Specimen Nature: TOTAL ABDOMINAL HYSTERECTOMY WITH BILATERAL SALPINGECTOMY
Specimen Site: UTERUS
History: Menorrhagia.
Gross: Specimen container is labeled with the patient's name and medical record number and is unmarked for site.
Received in formalin is total abdominal hysterectomy specimen. Uterus measures 75 x 45 x 40 mm. Cervix
measuring 30 x 27 mm. Endocervical canal measures 30 x 5 mm. Maximum thickness of endometrium is 2
mm. First fallopian tube measures 40 x 5 mm second fallopian tube measuring 40 x 5 mm. Serial slicing of
first fallopian tube reveals single paratubal cyst measures 4 mm filled with clear fluid. Serial slicing of second
fallopian tube is grossly unremarkable. Representative sections are taken and submitted as follows:-
A) Anterior and posterior cervix; B) Anterior and posterior endomyometrium; C) Section from first fallopian
tube; D) Sections from second fallopian tube.

Micro: Sections show autolyzed endometrium with proliferative changes.
