OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: Regarding payment of pension/family pension arrears to Pre-2016 &


Post 2016 pensioners/family pensioners on account of revision of
pension/family pension.

1. In continuation to this Department's Office Memoranda No. Fin(Pen)A(3)


1/2021-Part-I and Part-II dated 17-09-2022, the Governor, Himachal Pradesh is pleased
to order for payment of additional instalment of pension and family pension arrears to
the Pre-2016 and Post-2016pensioners and family pensioner, as under:

2. In case of those pensioners/family pensioners who have unfortunately died


and their pension/family pension isclosed permanently, the entire outstanding life time
arrears on account of revision of pension/family pension shall be paid in lump-sum to
the nominee(s)/legal heirs, as the case may be, within two months from the date of
issuance of these orders.
3. In any case, if the amount of balance arrears of pension/ family pension is
less than Rs. 5000/- (Five thousand), such arrears, shall be paid in lumpsum as final
instalment.
4. Pension Disbursing Authorities(PDA) will ensure that any extra

amount of pension/ family pension, if recoverable, shallbe adjusted from the arrears of
pension/ family pension being paid to them and only the balance amount is paid.
S. It shall be the responsibility of all the Pension Disbursing Authorities
(PDA) that arrcars as detailed at para-1 above arc drawn and disbursed to the
pensioners/family pensioners in the month of March, 2024 by all means.
