Water on Earth
Water covers 70% of Earth's surface.
All living things need water in the form of fresh water.
The percentage of fresh water out of the total water on Earth is only about 3% !
The total salt water is almost 97%.
The water found on Earth makes up the hydrosphere.
We cannot drink salt water or use it to grow crops. For those activities, we need fresh water.
Most of this fresh water is frozen in the form of permanent snow cover, glaciers, and ice caps.

There are three main sources of usable fresh water:
Groundwater Running Water Standing Water
Aquifers Streams Reservoirs
Wells Rivers
