TEST 2: ESSAY
1. Why is it important to trace the history of science and technology?
Tracing the history of science and technology would provide us information like how did it improved over time. It doesn’t just
give us knowledge about past events on science and technology, it also gives us an overview on where we are lacking and how
we can improve that. Science and technology is more fun than we think it is, it keeps on progressing and if we have enough
knowledge about its history we could make inventions that would benefit not just us but also the future generations. With
this, we could make good use of our full potential.
2. Why are there debates on the legitimacy and accuracy of historical timelines?
Despite the popularity of past events in our world, there are still people who doubt the accuracy of history. The possibility of
historical revision opens a debate and how history became an open access over the years. For example, Kingdoms that last for
hundred of years may lost its legitimacy because of how little was recorded about it. The most accurate telling of a story may
come several years after the event happened and as time goes by, we are moving away from those past events. At the end of
the day, digging into history is just like putting a jigsaw puzzle together.
3. How do you imagine the present world to be without scientific discoveries?
Science became an essential part of our lives, it helps us understand how the world works. So, without scientific discoveries
our world would probably just all be based on beliefs whether it be personal or biblical beliefs. Without the presence of
science there would be no technological advancement thus, our world would not be the world that we know today. Science is
always here, from the deepest part of the sea to the three-dimensional realm, we would never know how these things works
without scientific discoveries. We would just be living our lives without any scientific explanation present, we’d never know
where life came from.
4. What are the significant advancements or contributions of the Carolingian Renaissance in
the field of science and technology?
The Carolingian Renaissance became the last reform to revive the classical culture of Europe. This renaissance saw the potential in their rich
culture and expanded this creating their own style of scientific inquiry. During this time, the development in printing presses was evident
that made spreading information a much easier task. Some major developments also include world exploration and their contribution to
astronomy. Some criticized how the Carolingian renaissance affected science saying that the advancement was too slow. Many favored
human-centered subjects like politics, neglecting science and mathematics. But still, the Carolingian renaissance’s preservation and revival
of important manuscripts and classical texts helped to provide better understanding of science.

Scientific Revolution 2. The establishment of these largely contributed to the production of
science knowledge in the 17th and 18th centuries.

Gutenberg printing press is the first print of Bible in latin which has around 200 copies, a speedy achievement at that time.To
the world, the printing press of Gutenberg is a big help in understanding culture and history.
4. How does technology brought by the Information Era serve as a catalyst for change?
