GROUND RULES 2024
INTER-SITIO BASKETBALL & VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT
A. WHO ARE QUALIFIED TO PLAY?
1. The player must be a bona fide resident of Barangay Bao within the electorate of the Sitio.
2. The following PROOF OF ELIGIBLITY should be attached during the submission of the master list/line-up of
players: AUTHENTICATED COPY OF BIRTH CERTIFICATE OR VALID ID. These must be submitted not later than the
schedule of the first game.
3. The players must be 15-30 years old for basketball & for the volleyball NO AGE BRACKET.
4. All 15 to 17 years old players must secure parents consent before they are allowed to play.
B. CHANGING AND ADDING OF PLAYERS
1. The team is required to submit names of players.
2. The team can change or add players (if the line-up is not yet complete) prior to their 1 st game schedule.
Updated list of entries must be duly signed by the SK Chairperson.
C. GAME REGULATION TIME
1. Fifteen (15) minutes grace period will be given before the management will declare default of the game in
favor of the opponent in the case that the other team in schedule will not arrive and double default will be
declared if both teams in schedule will not arrive after the grace period.
2. EIGHT (8) MINUTES FOR THE 1ST, 2ND, 3RD, 4th and Final QUARTERS
3. FOUR (4) MINUTES FOR THE EXTENSION TIME
D. UNIFORM
1. The team should be in uniform During the Parade/Orientation and Before the Game Started on July 13,
2024.
2. No uniform, no play.
E. GAME FORMAT: (Round robin)
1. The game format will be determined after the confirmation of the number of teams that will participate.
2. There will be three level of competition: 1. Elimination; 2. Semi-finals; 3. Finals
3. In case of: 1. Tie= Win-Over-The other will be imposed; 2. Triple Tie= Quotient system will be applied
4. Semi-finals for Basketball is a cross over match Bracket A vs. B, 1 vs. 2 , 2 vs. 1 with a twice to beat
advantage of the No. 1 team in each bracket and Finals is One game only.
5. Finals for Volleyball is one game only.
F. GAME SCHEDULE AND VENUE
1. The schedule of the game will be distributed after the opening games/program.
2. Changes in schedule due to an avoidable circumstance will be announced 2 days prior to the schedule.
3. The Barangay Bao Covered Court will be the official venue of the games, however if necessary, some of the
games will be played in the venue outside;
4. Special schedules will be conducted if necessary upon proper notice and arrangement to the involve teams;
G. PROTEST/COMPLAIN/PETITION/CLARIFICATION
1. In case of protest/petition, it can be filed in written form before, during and/or after the game. The burden
of proof in case of protest against player/s eligibility is the responsibility of the protesting party.
2. Written and verbal complain/clarification against the officiating officials or other related concern will be
entertained by the management and be acted accordingly with copy of minutes or written resolution
furnished to the involve party/s as soon as possible.
3. The team/s should file the written protest or complaint within 2 hours to make it official and pay a Protest
Fee of One Thousand Pesos (P1,000.00) for the management to take action/s. Protest Fee is refundable if it
will prosper and such Fee will be forfeited in favor of the Organizer if protest will not prosper.
H. DISCIPLINARY ACTION
1. Team or player/s misdemeanor on court and off –court related to the on-going tournament will be dealt
accordingly by the management. If necessary special committee will be composed and be empowered by an
executive order of the Kapitan upon the recommendation of Bao Sports Coordinating Desk to study and imposed
the penalty.
2. All other rules and policy not mentioned such specific rules of the game the FIBA and FIVA rules will be applied.
3. All above mentioned will serve as “guiding bar” in implementing Inter-sitio Basketball/Volleyball Tournament.
4. Player under the influence of liquor will not be allowed to play.
5. Teams who will earn two (2) defaults in their non-bearing game in the elimination round will be banned for the
next league/season.
