Asalamu Alaykum,

Dear Parents and Students,

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who participated in and supported our annual athletics
carnival. The enthusiasm and sportsmanship displayed by our students, combined with the
unwavering support from parents and staff, made this event a resounding success.

The carnival showcased not only athletic prowess but also the spirit of teamwork and community
that defines our school. Every race, jump, and throw was a testament to the hard work and
dedication of our students. We are incredibly proud of each participant and their achievements.

A special thank you goes to the parents who volunteered their time to be part of the event. Your
involvement was invaluable, and your presence added a layer of encouragement for all the
competitors.

We are excited to commence the Social Innovators Program, this Monday for our Year 9 students.
This initiative aims to foster a sense of community connection and environmental sustainability
through innovative business ventures.

The program will empower students to develop projects that address real-world challenges within
our community. They will work on creating sustainable business ideas that not only generate
economic value but also contribute positively to our environment and society.

Students will engage with local organisations and community members to identify pressing
issues and collaborate on solutions.
Students will learn the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, from ideation to execution,
enabling them to turn their innovative ideas into viable business plans.
Emphasising green practices, the program will encourage students to design ventures that
promote sustainability and environmental stewardship.

We have extended the invitations to organisations within the Bellfield community and beyond,
and we can not wait to have them with us during the program as they are key members of this
initiative. Their expertise and insights will be invaluable in guiding our students and enriching
their learning experience.

Stay tuned for more details about our community partners in our next edition. We believe this
program will provide our students with valuable skills and experiences that extend beyond the
classroom, preparing them to be thoughtful, responsible leaders in our community.

We look forward to the incredible projects and ideas our Year 9 students will develop through the
Social Innovators Program. Thank you for your continued support in fostering a dynamic and
forward-thinking learning environment.

CARNIVAL
The Athletics Carnival this year was a fantastic day where the Bellfield College spirit shone brightly, and
students excelled in their events. It was a celebration of talent, teamwork, and determination. Special
congratulations go to Ali Meslemani, Ali Ghadban, and Faraz Rahimi for their outstanding results throughout
the day. Their dedication and hard work truly paid off, showcasing the best of Bellfield.

A heartfelt thank you to our Year 11 students, Malak Al Samt and Waheda Shakib, for their incredible
contributions and support. Their efforts played a significant role in making the day a resounding success.

The Athletics Carnival was a memorable event that highlighted the unity and excellence of our Bellfield
community. Parents were excited to see their children's relentless sporting spirit in action. Our whole school
prayer gave everybody a beautiful breeze of gratitude to Allah (SWT) coupled with serenity amid the intense
excitement and competitiveness of the day.

We thank our staff, parents and students for their shared efforts and great moral support.

NSW State Library Writing Adventure

Bellfield College students enjoyed this special creative writing experience using the Library’s collections
as a launching point for their own writing. Students toured the Library reading rooms and galleries
stopped at designated points to engage in writing activities.

Elevate works with our students, delivering high-impact workshops on study skills, motivation,
wellbeing, and exam preparation. By tuning into their webinar series, you’ll learn how you can
help support your child at home by reinforcing the skills they’re learning at school.

Boys Haircut
Students are required to wear their hair in a neat and tidy manner.
Haircuts should be of an even grade. Hair should be well brushed and
combed and it is assumed that hair will not be in such a condition as to
invite comment.
Please be aware of the following:

Extreme styles of hair are not permitted, including unnatural hair colouring.
Gel, mousse and hair spray or other similar substances should not be used.
Styles should be conservative (steps or undercuts, lines, patterns, dreadlocks,
rat’s tails, mullets, braids, buns etc are NOT permitted)
Fringes - no longer than the top of the eyebrow
Nothing shorter than a number 4 comb is acceptable.
Hair should not touch the shirt collar.
Beards should be always be well groomed / or clean shaven.
Sideburns are to be shaved no further than level with the midpoint of the ears.
Students will not attend class and parents will be called to collect their child
from school.
Students who do not abide by the haircut requirements will be asked to fix the
identified problem and not return to school until the issue is resolved.

Regular hair blitzs will enforce these expectations.

Jewellery reminder
The wearing of jewellery is NOT permitted.
This includes; rings, necklaces, bracelets, nose piercings and earrings.
No exceptions will be made.
Confiscated items will be returned to students at the end of the term.
 Senior School Protocols
Suspension Mobile Phones
An immediate suspension will be given to a Our College is a student

permitted.

Students also have the option of handing in

their mobile phone to the senior
administration office each morning. Pick up
occurs at 3.20pm, not earlier.

Students Late to Class

Students late to class will receive a Lunchtime Detention. Late to class can be defined
simply as ‘wrong place, wrong time’. If a student is late to class / truant an entire
period they are marked as absent on the Sentral roll marking system. This is then
followed up by the class teacher and the Head of Department the next day.
Continued late to class / truancy may result in further action being taken.

Roll Call
Students must arrive prior to 8.30am and will attend period 1 class immediately after the
morning bell (8.30am). Attendance rolls will be marked at the commencement of period
1 and throughout the day occurring at the beginning of each period. Students late to
class will be issued with an ‘on the spot’ lunchtime detention.
Morning Drop off and Afternoon Pickup
Kiss and Drop
If travelling to and from school by car, pick up and drop off
is strictly via the school car line zone. Car line may be
accessed through the Junior school gate, follow the road
through to the senior school library and wait in your car for
your child. Children must wait in front of the library until
mum or dad are seen to approach the library. Students are
not permitted to wait along the grass area, nor should they
be encouraged to cross carline to enter your vehicle.

ALL students must be picked up from the car line.

NO students will be permitted to exit to enter cars parked on the street.
Gates will open at 2.45pm.
Please join the car line. No cars will be permitted to make a right turn to enter the car line.
ALL cars must exit the driveway and turn left ONLY. Right turn and U-turns will not be permitted.
Students will be lined up in family groups during afternoon pick up to allow for faster access.
Please be respectful and courteous to our staff as they are only doing their job.

Sick Bay
Illness at School

Students who are sick during the school day should:

1. See a teacher for written permission to go to the sick bay.

2. Present themselves promptly to the senior administration office.
3. Follow instructions from the administrative staff politely.
4. Stay at school until the administrative staff have contacted parents.

Students must not telephone parents to arrange for their parent/guardian to collect
them. This will be done by the office staff.
The sick bay is used for a short time only and students will be monitored by the senior
school administration officer. If the problem persists parents or caregivers will be
contacted. For serious problems, parents or caregivers will be contacted immediately and
for very serious cases medical help will be sought.
It is extremely important that the medical information in each student’s file is accurate.

If there is a change in your child’s health status, the school MUST be notified. For students
who are on medication parents are required to complete a ‘Prescribed Medication’ form
explaining the nature of the medication and give clear guidelines for administering the
medication. This form is available from the front office. Prescribed medications must be
distributed from the office.
 Lunchtime Homework
Homework is sent home every night.
