One thousand families in Barangay Sikatuna participated in the Sagip


Gutom Program sponsored by the Hapag Kainan Foundation (HKF) in
response to the Hapag Mesa Act.
To determine the beneficiaries, the barangay officials conducted home
visits and interviews based on the guidelines given by the foundation.
The foundation provided the beneficiaries with a one-year food supply.
Also, the foundation offered a short-term course for the head of the families –
automotive technology for men and bread and pastry production for women.
“Our barangay is very lucky to be the beneficiary of the Sagip Gutom
Program. This is a great help to the beneficiaries and to the barangay as a
whole,” said Barangay Captain Rosie Sampayan.
