5E Paladin Subclass
Oath of Burning Soul
he Oath of Burning Soul calls a Paladin to
T
emulate Hrólfr, the Primal Deity of
ambition, retribution and wrath. Known as
the Hungering Flame, Hrólfr is a being of
anger whose divine might grows from the
anger others experience on the mortal
plane. When someone acts on rage, they
lend the hungering flame strength. As an Oath of
Burning Soul, you believe this is not a bad thing; there is
much abhorrence in the world that deserves the focus of
wrath.
Paladins who take the Oath of Burning Soul often join
the Order of Ashen Fang. This name derives from the
physical appearance of the Hungering Flame. Hrólfr is
an enormous lupine creature with eyes of fire and fur
that smolders in the dark, giving a silhouette of smoky
ash.
Oath of Burning Soul Tenets
Paladins who swear this oath devote themselves to the
following tenets.
Anger with Action
Anger should not be allowed to sit and fester. Instead,
use your fury as motivation to reach your goals.
Guided Fury
Taking action is important, but guiding anger into action
to reach a larger goal is ideal. When the abhorrent rise,
followers with anger to action shall lead those around
them against the threat.
Wrath is Righteous
Blind rage will cause widespread destruction. Anger
should not be wielded recklessly, but it should be drawn
upon. Like a hearth, fire can provide warmth and safety,
but if left unchecked it will burn down the home.

Burning Flames
You can use your Channel Divinity to punish those who
dare to harm you. Immediately after a creature you can
see within 60 feet of you deals damage to you with an
attack, you can use your reaction to force the attacker to
make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, the
attacker takes fire damage equal to the damage it just
dealt. On a successful save, it takes half as much
damage.
Controlled Rage
As a bonus action, you can use your Channel Divinity to
fill yourself with fueling rage. For 10 minutes, you have
advantage on Strength (Athletics) checks and you
increase your base movement speed by 20 feet.

ambition. You and creatures of your choice within 10

not incapacitated, it takes fire damage equal to your
Charisma modifier.
Wrath Incarnate
20th-level Oath of Burning Soul feature
Your constant melioration has caused you to become a
living embodiment of Hrólfr the Hungering Flame. As
an action, your being becomes wrapped in flames, as
you channel upon the aggression burning inside you.
For 1-minute, when you deal damage with a weapon
attack to a creature, if that creature has less than 30 hit
points, your attack automatically reduces the creature to
0 hit points. Join the Gamingbrew Community
