11. 2002 cartons of Lassi bottles and 2618 cartons of Frooti are to be stacked in a storeroom. If each stack is of
the same height and is to contain cartons of the same type of bottles, what would be the greatest number of
cartons each stack would have?

A sweet seller has 420 kaju burfis and 150 badam burfis. He wants to stack them in such a way that each
stack has the same number, and they take up the least area of the tray. Find number of kaju barfis and
badam barfis that were placed in each stack and also find number of stacks formed.
12. Find the zeroes of the quadratic polynomial p(x) = 25x ❑2 +5x and verify the relationship between the zeroes
and their coefficients.

13. A railway half ticket costs half the full fare and the reservation charge is the same on half ticket as on full
ticket. One reserved first class ticket from Mumbai to Delhi costs ₹ 4150 while one full and one half reserved
first class tickets cost ₹ 6255. What is the basic first class full fare and what is the reservation charge?

15. In a school there are two sections, namely A and B, of class X. There are 30 students in section A and 28
students in section B. Find the minimum number of books required for their class library so that they can be
distributed equally among students of section A or section B.

A wine seller had three types of wine. 403 litres of 1st kind, 434 litres of 2nd kind and 465 litres of 3rd kind.
Find the least possible number of casks of equal size in which different types of wine can be filled without
mixing.
16. Read the following statement carefully and deduce about the sign of the constants p, q, and r. “The zeroes of
a quadratic polynomial p x 2+ qx+r are both negatives.”

17. By the graphical method, find whether the pair of equations x + y = 3, 3x + 3y = 9 is consistent or not. If

If we buy 2 tickets from station A to station B, and 3 tickets from station A to station C, we have to pay ₹ 795.
But 3 tickets from station A to B and 5 tickets from A to C cost a total of ₹ 1300. What is the fare from station
A to B and that from station A to C?

19. Vijay had some bananas, and he divided them into two lots A and B. He sold first lot at the rate of ₹ 2 for 3
bananas and the second lot at the rate of ₹ 1 per banana and got a total of ₹ 400. If he had sold the first lot
at the rate of ₹ 1 per banana and the second lot at the rate of ₹ 4 per five bananas, his total collection
would have been ₹ 460. Find the total number of bananas he had.

It can take 12 hours to fill a swimming pool using two pipes. If the pipe of larger diameter is used for four
hours and the pipe of smaller diameter for 9 hours, only half of the pool can be filled. How long would it take
for each pipe to fill the pool separately?

responsibility for the safety of their buildings’ occupants, architects must be professionally licensed. Vishu is
a licensed architect and design very innovative house. She has made a house layout for her client which is
given below. In the layout, the design and measurements has been made such that area of two bedrooms
and kitchen together is 95 square metres.

22. Read the passage carefully and answer the following questions.
The angry Arjun carried some arrows for fighting with
Bheeshm. With the half of the arrows, he cut down the
arrows thrown by Bheeshm on him and with six other
arrows, he killed the charioteer of Bheeshm. With one
arrow each, he knocked down respectively the chariot,
flag and the bow of Bheeshma. Finally, with one more
than four times the square root of arrows, he laid
Bheeshm unconscious on an arrow bed.
