 Show pictures or illustrations of different landforms and bodies of water, and ask
students to identify them.

of their area.
 Guide students to identify and label important landforms (e.g., mountains, hills, valleys)

Accommodations/Adaptations:

 Facilitate a class discussion about the ways in which the land and water around their
community affect their daily lives. Prompt students to think about:
 How landforms provide resources or obstacles for transportation, construction,
and agriculture.
 How bodies of water support activities such as fishing, boating, and recreation,
and provide water for drinking and irrigation.
 How the climate and weather patterns are influenced by the proximity to bodies
of water and the presence of mountains or valleys.
 Create a class chart or diagram to record students' ideas about the impact of land and
water on their community.

during class discussions and group activities.
 Evaluate students' written paragraphs or stories for
clarity and accuracy of information regarding the
impact of land and water on the community.

Teacher’s Reflection:
This is to be completed AFTER teaching the lesson and is meant to help you gain insight into your practice. Reread your objectives. Were your objectives supported by the outcomes you observed? Did
the criteria support the learning objectives? Were the objectives/outcomes reflected in the students’ work? What do you think worked? Why? What did not work? Why? What could you do differently to
make the lesson more successful? Did some things happen for which you were not prepared? How did you react? Identify three things you think well with the lesson. Why? List one or more appropriate
ideas for follow-up or extension activities. Describe how your execution of this lesson demonstrates that you are a reflective, innovative educator committed to diversity. You can also write any
modifications/ re-teaching/changes that you need to make to the lesson in the future.
