Walk-in interviews for Project Position at the TISS Hyderabad off-Campus

Date of Interview: January 23, 2023

TISS is a centrally funded public university which operates from four campuses located in
Mumbai and Tuljapur in Maharashtra, Guwahati and Hyderabad; and has expanded its
education, training, research and outreach activities in several other states as well. The project
“Comprehensive Survey and Study of ST Community in Telangana State: Mapping of
Data and Resources on a Spatial Domain” has been approved for funding under the
establishment of SC ST cell by Telangana State Council of Science and Technology
(TSCOST), Department of Science and Technology (DST). highly motivated individuals with
experience of working on sponsored research projects and skills to handle field survey,
quantitative and qualitative data analysis.

Research Associate (2-Posts) to be placed at TISS, Hyderabad Off-campus

Duration of the advertised posts: Five months

Eligibility Criteria:

 Educational qualification: Masters in any Social Science discipline, (with at least one
year of work experience in research projects) .

 Have good knowledge about basic statistical techniques and statistical software like
STATA/SPSS

 Age limit 25-40

 The candidate should have good written and oral commutation skill in English and
oral communication skill in Telugu

Remuneration: Consolidated payment of Rs. 30,000/- per month.

Responsibilities:
 Designing Questionnaire

 Engage/Facilitate data collection through a household survey and Focus Group


Discussion

 Field visits in tribal Areas of Telangana

 Basic Analysis and tabulation of large survey data

 Identification of key informants from various stakeholders and conduct of qualitative


interviews

 Helping the PI/Co-PI for preparing the initial draft report

Other Conditions:

 The Institute reserves the right to relax qualification of the candidate based on the
work experience and to relax age in the case of persons already holding comparable
positions in a University/research institution of repute,

 The institute reserves the right to invite persons for interview who may not have
applied for as per the above procedure and not fill up the vacancy advertised.

 No queries or correspondence regarding issue of call letter for interview / selection of


candidates for the post will be entertained at any stage and canvassing in any form is

 The candidate under employment must bring ‘No Objection Certificate’ from their
