Doctoral Student, Advisor: Dr. John Badding
Thesis topic: Solid State Synthesis and Characterization of Dense Extended Carbon Networks
Developed a novel synthetic pathway via nano-architecture of molecular building blocks that leads to diamond

Nanothread Chemistry, highlighting the impact of this work. (https://cci.chem.psu.edu/home).
Demonstrated through thesis and 10+ peer reviewed publications of expertise with material characterization.
Specialized in synchrotron powder X-ray diffraction and cryo-TEM of molecular crystals/hydrocarbon polymers.
University of California, Santa Barbara 2014 - 2015
Undergraduate Visiting Scholar, Solid State Lighting & Energy Electronics Center, Advisor: Dr. James Speck
Investigated hole transport in unipolar InGaN multiple-quantum-well structures, which shed fresh insight on the
process-structure-property relationship of nitride based light-emitting diode (LED) and laser diode (LD) devices.
National Taiwan University/Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, Ltd. 2013- 2014
Undergraduate Research Assistant, TSMC-NTU Research Center, Advisor: Dr. Si-Chen Lee
Developed mixed plasma interface treatment process in a-Si:H/c-Si heterojunction solar cell, which effectively
decrease defect density and eliminate charge recombination centers at the junction interface and therefore allow for a
significant enhancement of solar cell efficiency.
