K-10 MATATAG Curriculum
This curriculum will be adopted by the elementary and secondary level of our school
since the implementation phase starts at SY 2024-2025, the Department of Education
(DepEd) is conducting the pilot implementation based on DM 54, S.2023 or the Pilot
Implementation of the MATATAG Curriculum. Moreover, the first phase of implementing the
MATATAG Curriculum will be for Kindergarten, Grades 1,4, and 7. Lastly, formal
implementation will be done in phase until 2028.
It stands for to MAke the curriculum relevant to produce competent and job-ready,
active and responsible citizens and TAke steps to accelerate the delivery of basic education
facilities and services; and TAke good care of learners by promoting learner well-being,
inclusive education, and a positive learning environment; and Give support to teachers to
teach better.
It was launched as the new direction of the Department of Education (DepEd)
towards improving the quality of basic education in the country and deals with educational
crisis. With the low ratings in terms of our education system, it was discussed that the
MATATAG Curriculum can help to attain the learner’s learning competencies by aiming to
reduce the number of learning areas and focusing in foundational skills. Moreover, 70% of
learning competencies have been taken out and it aims to have a balanced cognitive
demands and clearer articulation of 21st century skills which ensure that the country’s
basic education system is on a “par with the international standards.”
Special Subjects
Since the School of Athens caters all level from elementary to tertiary level and also,
it offers masterals to doctorate degrees. So, the school offers special subjects for every level
such as the special summer class program for learners who wants to enhance their
knowledge and skills.
For all levels we offer special programs in arts, foreign language ( Spanish, French,
German, Japanese, and Korean language), sports ( Archery, Arnis, Badminton, Chess,
Gymnastics, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Tennis, and Dance sports), and lastly, advance lessons
to elementary level ( Science, Math and English).
The special programs offered are designed for students at various grade levels,
allowing them to adapt to the program and undergo personal development. Continuous
learning leads to an evolving understanding, enhancing mental and physical well-being.
Lastly, gaining new skills boosts our confidence, ultimately leading to better overall well-
being and happiness.

Local government unit (LGU) wherein they can provide resources and others. Next, private
sector such as businesses and cooperatives that can contribute by sharing success stories
and offering valuable lessons to learners. Through their expertise and experience, they can
inspire and motivate students. Also, those professional individuals who have excelled in
their fields can serve as guest speaker or mentor and lastly, collaboration with different
universities across the world that fosters excellence. By collaborating and sharing the best
practices can lead to mutual growth of both universities.

emphasizes on inspiring and motivating the teachers and learners as they have a school
leader that adopt this approach. Moreover, the school aims to develop personal growth of
every individual in the school that is why this leadership style is more beneficial and
aligned with the school vision as it has a clear vision for the university’s future. Also, it
