A DESIGN FOR THE BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT SPONSORED BY THE SANGGUNIANG KABATAAN OF TAGUBA-AS,
ANTEQUERA, BOHOL.
FUNDED OUT FROM THEIR SK FUND.
INTODUCTION:
Physical fitness is one of the programs mentioned among others in R.A. 7160 to be participated not only by the
youth but to the people who are interested in sports as well. It is suffice to say that nowadays, various vices had been
committed by the youth as an effect in the use of illegal drugs. The diversion from drugs to sports really helps the youth
forget the use of illegal drugs and indulge themselves to sports activities.
The Sangguniang Kabataan of the Barangay Taguba-as, Antequera in coordination with the barangay council
took on the plights of the youth; hence this Design had been prepared to augment the interest of our youth in the field
of sports and the spirit of camaraderie and true sportsmanship.
To harness the capability, ability and potentials of our youth in the field of sports;
To divert the attention of our youths from using illegal drugs and other vices to sports;
To inculcate into the minds of our youths the importance of physical fitness and the spirit of
sportsmanship;
To give our youth an awareness that the government is looking for an athlete that excels in various
sports; and
To discover the hidden talents of our youth in the field of sports that can be useful both in local, national
and international competition.
METHODOLOGY:
There will be only one division/category in this tournament in this will be the Inter Barangay Basketball to be
participated in by the different Barangays of Antequera. This will play against each other in a single-round- robin
format. After the elimination round, they will play the cross - over the Semifinal. The number 1&2 in the team
standing will play for the championship finals for only One Game .While the #3 & #4 in the team standing will
play for the third place again for only one game .In case there will be a tie in the team standing , this will be
resolved by; SIMPLE TIE= Winner over the other rule while for TRIPLE TIE=the ASEAN Point Quotient system
will be adopted as approved by the FIBA and SBP rules ,the governing body for amateur basketball league.
The tournament will start on July 12, 2024 and will end on August 20, 2024. Games will be played on Fridays,
Saturdays and Sundays with twelve (12) games on elimination round two (2) games on semifinal round and two
(2) games finals and fight for third. Game time will start at 7:00 pm. All games will be played at Taguba-as
Basketball Hard-court, Taguba-as, Antequera Bohol.
BUDGETARY REQUIREMENT:
The Sangguniang Kabataan of Taguba-as will appropriate an amount of Forty Thousand pesos
(₱43,400.00) For the expenses incurred for the honorarium of Basketball referees/table officials, prizes for
Basketball and Volleyball, and other incidental expenses of the tournament.
BREAKDOWN OF HONORARIUM EXPENSES FOR OFFICIATING:
Honorarium for two (3) referees @ ₱ 350.00 each/game ₱ 1,050.00
Three (3) Table Officials @ ₱ 250.00 each/game ₱ 750.00
