4.1. Introduction:
This assessment plan has been prepared by Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender,
Elderly and Children (MoHCDGEC) in collaboration with Amref Health Africa in Tanzania. The process
of developing the assessment plan for the module named NMT 06104 Supervision in Nursing and
Midwifery Practice was under the close guidance by the National Council for Technical Education
(NACTE) so as to ensure that the plan meets the required qualification standards set by the regulatory
authority. Assessment plan is one of the tools that are required during the implementation of the
competence based education and training (CBET) curricula.
The plan is also meant to facilitate and harmonize the assessment of learning outcomes among nursing
students across the country. The learning outcomes stipulated within the National Technical Award
(NTA) Curriculum shall be the basis of the assessment of the student competences. The assessor shall
assess learning outcomes stipulated within the NTA Curriculum flexibly based on the student’s ability to
apply competences involving application of skills and knowledge. The holder of the qualification will be
able to apply skills and knowledge in broader of activities some of which are non- routine and be able to
assume operational responsibilities.
The assessment plan was developed in November 2019 to be implemented for the first time in the
academic year 2020/2021 after the review of CBET curriculum by MoHCDGEC and approved by the
National Council for Technical Education (NACTE). It was developed from Basic Technician Certificate
in Nursing and Midwifery (NTA Level 4) which contained in the Curriculum information for Ordinary
Diploma Programme in Nursing and Midwifery (NTA Level 4-6) document of 2017. The plan will be in
use until when Curriculum is reviewed. This assessment plan has two components of the module to be
assessed: Continuous Assessment (CA) which carries 40% and Semester Examination (SE) which
carries 60% of the module weight. The module shall be assessed both theoretically and practically.
There are mainly two tables in this plan, one is for the enabling and sub-enabling outcomes and the
other is for specification of competences. The latter has sub-enabling outcomes with the related tasks
which shall be assessed against the competences achieved in relation to the domains. Furthermore,
there are examination instructions/ rubrics which contain assessment methods, duration, and number of
questions and distribution of scores. There is also a sample of the examination paper cover page.
Assessor should adhere to all requirements stipulated in this assessment plan in order to maintain
standards specified in the module.
This assessment plan contains sub-enabling outcomes with related tasks that shall be tested in both
CA and SE. A tick (√) which appears in either CA or SE column indicates the time when the task shall

7.1. Introduction:
This assessment plan has been prepared by Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender,
Elderly and Children (MoHCDGEC) in collaboration with Amref Health Africa in Tanzania. The process
of developing the assessment plan for the module NMT 06207: Care of Patients with Medical
Conditions was under the close guidance by the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE)
so as to ensure that the plan meets the required qualification standards set by the regulatory authority.
Assessment plan is one of the tools that are required during the implementation of the competence
based education and training (CBET) curricula.
The plan is also meant to facilitate and harmonize the assessment of learning outcomes among nursing
students across the country. The learning outcomes stipulated within the National Technical Award
(NTA) Curriculum shall be the basis of the assessment of the student competences. The assessor shall
assess learning outcomes stipulated within the NTA Curriculum flexibly based on the student’s ability to
apply competences involving application of knowledge and skills .The holder of the qualification will be
able to apply skills and knowledge in a broader range of activities, some of which are non-routine and
be able to assume operational responsibilities.
The module shall be assessed both theoretically and practically
There are mainly two tables in this plan, one is for the enabling and sub-enabling outcomes; and the
other is for specification of competences. The later has sub-enabling outcomes with the related tasks
which shall be assessed against the competences achieved in relation to the domains. Furthermore,
there are examination instructions/rubrics which contain assessment methods, duration, and number of
questions and distribution of scores. There is also a sample of the examination paper cover page.
Assessor should adhere to all requirements stipulated in this assessment plan in order to maintain
standards specified in the module.
This assessment plan contains sub-enabling outcomes with related tasks that shall be tested in both
CA and SE. A tick (√) which appears in either CA or SE column indicates when the task shall be
assessed in both. A task that has lower level competences shall be assessed during the Continuous
Assessment (CA) while a task that has higher level competences shall be assessed during the
Semester examination (SE). Assessors shall focus on those core areas of competences as stipulated in
the curriculum.

9.1. Introduction:
This assessment plan has been prepared by Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender,
Elderly and Children (MoHCDGEC) in collaboration with Amref Health Africa in Tanzania. The process
of developing the assessment plan for the module NMT 06209: Care of Patients with Surgical
Conditions was under the close guidance by the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) so
as to ensure that the plan meets the required qualification standards set by the regulatory authority.
The assessor shall
assess learning outcomes stipulated within the NTA Curriculum flexibly based on the student’s ability to
apply competences involving application of knowledge and skills .The holder of the qualification will be
able to apply skills and knowledge in broader of activities some of which are non- routine and be able to
assume operational responsibilities.
The assessment plan was developed in November 2019 to be implemented for the first time in the
academic year 2020/2021 after the review of CBET curriculum by MoHCDGEC and approved by the
National Council for Technical Education (NACTE). It was developed from Ordinary Diploma in Nursing
and Midwifery (NTA Level 6) which contained in the Curriculum information for Ordinary Diploma
Programme in Nursing and Midwifery (NTA Level 4-6) document of 2017. The plan will be in use until
when Curriculum is reviewed.
This assessment plan contains sub-enabling outcomes with related tasks that shall be tested in both
CA and SE. A tick (√) which appears in either CA or SE column indicates the time when the task shall
be assessed in both. A task that has lower level competences shall be assessed during the continuous
Assessment (CA) while a task that has higher level competences shall be assessed during the
semester examination (SE) respectively. Assessors shall focus on those core areas of competences as
stipulated in the curriculum
