Clinical Psychologist 2 (Inpatient) – 3 Positions
This position can be changed to a Staff Clinical Psychologist 3 or a Clinical Psychologist
1 for new doctoral graduates or for those who have graduated, but have not completed
2 years of clinical experience subsequent to receipt of the doctoral degree. The staff is
able to provide supervision for licensure.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Ann Klein Forensic Center is a 200-bed maximum security inpatient psychiatric facility that
consists of 8 units, 25 bed capacity on each unit and 8 treatment teams. The psychologist is part
of a multi-disciplinary clinical team, working closely with team members in evaluation and
treatment planning for individual patients to provide quality, comprehensive and rehabilitative
services that maximizes patients’ independence and stability toward community re-integration.
Employee has many duties as a team member including, attending rounds on the unit and
participating in treatment plan meetings. Major duties as an inpatient Forensic Psychologist
surround conducting a variety of psycho-legal evaluations, including risk, age-related, self-
directed violence, malingering, and competency related diagnostic assessments; in addition to
facilitating individual and group therapy sessions.
NOTE: This position is covered by the Governor's Executive Order 283, requiring all
employees to be fully vaccinated. To comply with that requirement, employees must

REQUIREMENTS (EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSES)
EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree
supplemented by a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Psychology, a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D)
or a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Psychology which should have ncluded a tleast thirty (30)
graduate semester hour in a psychology program consisting of six (6) semester hour credits in
counseling/psychotherapy and three (3) credit hours in each of the following areas: individual
intelligence testing, objective and/or projective testing, and abnormal psychology. At least fifteen
(15) semester credit hours should be in courses relevant to clinical psychology such as: learning
theories, human motivation, personality theories, human growth and development,
psychopharmacology, and statistics and research and completion of a one (1) year clinical
internship.
EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of experience, in addition to the clinical internship, in the field of
clinical psychology in a community mental health center, mental hospital, school for the
developmentally disabled, or penal, correctional, or juvenile institution, or other setting involving
the use of psychotherapy, projective techniques, and other clinical methods.
NOTE: Two (2) years of the required experience shall have been earned subsequent to the
receipt of the Doctorate.
SPECIAL NOTE: One (1) year of residency (advanced training beyond internship or the
extensively supervised clinical experience) is considered equivalent to one (1) year of
experience.
LICENSE: Appointee will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the
operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform in essential duties
of the position.
