GENERAL INFO
The furnace is used to determine the loss on ignition of cement and lime, chloride, carbon
dioxide, alkali content of cement.
- Max. temperature: 1200°C.
- The heat insulation is made of ceramic fibre.
- Heating muffle, unthreaded from the back in an only cast of refractory.
- Lateral opening door with pressure wedge and with a stop device for electric feeding when it
opens.
- Control panel is positioned on the bottom containing a digital visualized thermoregulator and
magnetic thermic for protection system.
C. USE
Check the label placed on the right side of the furnace the following data: Voltage - Maximum
temperature – Kw.
Introduce the thermocouple in the apposite hole placed on the back side.
Put the switch on “1” position in order to switch the furnace on and start the heating process.
Set the working temperature acting on the MICROPROCESSOR 1001 GEFRAN by pushing
the button INCREASE ( ▲ ) or DESCREASE ( ▼ ) up to the required temperature. The set
temperature will be stored in few seconds.
Please do not tamper with the MICROPROCESSOR 1001 GEFRAN because it has been
already set up by the manufacturer.
ALARM THRESOLD
By pressing “F” will appear: 1°) TIME ALARM – 2°) R ETURN TO THE SET POINT
By pressing this button the operator will not compromise the furnace functions and the
Security will be appointed (ALARM).
Once the working temperature has been reached the signal will turn off and will turn on in
accordance to the MICROPROESSOR functions.
The MICROPROCESSOR is provided with an over heating device.
It is advisable to maintain a new manufactured furnace at about 600°C temperature for 4
hours before using it, without putting any kind of material/object inside it.
For a long working life of the furnace it is advisable not to introduce pieces with any kind of
residual products (i.e.: oil…ect). Do not also introduce plastic materials or materials derived
from it (i.e. fibreglass…) as well.
Use the Carborundum plate provided with the furnace.
To avoid the THERMIC SHOCK do not open the furnace door during the cooling phase.

If the furnace is used during the night, it is necessary to replace the remote control switch
once a year. It is also necessary to clean the chimney that should be connected to a suction
hood.
D. SAFETY DATA
• The use, lifting, installation, maintenance and scrapping of the machine are allowed
only to qualified staff. “QUALIFIED PERSONNEL” means people who, due to their
training, experience and education, as well as knowledge of the relevant standards,
limitations and measures, have been authorised by the “PLANT SAFETY MANAGER”
to carry out any necessary activity and are able to recognise and avoid any possible
danger.
• The user must be carefully trained on the machine and the safety devices that the
machine could be eventually equipped with in order to avoid any misuse. The safety
devices have to be kept always assembled on the machine and to be daily checked.
• The constructor is available for clarification, assistance and training and declines all
responsibility for damage to things or people resulting from improper, incorrect and
negligent use by untrained personnel.
• The manufacturer recommends to follow carefully the instructions of the operating
manual as well as the safety standards concerning safety devices and general rules
of the work environment.
• Check the accordance of the machine to the Standards in force in the State where
the machine has to be installed.
• The operating manual must be carefully read by the safety manager as well as the
operators and maintenance engineers. The manual must be safeguarded and always
kept near the equipment so that it can be easily consulted whenever necessary.
• Any tampering with the appliance not pre-emptively authorised by the manufacturer
exempts the manufacturer from any responsibility for damage caused by or to it.
• The removal or tampering with safety devices entails a violation of the safety
standards (EEC Safety Standards). The manufacturer assumes no liability for any
damages.
• The machine has to be installed in places safe from fire and explosions.
• We do recommend using only original spare parts and accessories; on the contrary
the manufacturer assumes no liability.
• Be careful that any dangerous situations won’t happen during the use; Immediately
stop the machine when it is functioning irregularly. Contact the authorised Sales
Service department.
The manufacturer assumes no liability for any damage to people, animals or things
caused by a non-observance of the above given instructions.

SAFETY GUARDS
MEANING: Safety devices are all the safety measures that consist of the use of specific
technical means (repairs, safety devices) to protect people from dangers which cannot
be limited reasonably in design.
Tampering with the protections or any appliance modification could
cause risks to users or other exposed people.
DANGER The manufacturer does not assume any responsibility for direct or in
direct damage to people, things or animals following tampering with the
protections.
DANGEROUS PARTS AND RESIDUAL RISKS
The dangerous place is the space inside and around the machine where the operator
could be wounded or damaged.
During the procedures the operator could face some risks.
The risks can be eliminated following carefully the procedures written in this manual and
using suitable safety devices.
GENERAL INFO
• Before starting the standard use of the equipment, ensure that all the components
are in good working conditions and check there are no defective or damaged parts. If
necessary repair or replace any damaged part.
• In order to avoid any problem to the operator, do not touch any moving part of
the equipment during the test execution and always wear the suitable security
devices.
• The lifting of specimens having an excessive weight could injure the operator.
• Pay attention to the risks of electric shocks either for direct or indirect contact, due to
an unforeseen failure in the electric system.
• Do not subject the appliance to violent shocks.
• Do not expose the appliance to fire, extreme temperature or weld splatters.
• Avoid corrosive substances to come in touch with the equipment.
• Never wash the appliance using water sprays.
DURING THE USE
• During the use neither touch nor stand close to the moving components of the
appliance.
• During test execution pay attention to the finger squeeze and to the eventual fall
down of pieces on the operator’s feet.

LIFTING
• During the lifting take care that the machine is conveniently held and secured and
that it cannot slide.

The manufacturer assumes no liability for any damages to people and things due to a
lack of observance of these instructions and incorrect use of personal safety devices
(See laws against the accidents in force).
SAFETY AGAINST FIRE
This furnace is made of not flammable materials.
Use extinguishing methods suitable for flammable materials existing in the room.
PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES
The operator must utilize thermal protecting gloves during charge and discharge. Pay
attention when you open the furnace that can send out heat.
The door is equipped with a switching device to cut electric feeding when it is opened.
Disconnect electric feeding cable to make maintenance and repair operations in order to
avoid damages to the operator.
It is necessary to follow carefully the present instructions.
Recycling notice for the disposal of electrical and electronical devices
This symbol, placed on the device or on the package and/or on the documentation,
suggest that the device shouldn’t be dispose together with other home garbage at
the end of its life cycle.
To avoid further environment, or health-care damages, caused by the unsuitable
disposal of garbage, we kindly recommend the user to separate this device from other
different types of garbages and to recycle it in a responsible way to avoid the arguable reuse
of material resources. Indeed users must take care at the disposal of the equipment that
have to be discarded, taking them away to the next recycling site for the appropriate recycling
treatment for electrical and electronical devices. Gathering and Recycling deplete devices
allow the preservation of natural resources and grant for them the adequate treatment
respecting health and environment.
For further information about your local recycling site please contact your local city hall or city
waste treatment department. The developer, as producer of electrical and electronical
devices, will provide to finance the recycling and treatment services for deplete devices that
will come back through these recycling site accordingly the local statement.
