be free,” so set loose my chains of bondage, oh King of
Kings, that I might serve others humbly in love, loving my neighbor as I love myself! I humbly ask that you
would free me from all demonic influence because of any ancestral sins. In the name of Jesus Christ, send your
Holy Angels to seize every demon and vanquish them to the foot of your cross, that they might receive your
immediate judgment. Thank you for hearing my prayer! †In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the

Prayers assembled by The Catholic Centurion website: www.catholiccenturion.com 15

Holy Spirit. Amen.

For curses and spells:

In the name of Jesus Christ, I renounce any legal right Satan has over my life because of any curse that has been
put over me by myself or another person, whether I am aware of it or not. I ask, oh Lord, that you would sever the
wicked power that has oppressed me due to any word-curses, spells, hexes, the Evil Eye, magical incantations,
sorceries, divinations, evil wishes and desires, hereditary seals, or any other form of external Satanic bondage
placed on me by another person or demon. For you, oh Lord, have been seated in the right hand of the Heavens,
far above every demon—every principality, authority, power, and dominion—and every name that is named not
only in this age but also in the one to come! For my struggle is not with flesh and blood but with the
principalities, with the powers, with the world rulers of this present darkness, with the evil spirits in the Heavens.
And it is you, oh Lord, not myself, whom I draw my strength, from your mighty power! I humbly ask that you
would free me from all demonic influence of this kind. Please send your Holy Angels to seize every demon and
vanquish them to the foot of your cross, that they might receive your immediate judgment. Thank you for hearing
my prayer! †In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

The Renunciation Ritual

Now we will perform the renunciation ritual. This ritual is merely a visible reminder for you in the future that you
have confessed these sins, renounced Satan’s claim in your life because of them, and reclaimed every last area of
bondage that the Devil has been forced to abandon. The value of burning this paper filled with sins is to give a
strong visual to yourself that your sins are gone—they have truly been washed away by the Blood of the Lamb, “so
far…removed…from us” by God “as far as the east is from the west,” and no longer exist (Psalm 103:12). It also
helps to visualize the sins being burned up as an aid to help you renounce the sins and to remove from yourself any
attachment to them. This is especially useful later on down the road, when the Devil will come and try to cause you
to doubt the actions that you previously took during this deliverance. (And he most certainly will!) For example, it is
very common to hear the Evil One visiting former clients weeks or months after their deliverance session, trying to
convince them with his lies, like: “You didn’t really forgive Susan! See—you’re still angry about it!” Or his old line
from Genesis, “Did you really renounce those Tarot cards during that deliverance?” Satan loves to cause us to doubt
ourselves and God. (He tried to do this to Jesus in the wilderness.) We have to be careful of this.

†In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit! As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be,
world without end. Amen.

(Sprinkle a few drops of holy water on each page of your homework lists, lightly crumple them up, and then
safely set these papers on fire. When the paper is consumed and the fire is out, pray the following:)

Thank you, Heavenly Father, for forgiving me. With the destruction of these lists, I give up any and all
attachment to the sins listed and to all sin. I give myself permission to forgive myself. I give up these sins to you,
Lord, and I know that the Blood of Christ Jesus cleanses me. I am made pure and as white as snow by your
forgiveness, love, and mercy through the Cross. Thank you for loving me enough to forgive me and to cleanse me
of all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). With the help of the Blessed and Immaculate Virgin Mary, Mother of God,
Blessed Michael the Archangel, Blessed Apostles Peter and Paul, Padre Pio of Pietrelcina, Gordius, Dymphna,
Benedict of Nursia, Bruno, Rita of Cascia, Lucian, Marcian, Margaret of Fontana, Quirinus of Sescia, Ubaldo

Angel, and all the Saints and Angels of Heaven, and powerful in the holy authority of the blessed Name of our
Lord Jesus Christ, I shall receive this blessing of forgiveness as a new beginning to live for you. Amen.

Reclamation Prayer
Now that we have confessed our sins through the Sacrament of Reconciliation and renounced the power of the
Devil, we will pray the Reclamation Prayer to take back all ground which Satan has stolen from us in our lives.

In the name of Jesus Christ, who is Faithful and True, the Sovereign Lord of the Heavens and the Earth, and by
the mighty intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, and the Defender of Our Faith, St. Michael
the Archangel, I renounce all areas of bondage in my life that Satan has stolen. With the aid of Heaven, and the
blessed company of all the Saints, who intercede day and night on my behalf before the throne of God, I take
back all ground that Satan stole from me. I reclaim every abandoned stronghold of the enemy for Christ! Oh,
Holy Spirit, I invite you into these empty lands, to dwell there and make of them Your temple, and I surrender
myself entirely to your loving arms. Fill me with your abundant grace and presence! Satisfy my soul with living
water! And transform my old heart of stone, oh Comforter, into a new heart of flesh, that I might love the Lord
with all my heart, mind, body, soul, and spirit, and become a light advancing upon the Earth for the sake of His
kingdom! †In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Prayer of Binding & Breaking

In the Name of Jesus Christ, Our Lord and God, we ask Thee to render all spirits impotent, paralyzed, and
ineffective in attempting to take revenge against anyone participating in this deliverance, as well as all our families
and those for whom we pray. We ask Thee to bind all evil spirits, all powers in the air, the water, the ground, the
fire, underground, or wherever they exercise their powers, any satanic forces in nature and any and all emissaries of
the satanic headquarters. We ask Thee to bind by Thy Precious Blood all of the attributes, aspects and
characteristics, interactions, communications, manifestations, and deceitful games of the evil spirits. We ask Thee to
break any and all bonds, ties, and attachments.

†In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Step 5: The Holy Litanies
Demons hate litanies. If there are any demons still clinging on to your life by this point, then saying these prayers
aloud with your deliverance counselor will help to drive them away.

The Litany of Loreto and Lepanto (Adapted for Deliverance)

Lord have mercy. Christ have mercy.
Lord have mercy. Christ hear us. Christ graciously hear us.
God, the Father of Heaven, have mercy on us.
God the Son, Redeemer of the world, have mercy on us.
God the Holy Spirit, have mercy on us.
Holy Trinity, one God, have mercy on us.

In the name of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, Most Holy, who crushes Lucifer’s proud head, with the
intercessions of Blessed Michael the Archangel, Blessed Apostles Peter and Paul, Padre Pio of Pietrelcina,
Gordius, Dymphna, Benedict of Nursia, Bruno, Rita of Cascia, Lucian, Marcian, Margaret of Fontana, Quirinus
of Sescia, Ubaldo Baldassini, Lucy Bufalari, Teresa of Avila, Bernadette of Lourdes, Agrippina of Rome,
Amabilis of Auvergne, Andrew of Segni, Columba of Rieti, Cyriacus the Martyr, Demetrius of Sermium, Denis of
Paris, Dionysius the Aeropagite, Margaret of Antioch, Peter the Exorcist, and Vincent de Paul, of my Patron
Saint and my Guardian Angel, and all the Saints and Angels of Heaven, and powerful in the holy authority of the
blessed Name of our Lord Jesus Christ, I ask, oh Lord, that you please rebuke and cast out all evil forces and
demons, whomever they be, from my person, from my family, and from my home. Please command them never to
return, especially the spirits of (name them by attribute).

Step 6: Deliver Us from Evil
The Chaplet of St. Michael
The history of this Chaplet goes back to a devout Servant of God, Antonia d'Astonac, who had a vision of St.
Michael. He told Antonia to honor him by nine salutations to the nine Choirs of Angels. St. Michael promised that
whoever would practice this devotion in his honor would have, when approaching Holy Communion, an escort of
nine Angels chosen from each of the nine Choirs. In addition, for those who would recite the Chaplet daily, he
promised his continual assistance and that of all the Holy Angels during life, and after death deliverance from
purgatory for themselves and their relations.

O God, come to my assistance.

O Lord, make haste to help me.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit!
As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Seraphim may the Lord make us worthy to burn with
the fire of perfect charity. Amen. Our Father… Hail Mary… (x3)

By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Cherubim may the Lord grant us the grace to leave the
ways of sin and run in the paths of Christian perfection. Amen. Our Father… Hail Mary… (x3)

By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Thrones may the Lord infuse into our hearts a true and
sincere spirit of humility. Amen. Our Father… Hail Mary… (x3)

By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Dominations may the Lord give us grace to govern our
senses and overcome any unruly passions. Amen. Our Father… Hail Mary… (x3)

By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Virtues may the Lord preserve us from evil and falling
into temptation. Amen. Our Father… Hail Mary… (x3)

By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Powers may the Lord protect our souls against the
snares and temptations of the Devil. Amen. Our Father… Hail Mary… (x3)

By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Principalities may God fill our souls with a true spirit of
obedience. Amen. Our Father… Hail Mary… (x3)

By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Archangels may the Lord give us perseverance in faith
and in all good works in order that we may attain the glory of Heaven. Amen. Our Father… Hail Mary… (x3)

By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Angels may the Lord grant us to be protected by them in
this mortal life and conducted in the life to come to Heaven. Amen. Our Father… Hail Mary… (x3)

Exorcism Prayer of St. Leo XIII

The following prayer is permitted to the laity in this modified form, but not in its original form. It relies on the
limited authority granted by a layperson’s baptism—unlike the original, which must be said by a priest.

† Most glorious Prince of the Heavenly Armies, Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in “our battle against
principalities and powers, against the rulers of this world of darkness, against the spirits of wickedness in the high
places.” Come to the assistance of men whom God has created to His likeness and whom He has redeemed at a great
price from the tyranny of the Devil.

The Holy Church venerates you as her guardian and protector; to you, the Lord has entrusted the souls of the
redeemed to be led into Heaven. Pray therefore the God of Peace to crush Satan beneath our feet, that he may no
longer retain men captive and do injury to the Church. Offer our prayers to the Most High, that without delay they
may draw His mercy down upon us; take hold of “the dragon, the old serpent, which is the Devil and Satan,” bind
him and cast him into the bottomless pit “that he may no longer seduce the nations.”

In the Name of Jesus Christ, our God and Lord, strengthened by the intercession of the Immaculate Virgin Mary,
Mother of God, of Blessed Michael the Archangel, of the Blessed Apostles Peter and Paul and all the Saints, we
confidently undertake to repulse the attacks and deceits of the Devil. God arises; His enemies are scattered and those
who hate Him flee before Him. As smoke is driven away, so are they driven; as wax melts before the fire, so the
wicked perish at the presence of God.

V. Behold the Cross of the Lord, flee bands of enemies.

℟. The Lion of the tribe of Judah, the offspring of David, hath conquered.
V. May Thy mercy, Lord, descend upon us.
℟. As great as our hope in Thee.

Father in Heaven we ask you to drive the evil spirits from _____________, whoever they may be, unclean spirits, all
satanic powers, all infernal invaders, all wicked legions, assemblies, and sects. In the Name and by the power of Our
Lord Jesus Christ, † may these infernal spirits be snatched away and driven from _____________, who is made in
the image and likeness of God and redeemed by the Precious Blood of the Divine Lamb.

† Most cunning serpent, you shall no more dare to deceive the human race, persecute the Church, torment God’s
elect, and sift them as wheat. † The Most High God commands you, † He with whom, in your great insolence, you
still claim to be equal. “God who wants all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” God the
Father commands you. † God the Son commands you. † God the Holy Spirit commands you. † Christ, God’s Word
made flesh, commands you; † He who to save our race outdone through your envy, “humbled Himself, becoming
obedient even unto death”; He who has built His Church on the firm rock and declared that the gates of hell shall not
prevail against Her, because He will dwell with Her “all days even to the end of the world.” The sacred Sign of the
Cross commands you, † as does also the power of the mysteries of the Christian Faith. † The glorious Mother of
God, the Virgin Mary, commands you; † she who by her humility and from the first moment of her Immaculate
Conception crushed your proud head. The faith of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, and of the other Apostles
commands you. † The blood of the Martyrs and the pious intercession of all the Saints command you.

† Thus, cursed dragon, and you, diabolical legions, we adjure you by the living God, † by the true God, † by the
Holy God, † by the God “who so loved the world that He gave up His only Son, that every soul believing in Him
might not perish but have life everlasting”; stop deceiving human creatures and pouring out to them the poison of
eternal damnation; stop harming the Church and hindering Her liberty. Begone, Satan, inventor and master of all
deceit, enemy of man’s salvation. Give place to Christ in Whom you have found none of your works; give place to
the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church acquired by Christ at the price of His Blood. Stoop beneath the all-
powerful Hand of God; tremble and flee when we invoke the Holy and terrible Name of Jesus, this Name which
causes hell to tremble, this Name to which the Virtues, Powers, and Dominations of Heaven are humbly submissive,
this Name which the Cherubim and Seraphim praise unceasingly repeating: Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord, the God of

Let us pray. God of Heaven, God of Earth, God of Angels, God of Archangels, God of Patriarchs, God of Prophets,
God of Apostles, God of Martyrs, God of Confessors, God of Virgins, God who has power to give life after death
and rest after work: because there is no other God than Thee and there can be no other, for Thou art the Creator of
all things, visible and invisible, of Whose reign there shall be no end, we humbly prostrate ourselves before Thy
glorious Majesty and we beseech Thee to deliver us by Thy power from all the tyranny of the infernal spirits, from
their snares, their lies and their furious wickedness. Deign, O Lord, to grant us Thy powerful protection and to keep
us safe and sound. We beseech Thee through Jesus Christ Our Lord. Amen.

Step 7: Our Father’s Blessing
Let us praise God with joy and thanksgiving for what He has accomplished in us today. Then we shall ask Him for a
special blessing, to strengthen us as we go forth in the peace of God with a newfound joy and freedom.

Remember: one must be willing to resign one’s self to God’s Divine Perfect Will. If you are not delivered entirely
after this deliverance session ends, you must continue seeking out God’s will for your life. It is likely that the
suffering you are experiencing is being used for some good purpose in your life. Maybe it’s to teach you something,
maybe God is permitting you to struggle for a long time to see if you are serious about truly repenting, or maybe
there is a particular person God wants to pray over you for the demons to finally leave (perhaps because that person
also bears an important message that you need to hear). But whatever the case may be, trust in God and accept that
this session was not in vain. Your prayers have been heard by the Lord. He will provide all that you need to bear this
particular cross until the timing for your full deliverance is right.

Order for the Blessing of the Sick (Shorter Form)

Our help is in the name of the Lord.
Who made Heaven and Earth.

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Mark (5:1-3, 6-8, 18-19).
Glory to you, O Lord.

“They came to the other side of the sea, to the territory of the Gerasenes. When [Jesus] got out of the boat, at once a
man from the tombs who had an unclean spirit met him. The man had been dwelling among the tombs, and no one
could restrain him any longer, even with a chain. In fact, he had frequently been bound with shackles and chains, but
the chains had been pulled apart by him and the shackles smashed, and no one was strong enough to subdue him.
Night and day among the tombs and on the hillsides he was always crying out and bruising himself with stones.
Catching sight of Jesus from a distance, he ran up and prostrated himself before him, crying out in a loud voice,
‘What have you to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I adjure you by God, do not torment me!’ ([Jesus]
had been saying to him, ‘Unclean spirit, come out of the man!’) [Jesus] asked him, ‘What is your name?’ [The man]
replied, ‘Legion is my name. There are many of us.’ And he pleaded earnestly with [Jesus] not to drive them away
from that territory.”

“Now a large herd of swine was feeding there on the hillside. And they pleaded with him, ‘Send us into the swine.
Let us enter them.’ And [Jesus] let them, and the unclean spirits came out and entered the swine. The herd of about
two thousand rushed down a steep bank into the sea, where they were drowned. The swineherds ran away and
reported the incident in the town and throughout the countryside. And people came out to see what had happened.
As they approached Jesus, they caught sight of the man who had been possessed by Legion, sitting there clothed and
in his right mind. And they were seized with fear. Those who witnessed the incident explained to them what had
happened to the possessed man and to the swine. Then they began to beg [Jesus] to leave their district. As he was
getting into the boat, the man who had been possessed pleaded to remain with him. But [Jesus] would not permit
him but told him instead, ‘Go home to your family and announce to them all that the Lord in his pity has done for
you.’ Then the man went off and began to proclaim in the Decapolis what Jesus had done for him; and all were
amazed.”

The Gospel of the Lord.

Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

(If needed, the deliverance counselor may trace the sign of the cross on the client’s forehead while praying:)

Lord and Father, almighty and eternal God,

by your blessing you give us strength and support in our frailty:

My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord,
my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant.
From this day all generations will call me blessed:
the Almighty has done great things for me,
and Holy is His Name.
He has mercy on those who fear him
in every generation.
He has shown the strength of his arm,
he has scattered the proud in their conceit.
He has cast down the mighty from their thrones,
and has lifted up the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich he has sent away empty.
He has come to the help of his servant Israel
for he has remembered his promise of mercy,
the promise he made to our fathers,
to Abraham and his children forever.
Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.

Prayer for the Father’s Blessing

(Everyone participating in the deliverance should pray this aloud, asking for God’s special blessing.)

Oh, my Heavenly Father, I cry out to you with joy and thanksgiving, for today you have shown me your
deliverance from evil! Let the favor of the Lord my God be upon me and establish the work of my hands. No good
thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly. His favor lasts a lifetime. For the Lord remembers me
and will bless me! He will bless those who fear Him, small and great alike. Oh, how Your eyes saw my unformed
body! You formed my inmost being and You knit me together in my mother’s womb! In Your book all are written
down. My days were shaped before one came to be. How I praise You because I am wonderfully made; how
wonderful are Your works! Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the
house of the Lord forever!

†In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. (Sprinkle holy water at feet.)
