About Nyayavimarsha
Nyayavimarsha (e-ISSN: 3048-5134) is a peer-reviewed, open-access online journal in English aimed at
enhancing research in various disciplines of law. It was launched on January 1, 2024. The journal brings together
judges, advocates, academicians, scholars, and law students. It is an endeavor to promote high-quality legal
research. Nyayavimarsha’s board members include Dr. Subramanian Swamy, Former Cabinet Minister for Law,
and Commerce; Mr. Ram Bhushan Trivedi, Former Presiding Officer (Judge), Debt Recovery Tribunal; and Prof.
Dr. Raka Arya, Dean of Student Affairs, NLIU Bhopal, and nominated member of the 22nd Law Commission of
India.

About the Competition
This first-of-its-kind essay competition invites students and young professionals to explore critical issues in Indian
governance, policy, and society. Topics range from the implications of a hung parliament and India's China policy
to criminalization in politics and the NEET scam. Participants will present innovative ideas and solutions,
contributing to discussions on India's political, economic, and social future.

1. A House Divided: The Implications of a Hung Parliament on Democratic Governance; constitutional
safeguards
2. The Dragon's Shadow: Analyzing the Effectiveness of India's China Policy
3. Crime and Power: The Troubling Intersection of Criminalization in Politics
4. Behind the Veil: Unpacking the Controversy of the Electoral Bond Scam
5. Scandals in Education: Unraveling the NEET Scam and Its Consequences
6. The Impact of New Criminal Laws on the Justice System in India: Progress, Challenges, and Future
Directions
7. Evaluating the Accuracy of GDP Calculation in India: Is India Really the Fifth Largest Economy?
8. Abolish Income Tax? Exploring the Potential Economic Impact of Raising Interest Rates
9. The Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) 2019 in India: Legal, Social, and Political Implications.
Note for participants: These are only topics and not titles. Authors are free to choose their titles for the essays.
Eligibility
This competition is open to all undergraduate and postgraduate students from all disciplines including law,
political science, international relations, economics, and social sciences. Faculty members, researchers, and
scholars from universities and research institutions. Practitioners from various fields including law, public policy,
journalism, and economics.
Submission Guidelines
All essays should be limited to the topics mentioned in this brochure.
The essay must be written in English and submitted in Microsoft Word document format (.doc/.docx).
Each essay must be submitted by a single author only. No co-authorship is permitted.
Only a single submission is allowed per author.
Formatting specifications: Main Body: Font – Times New Roman, Font Size – 12, Line Spacing – 1.5;
Footnotes: Font – Times New Roman, Font Size – 10, Line Spacing – 1.0; Margins: 1 inch or 2.54 cm on all
sides; justified alignment.
Word limit: 2000 to 3000 words excluding footnotes. Footnotes must follow the Bluebook format of citation
(Harvard 20th edition).
All submissions should be made through the link that will be sent to the registered mail id of participants.
The essay must be accompanied by a separate document containing: Full details of the participant (name,
institution affiliation, phone number, email ID, etc.); Theme/topic chosen.
All submissions are subject to a plagiarism check and AI content check. A maximum of 10% similarity to
existing publications is permissible (excluding citations) and 5 to 10% of AI usage is permissible.

Participation and Recognition
1st prize includes a cash award of Rs. 10,000, a certificate of merit, and will be published Volume I, Issue III
of Nyayavimarsha (e-ISSN:3048-5134)
The top 7 entries will each receive a cash prize of Rs. 1000, a certificate of merit, and will be published in
Volume I, Issue III of Nyayavimarsha (e-ISSN: 3048-5134)
All participants will receive a certificate of participation.
