Cylinder head inspecting


1.1 perform cylinder head visual inspect

1.2 inspect cylinder head for crack

1.3 measure cylinder head for warp age

1.4 check valve stem to guide clearance

2. Camshaft inspect
2.1 visually inspect cam lobe wear patter

2.2 Check camshaft run out

2.3 Measure camshaft journal diameter

2.4 Measure cam lobe height


3. Valve inspection
3.1 visually inspect valves for pits or burns in the force

3.2 Measure valve total length

3.3 Measure valve stem diameter

3.4 Check valve stem for bending

3.5 Check valve margin thickness

3.6 Check valve tip length

3.7 Check valve force angle

4. Valve spring inspection


4.1 Check spring for out of squereness

4.2 Check spring free length

4.3 Measure spring tension at installed height of _____ mm


1. Cylinder block inspection
1.1 Perform cylinder block visually inspection

1.2 Inspect cylinder liner for visual scratch, sign of boring

1.3 Inspect top of cylinder for warp age

1.4 Check cylinder for out of round or taperness

1.5 Measure piston ring end gap

1.6 Conduct main bearing failures analysis

2. Piston inspection connecting rod inspection


2.1 visually inspection for crack at the ring land skirts, pin boss and head, scuff scored skirts and
warn grooves

2.2 Measure piston diameter

2.3 Measure piston oil clearance

2.4 Measure clearance between piston groove and piston ring

2.5 Check connecting rod for twisting and bending

2.6 Check piston pin and piston bushing oil clearance

2.7 Conduct connecting rod bearing failures analysis


3. Crank shaft inspection
3.1 perform a visual inspection of the crank shaft journal for damage, wear signs of scoring,
grooves or scratches, pitting or imbedded bearing material

3.2 Check crank shaft for run out

3.3 Check crank shaft main journal and crank pin for taperness and out of roundness

3.4 Check crank shaft oil clearance

4. Oil pump inspection


4.1 visually inspect oil pump housing, gear, rotor or crescent gear for damage

4.2 Check clearance between gear and housing

4.3 Measure gear back lash
