1. PHYSICAL WORLD
▪ What is meant by Physical World :
1)Nature has given us 5 physical sense with which we
can : 1)See(with eye) 2)Smell(Nose) 3)Taste(Tongue)
4)Hear & Speak(with Ear and Throat).
See(with eye) Smell(with Nose) Taste(with
Tongue)
Touch(with Skin) Hear & Speak(with
Ear and Throat)
2)All around us, whatever we experience(or perceive)
with these 5 physical sense forms the Physical World.
▪ What is meant by Science :
1)The knowledge of things and happenings in the
nature & relation almost them, is organized. so that,
it become well connected & logical.
2)Science is a systematic attempt to understand
natural phenomenon by performing experiments or
theories and use this knowledge to predict, modify &
control phenomena.
▪ How to study Science?
Ans- We study Science through scientific method.
▪ Scientific Method :
1) Scientific method is used to observe the thing &
natural phenomena.
2)It includes the several steps - 1)Observation
2)Controlled Experiment 3)Qualitative & Quantitative
reasoning 4)Mathematical Modeling 5)Prediction &
6) Verification or falsification of theories.
▪ STEPS :
1)Observation : Observing the events
in nature and learn their concepts.
Study them & Try to explain these concepts.
2)Controlled Experiment : Perform experiments
under control & Take precaution of that no one will
harm from this experiment.
3)Qualitative & Quantitative
Reasoning :
Quantitative Reasoning :
1)Quantitative reasoning refers to the measurable
observations.
2)It includes the Numerical data, Data-processing,
Mathematical and syntactical reasons.
3)Ex. height, weight, temperature, age,
etc.
Examples : i)Research that consists of
the percentage amounts of all the
elements that make up Earth's
atmosphere.
ii)Survey that concludes that the average patient
has to wait two hours in the waiting room of a certain
doctor before being selected.
Qualitative Reasoning :
1)Qualitative reasoning refers to the observations
using five sense.
2)It includes the conceptual data,
symbol-processing, logical &
semantical reasons.
3)Reason of what will be happen
in next by logical thinking.
Examples :
i)observing pouring rain and the
steadily rising water level of a river, which
is sufficient information to take action against possible
flooding without knowing the exact water level, the rate
of change, or the time the river might flood.
4)Mathematical Modeling :
1)In simple words, Formulation or Mathematical
Modeling means making formula.
2)Physical relationship of natural phenomenon by
Means of a mathematical equation are called
mathematical Model.
3)Mathematical models are a
collection of mathematical
quantities, operations and
relations together with their
definitions and they must be
realistic and practical.
5)Prediction & Verification or Falsification of
theories :
1)Prediction means guess that what will happen in the
future and Check the our research to conclude that our
theory was right or wrong. e.g., If the initial velocity of
train is 20 m/s with
the acceleration of 10
m/s^2 in 5 second
then we predict the
final velocity is 70 m/s
by using formula
v=u+at.
We predict the things happening in nature and use
or aware about them.
this hepls us to prevent
or manage to get
minimum damage.
2)“Falsification” is to be understood as the
refutation of statements, and in contrast,
“verification” refers to statements that are shown
to be true. The goal of science is to create
knowledge by identifying true statements as true
(verified) and false statements as false (falsified).
These all are the complete scientific process :
