About SASMIRA
The Synthetic & Art Silk Mills’ Research Association (SASMIRA) is a
cooperative venture of the Man-Made Textile Industry of India. Set up in
the year 1950, SASMIRA is responsible for developing and managing the
scientific and technological needs of the industries. It is recognized by the
Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, under the Ministry of
Science & Technology, and is approved body of the Ministry of Textiles,
Government of India.

SASMIRA commenced operations with the testing and then expanded its
activities to keep pace with the evolving needs of the man-made textile
industry. Over time it further broadened its portfolio to cater to the
escalating demands of the emerging technical textiles’ industry. Over the
seven decades of its existence, SASMIRA has aptly demonstrated its
credentials, serving the textile industry and accelerating its growth in the
areas of Management and Fashion Education.

About SIMSR
Sasmira’s Institute of Management Studies and Research is located in Worli,
Mumbai. Accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), SIMSR
belongs to the family of seventy-four years old SASMIRA. The Institute courses
are approved by AICTE and affiliated to the University of Mumbai.

The Management programme taught in the Institute is designed with a clear


vision of what the future holds for business and industry. Our institute offers
programmes that strongly emphasize on the challenges faced by business not

About the Faculty Development Programme
A Faculty Development Programme (FDP) focused on
Systematic Literature Review (SLR) and Bibliometric Analysis
has been designed to equip academicians, research scholars
and industry professionals with the skills and knowledge to
conduct comprehensive literature reviews and analyze
scholarly data effectively.
This FDP is crucial for enhancing research quality, improving
publication prospects, and fostering a robust research
environment.
This programme would help academicians, research scholars
and industry professionals not only in producing high-quality
literature reviews but also in understanding the broader
context of their research through bibliometric analysis,
ultimately contributing to their overall research effectiveness
and output.
Objectives of the FDP
To gain an understanding of systematic literature review and
bibliometric analysis, including essential concepts, methodologies,
terminologies and their importance in academic research.
To provide hands-on experience in using software and tools used for
bibliometric analysis.
Learn to interpret bibliometric data and effectively present findings
through reports, presentations, and publications.
To equip participants with the skills and knowledge needed to
effectively perform bibliometric studies, understand research metrics,
and apply these insights to enhance academic research and institutional
strategy.

The FDP aims to equip faculty members with the skills necessary to conduct
thorough systematic literature reviews, perform insightful bibliometric
analyses, and effectively communicate their findings, thereby advancing
their research capabilities and contributing to the broader academic
community.
