CHAPTER 1:EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

We have selected Yanamadala village for our survey on the subject Agriculture.
As our project team surveyed, we did come across lot of agricultural schemes
and methods that are being brought and are being implemented from time to
time as per the requirement and updation. The various fertilizes insecticides and
pesticides usage is the primary thing to be observed in the concept of
agriculture.

The learning objectives we had during the survey at the Dammalapadu on

agriculture can be noted as the following:

1. We learned about the various engineering methods in agriculture.

2. The community environment, allied disciplines, education gained by the

farmers, skills obtained etc are some of the things we are being said that are of
utilitarian type

3. Farmers are to be taught about the various developmental schemes in various

sectors.

4. The research should be done in introducing new productive seeds, obtaining

bulk crop, sustainability.

5. Human resources play the primary role in the field of agriculture.

Government need to enable funding processes for buying the necessary
resources.

6. The goal is to get required food and resources for everyone in need of them.

Growing crops and caring for livestock are important skills for sure. However, all profitable
organic farmers also need business skills that go beyond practical farming skills. As an farmer.
you'll be dealing with banks and other financal issues. working with buyers and sellers, dealing
with marketing and promotions and much more.

Skills we learn from this SRP project:

* Communication with clients

* Monitoring the work
* Problem identification
* Coordination with other members

Questionnaires:-
This study is carried with the help of following questionnaires:

1.Hey, what is this?

2.How do you cook/eat this?
3.How are your crops grown?
4.Where were they grown?
5.How long ago was it harvested?
6.What type of fertilizer do you use?
8.How are your animals (cows, pigs, chickens etc.) raised?

14.What are the methods of farming?
18.What is contour farming?
Describe the problems you have identified in the community

The problems that I identified during my survey are:

In some places I don’t get any positive responses.
Some places people are not ready to give respond.
Mostly people gave us the positive response.
Only few of them complained about the problems.
Small and Fragmented land holdings
Poor Adoption of Mechanization: ..
Soil fertility depletion. ...
Poor irrigation facilities. ...
Impact of climate change
Inadequate access to crop insurance schemes

Conclusion:
Indian farmer community is comprised mainly of small and
marginal farmers who majorly face all the above challenges in
agriculture. Farmers face a lot of problems in agriculture right from
nature’s activities to man-made activities including climate change,
soil erosion, biodiversity loss, water resource depletion, lack of capital,
labour and other inputs etc. Major cause of these problems is mainly
due to lack of proper awareness, less adoption of modern technologies,
lack of capital or gap between farmers and government institutions.
These problems cannot be fully solved but can be mitigated to some
extent by following wise agricultural practices, sustainable use of
resources and bridging the gap between rural farmers, government and
financial institutions.
Short-term and longterm action plan for possible solutions for the problems
identified and that could be recommended to the concerned authorities for
implementation.

The shost term action plans that could be recommended are follows:

1. Cheap Inputs by way of subsidies.

2. provision of soil heatth efficient use of resources.

cards to ensure
3. Agricultural workers should get geven updates from the

to time related to wather and climatic conditions, market

prices etc.

The long term actions plans can be:-

1. Increase Investments in roads, slectricity for good
agricultural productivity.
2.Farm Income insurance schemes assure to quaranteed

Income to farmers.
3.water pricing to encourage availability of water.
4. Creation of national market and improving the efficiency of
commodity exchanges. to enable farmers to get fair price for

their produce.
THE MINI PROJECT REPORT ON
AGRICULTURE
Agriculture as the most known and practised methods
of livelihood by man is also an art and science for the
cultivation of soil, growing plants, raising livestock.
There can attained much utilitarian knowledge in this
field.

Fig. Factors affecting the agriculture

Primary objective of Agriculture Project is to
introduce modern methods of cultivation to
generate large scale production and an thus providing
opportunity to the unemployed youths of the
society to adopt agriculture as a means of earning
livelihood and attaining economic empowerment.
Being the most widely adapted profession in the world,
every region has its own native crops, cropping methods,
technical approaches and types of animals.
What are various types of agriculture?
1. Pastoral Farming
2. Arable Farming
3.Shifting Agriculture
4. Mixed Farrning
5. Nomadic Agriculture
6. Sedentary Agriculture
7. Subsistence Farming
8. Commercial Agriculture
9. Intensive Farming
10. Extensive Farming
11. Crop Rotation
12. Plantation Agriculture

Fig. Types of agriculture

Agriculture plays a prominent role in economy as well as
it is considered to be the backbone of economic system
for developing countries. For decades, agriculture has
been related with the production of vital food crops. The
Present era of farming contains dairy, fruit, forestry,
poultry beekeeping and arbitrary etc.
Agriculture impacts society in many ways, including:
supporting livelihoods through food, habitat, and jobs:
providing raw.
materials for food and other products; and building
strong economies through trade.

Agricultural development is one of the most powerful

tools to end extreme poverty, boost shared prosperity and
feed a projected 9.7 billion people by 2050.
What are the 7 sector of agriculture?
The important sectors consider include Agriculture, Horticulture,
Animal husbandry, Fishery, Soil and
water conservation, Poultry, dairy farming. Agriculture
Marketing, Milk-fed financial institute and Social
forestry.

India is one of the major players in the agriculture sector worldwide and
it is the primary source of livelihood for about 58% of India's population.
India has the world's largest cattle herd (buffaloes), largest area planted to
wheat, rice, and cotton, and is the largest producer of milk, pulses, and
spices in the world.

It is the second-largest producer of fruit, vegetables, tea, farmed fish,

cotton, sugarcane, wheat, rice, cotton, and sugar.

The history of agriculture in India dates back to the neolothic. India ranks
second worldwide in farm outputs. As per 2018, agriculture employed
more than 50% of the Indian work force and contributed 17-18% to
country's GDP
 MARKETSIZ
According to Inc42, theEIndian agricultural sector is predicted to increase
to US$ 24 billion by 2025. Indian food and grocery market is the world's
sixth largest, with retail contributing 70% of the sales.

Fig. Agricultural sectors

• Investment
Some major investments and developments in
agriculture are as follows:
2022, the Government of India is planning to
launch Kisan Drones for nasessment, digitization
of land records, spraying of insecticides and
nutrients

 Govemment Initiatives
In the Union Budget 2022-23. Re. 1.24 lakh crore
(US$ 15.9 billion) has been allocated to Department of
Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare Rs.
8,514 crore (US$ 1.1 billion)
has been allocated to the Department of Agricultural
Research and Education.

The Indian government has initiated Digital Agriculture

Mission for 2021-25 for agriculture projects based on
new technologies such as artificial intelligence, block
chain, remote sensing and GIS technology, drones,
robots and others.

 Road Ahead
From an acute food shortage to becoming a net exporter of
several commodities, agriculture in India has transformed in
many ways in the past 75 years. In the 2021-2022, the agri
sector grew by 3.9 percent. Today
India is the world's largest milk producer with dairy exports
growing over 96 percent in 2021-2022. India's overall
agricultural exports rose by 20 percent to $50.21 billion during
the same period. However farmer income in India is still very
low. At a macro level income per worker in non-agriculture is
3.75 times the income of an average agriculture worker which
includes agricultural labourers and cultivators.

The final points being taken note of are-

Due to the relatively low demographic pressure projected for the future,
the presence of some favourable types of climates and other positive
factors, including a very wide formal seed supply sector, it should be
possible to overcome problems of food insecurity in the region as a
whole, and even to use

this region to provide food to other food-deficient regions. Opportunities

must therefore be created to reach these results

The agricultural sector is of vital importance for the region. It is

undergoing a process of transition to a market economy, with substantial
changes in the social, legal, structural, productive and supply set-ups, as
is the case with all other sectors of the economy.

In order to address the main constraints affecting the development of the

national and regional seed supplies that are being mentioned the region
requires integrated efforts by all national and international stakeholders
and institutions Involved in seed supply and plant genetic resource
management. On practical issues, lessons learned by some countries
could be shared with other countries.
