Transfer Goals:
The students in the long run and on their own will be able to
Derive the laws of exponents and apply its concept to real-life situation.

Essential Understanding: We should follow rules to have a disciplined society. If one does not follow rules and do
whatever he/she wishes to do then there will be a chaos all around .Therefore rules are important and must be
followed in order to maintain the tranquillity of the society.

Essential Question: Why is it important to follow laws/rules in life?


I. Preliminaries
Pre-Assessment / Review: How do we evaluate algebraic expressions?
Focus: Laws of exponent
Motivation:
Students will get a piece of paper and do a certain task and a series of questions will follow.
APK:
How can we make things simpler in life?
II. Lesson Development
A. Presentation of Concepts
Students will be able to interpret the meaning of an, where n is a positive integer,
Students will be able to derive the laws of exponent; and
Students will be able to apply the laws of exponent in real-life situations.

Activity:
Students will be paired or group by three according to their column in each row and will solve some
exponential equations by applying the laws of exponent.
