Join the Green Initiative: Plant 20 Trees this Summer Break!
Dear Students,
As stewards of our planet, it is our collective responsibility to nurture and preserve the environment for
future generations. With the onset of summer break, we have a golden opportunity to make a meaningful
impact through a simple yet powerful act: planting trees.
We are thrilled to launch the "Green Initiative" campaign, inviting each one of you to participate in this
noble cause. The goal is simple: you and your extended family are encouraged to plant 20 trees during your
summer break. By doing so, not only will you contribute to the restoration of our ecosystem, but you
will also play a vital role in combating climate change and creating a greener, healthier world for all.
To ensure the sustainability and suitability of the trees planted, we encourage you to choose from the
following Indigenous species that are well-adapted to our local environment, or select any other tree species
based on availability:
1. Neem (Azadirachta indica)
2. Indian Beech (Pongamia pinnata)
3. Deodar (Cedrus deodara)
4. Peepal (Ficus religiosa)
5. Indian Blackberry (Jamun) (Syzygium cumini)
6. Indian Trumpet Tree (Tabebuia rosea)
7. Indian Banyan Tree (Ficus benghalensis)
Furthermore, we invite you to document your tree-planting journey by preparing a short video showcasing
your efforts. Share your experiences, insights, and the significance of your chosen tree species. Your video
will not only inspire others but will also serve as a testament to your commitment to environmental
conservation.
Care for Your Tree: Ensure that the tree is well taken care of. Regular watering and monitoring are
essential for its growth.
Share Your Contribution: Email your photos and videos to [email protected] by 22
June 2024.
In recognition of your dedication, we will be awarding prizes to the creators of the best videos, judged
based on creativity, impact, and adherence to guidelines. The felicitation ceremony will be held at school
in the presence of important dignitaries. The prize details are as follows:
1st Prize: ₹ 5100/-
2nd Prizes (3): ₹ 2100/- each
3rd Prizes (5): ₹ 1100/- each
All participants will receive certificates.
