Marking criteria: Collaborative writing

For the ​collaborative writing tasks​, you will be marked using the following criteria:

Contributions to group work ​(marked ​individually​)


The contributions to group work mark takes into account each student’s involvement in the initial task discussion and organisation, fulfilment of
roles (e.g. spokesperson), response to group mates, giving feedback and active editing of the text.

Collaborative writing task ​(the mark for the task is the ​same for all members of the group who actively take part​)

Task achievement and comprehensibility


Task achievement takes into account how well the finished work answers the task requirements, how comprehensible it is and if the style and
register of the text are appropriate for the task.

Organisation: Cohesion, coherence and organisation


Comprehensibility, cohesion, coherence and organisation takes into account how easy the text is to understand, the use of linking words and
other linguistic devices to connect ideas (e.g. pronouns) and help the reader understand the text. This also includes punctuation, paragraphing,
layout of the text and how well the different parts of the text link together in terms of ideas.

Language: Grammar and vocabulary


Grammar and vocabulary takes into account the variety and accuracy of grammatical structures and vocabulary used in the text.

1. IF YOUR WORK DOES NOT SUFFICIENTLY ADDRESS THE TASK, YOUR MARK MAY BE LOWERED OR YOU MAY RECEIVE A
FAILING MARK FOR YOUR WORK.
