book among the human race. Jesus
tells us in Matthew 4:4 (NIV): “…

Man shall not live on bread alone, but
on every word that comes from the

mouth of God.” Jesus’ own words say
Senior Pastor it is by the Word of God that we live.
Let us meditate and allow it to become a part of our
lives, for the Word of God is life itself.

How to Study The Bible

T here are numerous methods of studying the Bible.

Each method has its own advantages. This booklet
provides a study by chapters.

The Bible was written in complete books and not

chapters or verses. As we study a particular portion of a
Scripture, we must understand the correct context to get
a complete picture and have the correct understanding
and perspective of the passage. I suggest following this
outline at least once before proceeding to read the
individual chapters.

Studying a chapter should be done from an observer’s

perspective by asking questions such as: “What is
happening here? Who is talking? What is he saying?”
etc.
 Steps to Studying The Bible

STUDYING THE BIBLE

1. Give the chapter a title – short and descriptive.
2. Re-read the chapter and begin a brief outline
from an observer’s standpoint.
3. Begin devotional study i.e. applying God’s
Word to your personal life.

I n addition to knowing how to study the Bible by

chapters, we also need to pray and ask God for
wisdom when we study the Word of God.

The Holy Spirit is our teacher and He will give us

insight, because the Word of God is Spirit and can only
be spiritually discerned.

We must always begin and end our study time with

prayer.

This special guide contains at least one Old Testament

and one New Testament chapter for each day. As you
continue to study and read the Word of God, may you
increase in knowledge, wisdom and understanding.
