(2) The removal procedures for the compression spring washers (79, 170), PN 3060863-1,
and shims (77, 165, Figure 4), PN 3075817-1, -2, -3 (as required), from the
starter-generator and alternator bearing bores of the accessory drive gearbox cover,
PN 3060810-2, are added as follows:
NOTE: Make sure the thickness and quantity of shim(s) (77, 165) that are removed
are recorded. A record of the originally-installed shim thickness is required
during installation.
(a) Remove the compression spring washers (79, 170) and shims (77, 165)
from the starter-generator and alternator bearing bores of the accessory
drive gearbox cover.
(b) Identify each group of shims as used with either the starter-generator or the
alternator.
(c) Measure and record the quantity and thickness of the shims for possible use
during assembly.
(3) Use the existing instructions in the engine LMM to clean the parts with the following
exceptions:
(a) Use Cleaning Methods, 1 and 2 for the compression spring washers (79, 170),
PN 3060863-1, and shims (77, 165), PN 3075817-1, -2, -3. Refer to Section
72-00-00, CLEANING, in the engine LMM.
(4) Use the existing instructions in the engine LMM to inspect all new parts with the
following exceptions:
(a) Inspect the shim(s) (77, 165), PN 3075817-1, -2, -3, for distortion or other
obvious damage. None is allowed.
(b) Inspect the compression spring washers (79, 170), PN 3060863-1, for
distortion or other obvious damage. None is allowed.
(5) The repair procedures are the same as for the existing hardware, with the following
exception:
(a) The new air-oil seals (85, 130, Figure 1), PN 3075815-1, are not repairable.
They must be replaced with new air-oil seals if they are unserviceable.
