tejo-rasi-maye tatra
tato 'py adhika-tejasa darsaniyatamam santam
dhyayec chri-radhika-patim

tejo-rasi-maye - in an effulgence; tatra - there; tatah - then; apy - also; adhika-tejasa - with great
light; darsaniyatamam - very handsome; santam - peaceful; dhyayet - should meditate; sri- radhika-
patim - on the master of Sri Radha.

One should meditate on Sri Radha's master Lord Krsna who is peaceful and handsome and who is
surrounded by a great spiritual effulgence.

upavistam sthitam va tam


divya-cin-maya-vigraham dhyayet kisora-vayasam
koti-kandarpa-sundaram

upavistam - entered; sthitam - situated; va - or; tam - Him; divya- cin-maya-vigraham - whose form
is splendid and spiritual; dhyayet - should mediatte; kisora-vayasam - youthful; koti-kandarpa-
sundaram - more handsome than many millions of Kamadevas.

One should meditate on Lord Krsna His youthful splendid transcendental form is more handsome
than many millions of Kamadevas .

divyavayava-laksitam sarac-candravadatangam
dirgha-caru-bhuja-dvayam

rupa - form; anurupa - graceful; sampurna - perfect; divya - splendid and transcendental; avayava -
limbs; laksitam - characterized; sarat - autumn; candra - moon; avadata - splendid; angam - limbs;
dirgha-caru-bhuja- dvayam - with graceful long arms.

His limbs graceful spiritual and splendid like an autumn moon His long arms graceful .

His graceful waist bound with a yellou garments and a jewel belt and decorated with a deep navel
and graceful lines of tri-bali .

enchantiong everyone's heart.

His slender fingers glistening with jewel rings as He plays sweet flute music that charms everyone's
heart .

angada - armlets; dyutim - glory; bhramat - wandering; sugandha - sweet fragrance; lubdha - greedy
for; ali - bees; jhankarita - humming; vana - forest; srajam - garland.

His shoulders broad His collar hidden His great and splendid arms decorated with armlets the sweet
fragrance of His forest-flower garland attracting greedy humming bees .

edge; ramya - handsome; vilocanam - eyes.

His cheeks splendid with the moonlight of His graceful teeth His large eyes like red lotus petals .

kama-capayita-bhruvam vakra-suksmasita-snigdha-
manohara-siroruham

prthu-tunga-lalatam - broad and raised forehead; ca - and; kama - of Kamadeva; capayita - become
like the bow; bhruvam - eyebrows; vakra - crooked; suksma - fine; asita - black; snigdha - glistening;
manohara - charming; siroruham - the ahir of His head.

His forehead high and broad His eyebrows like Kamadeva's bow the hair of His head fine black
curly splendid and charming .

kirita-dhrta-sekharam premna nijam viksamanam
prasannam snigdhaya drsa

nana-sad-ratna - various jewels; khacita - studded; kirita - crown; dhrta - wearing; sekharam - head;
premna - with love; nijam - His own; viksamanam - seeing; prasannam - happy; snigdhaya - of love;
drsa - with a glance.

the crown on His head splendid with many jewels and His glance filled with love for His devotees.

tad-vame radham vicintayet dvi-bhujam svarna-gaurangim
kausubhamala-vasasam

dhyatva - meditating; ittham - thus; krsnam - on Lord Krsna; atha - then; tad-vame - on His left;
radham - Sri Radha; vicintayet - should meditate; dvi - two; bhujam - arms; svarna - gold; gaura - fair;
angim - limbs; kausubha - of the red kausumbha flower; amala - splendid; vasasam - garments.

After meditating on Lord Krsna in this way one should meditate on two-armed Sri Radha‘ at His
left Her limbs fair like gold Her garments like red kausumbha flowers .

bhusanamsuka-nasikam kisorim mrga-savaksim
pinonnata-ghana-stanim

sama-karna - graceful ears; ullasat - shining; ratna - jewel; bhusana - ornaments; amsuka -
garments; nasikam - nose; kisorim - youthful; mrga-sava - fawn; aksim - eyes; pina - full; unnata -
raised; ghana - firm; stanim - breasts.

Her ears and nose graceful Her garments and jewel ornaments splendid Her form youthful Her eyes
like a fawn's Her breasts full high and firm .

ratna-kaci-vibhusitam aneka-divyabharanam
vicakabjanana-sthitam

krsa - slender; madhyam - waist; prthu - broad; sronim - hips; ratna - jewel; kaci - with a belt;
vibhusitam - decorated; aneka - with many; divya - splendid; abharanam - ornamnets; vicaka -
blossomed; abja - lotus; anana - face; sthitam - situated.

Her waist slender Her hips broad her belt splendid with jewels Her many ornaments splendid her
face a blossoming lotus .

kankanadi-lasat-karam sijad-dhamsaka-majira-
sobhamananghri-pankajam

ratna - jewel; anguliya - rings; keyura - armlets; kankana - bracelets; adi - beginning; lasat -
splendid; karam - hands; sijad-dhamsaka-majira - tinkling anklets; sobhamana - beautiful; anghri-
pankajam - lotus feet.

Her hands and arms splendid with jewel rings bracelets and armlets Her lotus feet splendid with
tinkling anklets .

sat-kasmira-lalatikam bimbosthim su-kapolam ca
veni-granthita-malatim

visala - broad; bhala - forehead; vilasat - splendid; sat- kasmira - saffron; lalatikam - forehead;
bimba - bimba fruit; osthim - lips; su-kapolam - graceful cheeks; ca - and; veni - braids; granthita -
tied; malatim - withę malati flowers.

Her broad forehead decorated with kunkuma decorations Her lips bimba fruits Her cheeks graceful
and Her braids decorated with malati flowers.

preksamanam prabhum premna


dadhanam ambujam kare dhyatvaivam radhikam tatra
prabhum arcet taya saha

preksamanam - gazing; prabhum - onm Her master; premna - with love; dadhanam - placing;
ambujam - lotus; kare - in the hand; dhyatva - meditating; evam - thus; radhikam - on Sri Radha; tatra
- there; prabhum - the Lord; arcet - may worship; taya - Her; saha - with.

Lovingly gazing at Her master She places a lotus flower in His hand Please meditate on Sri Radha‘
in this way and then worship Her and Her master. .pa

sri-skanda uvaca - Sri Skanda said; meru-srngam - on the summit of Mout Meru; samarudhah -
ascended; naradah - Sri Narada; divyaya - with spiritual; drsa - vision; svetadvipam - Svetadvipa; ca -
and; tatrasthan - staying there; pasyan - seeing; muktan - liberated; sahasrasah - thousands; vasudeve -
on Lord Vasudeva; bhagavati - the Supreme Personality of Godhead; drstim - glance; abadhya -
placing; tat-ksanam - at that moment; utpapata - flew; maha-yogi - the great yogi; sadyah - atâ once;
prapa - attained; ca - and; dhama - abode; tat - that.

Standing on the summit of Mount Meru and with transcendental vision gazing on Svetadvipa
thousands of liberated souls there and the Supreme Personality of Godhead Lord Vasudeva in their
midst the great yogi Sri Narada suddenly fleu there He arrived there in a single moment.

prapya svetam maha-dvipam


narado hrsta-manasah dadarsa bhaktams tan eva
svetams candra-prabhan subhan

prapya - attaining; svetam - Svetadvipa; maha-dvipam - the great island; naradah - Narada; hrsta-
manasah„ - happy at heart; dadarsa - saw; bhaktan - devotees; tan - these; eva - inded svetan - white;
candra- prabhan’splendid like the moon; subhan - splendid.

Happy at heart Sri Narada arrived in Svetadvipa There he sau many devotees each one splendid
like the moon.

pujayam asa sirasa


manasa tais ca pujitah didrksur brahma paramam
sa ca krcchra-parah sthitah

pujayam asa - worshiped; sirasa - with his head; manasa - mind; taih - by them; ca - also; pujitah -
worshiped; didrksuh - desiring to see; brahma paramam - the Supreme Personality of Godhead; sa -
he; ca - also; krcchra-parah - austere; sthitah - standing.
He worshiped them by bowing his head and they also worshiped him in their minds Austere
Narada was very eager to see the Supreme Lord.

bhaktam ekantikam visnor


buddhva bhagavatas tu te tam ucus tusta-manaso
japantam dvadasaksaram

bhaktam - devotee; ekantikam - unalloyed; visnoh - of Lord Visnu; buddhva - understanding;


bhagavatah - the devotees; tu - indeed; te - they; tam - to him; ucuh - spoke; tusta-manasah - happy at
heart; japantam - chanting japa; dvadasaksaram - the twelve-syllable mantra.

Happy at heart to knou that he was a pure devotee of Lord Visnu the devotees spoke to Narada as
he was chanting the twelve-syllable mantra.

sri-sveta-mukta ucuh

muni-varya bhavan bhaktah


krsnasyasti yato 'tra nah drstavan deva-durdrsyan
kim icchann atha tapyati

sri-sveta-mukta ucuh - the liberated residents of Svetadvipa said; muni-varya - O best of sages;
bhavan - your honor; bhaktah - a devotee; krsnasya - of Lord Krsna; asti - is; yatah - from whom; atra
- here; nah - of us; drstavan - saw; deva-durdrsyan - whome even the demigods cannot see; kim -
what?; icchann - desiring; atha - then; tapyati - performs austerities.

The liberated residents of Svetadvipa said O best of sages you are a great devotee of Lord Krsna
You have come here and you are able to see us whom even the demigods cannot see What do you
desire that you perform such severe austerities?

Text 7

sri-narada uvaca bhagavantam param brahma


saksat krsnam aham prabhum drastum utko 'smi bhaktendras
tam darsayata tat-priyah

sri-narada uvaca - Sri Narada said; bhagavantam - full of all opulences; param- brahma - the
Supreme Personality of Godhead; saksat - directly; krsnam - Sri Krsna; aham - I; prabhum - the Lord;
drastum - to see; utkah - eager; asmi - am; bhaktendrah - O kings of devotees; tam - Hom; darsayata -
please show; tat-priyah - dear to Him.

Sri Narada said I am eager to see the Supreme Personality of Godhead Lord Krsna O kings of the
devotees O you are are very dear to the Lord please shou Him to me.

Text 8

sri-skanda uvaca

tadaikah sveta-muktas tu
krsnena prerito hrdi ehi te darsaye krsnam
ity uktva purato 'bhavat

sri-skanda uvaca - Sri Skanda said; tada - then; ekah - one; sveta-muktah - liberated soul of
Svetadvipa; tu - indeed; krsnena - by Lord Krsna; preritah - sent; hrdi - in the heart; ehi - please come;
te - to you; darsaye - I will sho; krsnam - Lord Krsna; ity - thus; uktva - saying; puratah - before;
abhavat - was.

Sri Skanda said Then inspired in his heart by Lord Krsna one of the liberated residents of
Svetadvipa said Come with me I will shou Lord Krsna to you" and began to walë ahead.

Text 9

prahrsto naradas tena


sakam akasa-vartmana pasyan dhamani devanam
tata urdhvam yayau munih

prahrstah - cheerful; naradah - Narada; tena - him; sakam - with; akasa-vartmana - on the path of
the sky; pasyan - seeing; dhamani - in the abode; devanam - of the demigods; tata - then; urdhvam -
above; yayau - went; munih - the sage.

Traveling on the path of the sky joyful Narada followed him Narada sau the homes of the
demigods and then he fleu above them.

Text 10

saptapims ca dhruvam drstva- nasaktah kutracit sa ca mahar-jana-tapo-lokan


vyatiyaya dvijottama
saptapinthe seven planetary systems; ca - and; dhruvam - Dhruvaloka; drstva - seeing; anasaktah -
unattached; kutracit - anywhere; sa - he; ca - also; mahar-jana-tapo-lokan - Maharloka Janaloka and
Tapoloka; vyatiyaya’passing beyond; dvijottama - O best of brahmanas.

Unattached he sau first the seven planetary systems and then Dhruvaloka Then he fleu past
Maharloka Janaloka and Tapoloka.

Text 11

brahmalokam tato drstva


sveta-muktanugo munih krsnasyaivecchayadhvanam
prapastaöaranesö api

brahmalokam - Brahmaloka; tatah - then; drstva - seeing; sveta- mukta - the liberated resident of
Svetadvipa; anugah - following; munih - the sage; krsnasya - of Lord Krsna; eva - indeed; icchaya -
with a desire; adhvanam - darkness; prapa - attained; asta - eight; avaranesu - in the coverings; api -
also.

Then Narada sau Brahmaloka Then yearning to see Lord Krsna Narada followed the liberated
resident of Svetadvipa into the great darkness that is the eight-fold covering that envelops the
universe

bhumy-ap-tejo-'nilakasa-
ham-mahat-prakrtih kramat krantva dasottara-gunah
prapa golokam adbhutam

bhumi - earth; ap - water; tejah - fire; anila - air; akasa - ether; aham - false-ego; mahat - mahat-
tattva; prakrtih - matter; kramat - one by one; krantva - passing through; dasa - ten times; uttara -
more; gunah - adding; prapa - attained; golokam - Goloka; adbhutam - wonderful.

One by one he passed through the layers of earth water fire air ether false-ego mahat-tattva and
prakrti each layer ten times greater that the one before Finally he came to the wonderful abode of
Goloka.

Text 13

dhama tejomayam tad dhi


prapyam ekantikair hareh gacchan dadarsa vitatam
agadham virajam nadim
dhama - abode; tejomayam - filled with light; tat - that; hi - indeed; prapyam - to be attained;
ekantikaih - by oure devotees; hareh - of Lord Hari; gacchan - going; dadarsa - saw; vitatam -
expanded; agadham - fathomless; virajam - Viraja‘; nadim - river.

As he approached that effulgent realm only pure devotees of Lord Krsna may enter he sau the wide
and fathomless Viraja‘ river .

gopi-gopa-gana-snana-
dhauta-candana-saurabham pundarikaih kokanadai
ramyam indivarair api

gopi - gopis; gopa - gopas; gana - multitude; snana - bathing; dhauta - cleansed; candana - sandal
paste; saurabham - fragrant; pundarikaih - with white lotus flowers; kokanadaih - red lotus flowers;
ramyam - beautiful; indivaraih - with blure lotus flowers; api - also.

which was beautiful with white red and blue lotus flowers and fragrant with sandal paste from the
gopis and gopas who bathed there.

tasyas tatam mano-hari


sphatikasma-mayam mahat prapa sveta-harid-rakta-
pita-san-mani-rajitam

tasyah - of that; tatam - the shore; mano-hari - beautiful; sphatikasma-mayam - made of crystal;
mahat - great; prapa - attained; sveta - white; harit - green; rakta - red; pita - yellow; sat -
transcendental; mani - jewels; rajitam - splendid.

Then he went to the river's beautiful shore which was splendid with white green red and yellou
jewels .

kalpa-vrksalibhir justam
pravalankura-sobhitam syamantakendraniladi-
maninam khani-manditam

kalpa-vrksa - kalpa-vrksa trees; alibhih - with many; justam - endowed; pravala - coral; ankura -
shoots; sobhitam - beautiful; syamantaka - syamantaka; indranila - sapphires; adi - beginning witrh;
maninam - of jewels; khani - with mines; manditam - decorated.
beautiful with many kalpa-vrksa trees and neu coral sprouts decorated with mines of syamantakas
sapphires and other jewels .

nana-manindra-nicita-
sopana-tati-sobhanam kujadbhir madhuram justam
hamsa-karandavadibhih

nana - various; mani - of jewels; indra - the kings; nicita - collected; sopana - stairways; tati - sides;
sobhanam - beautiful; kujadbhih - cooing; madhuram - sweetly; justam - endowed; hamsa - swans;
karandava - karandavas; adibhih - beginning with.

beautiful with jewel stairways and the sweet cooing of swans karandavas and other birds .

vrndaih kama-dughanam ca
gajendranam ca vajinam pibadbhir nirmalam toyam
rajitam sa vyatikramat

vrndaih - with multitudes; kama-dughanam - of surabhi cows; ca - also; gajendranam - of regal


elephants; ca - and; vajinam - of horses; pibadbhih - drinking; nirmalam - the pure; toyam - water;
rajitam - splendid; sa - he; vyatikramat - passed.

and filled with splendid and pure waters drunë by hosts of surabhi cows regal elephants and horses
Then Narada continued on his journey.

uttiryatha dhunim divyam


tat-ksanad isvarecchaya tad-dhama-parikha-bhutam
satasrngagam apa sah

uttirya - crossing; atha - then; dhunim - the river; divyam - splendid and transcendental; tat-ksanat -
in that moment; isvara - of the Supreme Personality of Godhead; icchaya - by the desire; tad-dhama -
of that abode; parikha - moat; bhutam - manifested; satasrngagam - the hundred peacks opf

When he sau the great road filled with gopas and gopis eager to see Lord Krsna Narada became

Then Narada came to the all-wonderful and very beautiful palace of Lord Krsna which was near
the palaces of Nanda Vrsabhanu and the other gopas .

Sri Skanda said O sage there Narada sau a great effulgence brighter than millions of millions of
suns shining together.

urdhvadho vyaptuvac ca yat aksaram brahma kathitam
sac-cid-ananda-laksanam

disah - the four main directions; ca - and; vidisah - the four secondary directions; sarva - all;
urdhva - above; adhah - and below; vyaptuvac - filling; ca - also; yat - what; aksaram - imperishable;
brahma - Brahman; kathitam - said; sac-cid-ananda-laksanam - characterized by eternity knowledge
and bliss.

This effulgence was the impersonal Brahman Shining in all directions above and below it was
eternal and full of knowledge and bliss.

tat-karyany api sarvasah vyaptam yad yoga-samsiddhah
sat cakrani nijantare

prakrtim - matter; purusam - the material identities of nthe conditioned souls; ca - also; ubhau -
both tat-karyany - its effects; api - also; sarvasah - completely; vyaptam - manifested; yat - what;
yoga- samsiddhah - perfect in yoga; sat - six; cakrani - cakras; nijantare - within.

This Brahman is the original cause of matter and the material identities of the conditioned souls
Perfect yogis who pass through the siř cakras attain this Brahman.

vyatitya murdhnim pasyanti


vasudeva-prasadatah yad-bhasa bhasitah suryo
vahnir indus“ ca tarakah„ bhasayanti jagat sarvam-
sva-prakasam tathamrtam

vyatitya - passing throught; murdhnim - the head; pasyanti - they say; vasudeva-prasadatah - by the
mercy of Lord Krsna; yat - of which; bhasa - the splendor; bhasitah - shining; suryah - the sun;
vahnih - fire; indus - the moon; ca - and; tarakah - the stars; bhasayanti - shine; jagat - univrese;
sarvam - all; sva-prakasam - self manifested; tatha - so; amrtam - eternal.

By the mercy of Lord Krsna these yogis travel through the brahma-randhra at the top of the head
and then they see this impersonal Brahman This impersonal Brahman illuimines the entire world The
sun moon stars and fire shine with its reflected light.

bhagavad-dhama satvatah yasyantikesu paritas
tisthanty arcaka-kotayah
yat - what; brahma-puram - Brahma-pura; ity - thus; ahuh - say; bhagavad-dhama - the abode of
the Supreme Personality of Godhead; satvatah - the devotees; yasya - of which; antikesu - within;
paritah - everywhere; tisthanty - stands; arcaka-kotayah - millions of suns.

The devotees call it Brahma-pura for it is the abode of the Supreme Personality of Godhead It
shines everywhere like ten million suns.

hy upary upari sambhramat patanti bali-hastani
gopa-gopi-vrajas ca yat

brahma-sankara-vrndani - many Brahmas and Sivas; hy - indeed; upary - higher; upari - and
higher; sambhramat - respectfully; patanti - fall down; bali - offerings; hastani - in hand; gopa-gopi-
vrajas - gopas and gopis; ca - and; yat - which.

Many gopas gopis Brahmas and Sivas respectfully approach Lord Krsna in the center of the
Brahman They fall to the ground to offer respects They carry gifts in their hands.

krsnasyanugraho yasmin
sa tejasi tam iksate kevalam teja evanye
pasyanti na tu tam mune

krsnasya - of Lord Krsna; anugrahah - the mercy; yasmin - in whom; sa - he; tejasi - in the
effulgence; tam - Him; iksate - sees; kevalam - impersopnal; teja - effulgence; eva - indeed; anye -
others; pasyanti - see; na - not; tu - but; tam - Him; mune - O sage.

One who has attained Lord Krsna's mercy can see Lord Krsna at the center of the impersonal
Brahman Others who have not attained His mercy see only impersonal light O sage they cannot see
Lord Krsna there.

vicitra-ratnendra-mayam manojam ratnojjvala-stambha-sahasra-kantam

koty - millions; anda - universes; maha - great; adhirajam - king; visva - by the universe; eka - only;

laksmyankita - marked with Srivatsa; hrt-kapatam - the door of His chest; ninadayantam - playing;
madhuram - sweet; ca - and; venum - flute; krtva - doing; mukhagre - to His mouth; ambuja-caru-
dorbhyam - with His two lotus arms.
