1 Using a different bending machine
The process is demonstrated using the example of a Xpert 80 bending machine for an MBC
NS3 bending cell and has to be adapted to the effective needs.
Default MBC NS3 with Xpert 40 MBC NS3 with Xpert 80
1.1 Import the Xpert 80 bending machine
• Navigate to ‘Display master data’

• Open tab ‘Stations’ → ‘Bending machines’
• Click button ‘Import’
• Choose the following import folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Bystronic\ByVisionRo-
botAdministrator\DefaultData\BendingMachines
• Select the Xpert 80 bending machine → Click ‘Ok’
• After successfully importing the bending machine BVRA displays a message → Click
‘Ok’
1.2 Adapt the default cell configuration to use the Xpert 80
• Navigate to the tab ‘Cell geometries’
• Click button ‘Refresh’
• Select the bending cell to adapt, e.g. ‘Robot Cell NS3’

• Duplicate the selected bending cell and enter a name, e.g. ‘Robot Cell NS3 Xpert 80’
If a customer uses its MBRs only with Xpert 80 bending machines and
never wants to attach it to an Xpert 40 bending machine, there is no
need to duplicate the existing default cell configuration. Instead, the
default cell configuration can be changed directly.
• Select the station connection of the bending machine
• Select the imported Xpert 80 from the ‘Station’ dropdown

• Adapt the ‘Position’ of the Xpert 80 on the station link → set X = 1000 mm
• Adapt the ‘Name’ of the station if desired
• Click button ‘Save’
After any kind of modifications on the bending machine always make
sure, that the ByVision Bending System data gets imported into the
RobotSystem data as described in chapter ‘4.7 Transfer bending ma-
chine data from the ByVision Bending System’ of the BySoft CAM Bend
Robot Installation Manual.
• Execute steps from chapter ‘6 Synchronize the updated cell data to the machine and
adapt automation settings’ as required

2 Using a different table for the bending machine
The process is demonstrated using the example of a T5 table for a Xpert 40 bending ma-
chine and has to be adapted to the effective needs.
Default Xpert 40 with T12 table Xpert 40 with T5 table
2.1 Import the table

• Click button ‘Import’
• Choose the following import folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Bystronic\ByVisionRo-
botAdministrator\DefaultData\Components
• Select the Xpert 40 Table T5 → Click ‘Ok’
• After successfully importing the table BVRA displays message → Click ‘Ok’
2.2 Adapt the default bending machine configuration to use the
T5 table
• Navigate to the tab ‘Stations’ → ‘Bending machines’
• Click button ‘Refresh’
• Select the desired bending machine

• Select the part connection of the table
• Select the T5 table from the ‘Part’ dropdown
• Make sure that the ‘Higher-level link’ (Xpert 40 Casing) and ‘Higher-level slot’ (Table)
are still correct
• Click button ‘Save’
• Select the axis connection ‘Xpert 40 ZB1’

• Make sure that the ‘Higher-level link’ (Xpert 40 Table T5) and ‘Higher-level slot’ (ZB-
Axes) are correct
• Select the axis connection ‘Xpert 40 ZB2’
• Make sure that the ‘Higher-level link’ (Xpert 40 Table T5) and ‘Higher-level slot’ (ZB-
Axes) are correct
• Select the ‘Bending machine’
• Make sure that the ‘Part connection for lower tool’ (Xpert 40 Table T5) is correct
• Make sure that the ‘Slot for lower tool’ (Lower tools T5) is correct
• Click button ‘Save’ if required
After any kind of modifications on the bending machine always make
sure, that the ByVision Bending System data gets imported into the
RobotSystem data as described in chapter ‘4.7 Transfer bending ma-

3 Using a different tool clamping for the bending
machine
The process is demonstrated using the example of an XPT clamping for a Xpert 40 bending
machine and has to be adapted to the effective needs.
Default Xpert 40 with RFA clamping Xpert 40 with XPT clamping
3.1 Import the tool clamping

• Make sure that the ‘Higher-level link’ (Xpert 40 Upper Beam) is still correct
• Select ‘Tool clamp WILA NSCLII XPT’ from the ‘Higher-level slot’ dropdown
• Click ‘Save’
• Select the ‘Bending machine’
• Make sure that the ‘Part connection for upper tool’ (Xpert 40 Tool Clamp WILA NSCLII
XPT) is correct
• Make sure that the ‘Slot for upper tool’ (Upper tools WILA NSCLII XPT) is correct
• Click button ‘Save’ if required
After any kind of modifications on the bending machine always make

4 Using a single load-/unload station for the MBC
The process is demonstrated using the example of a Big Pallet for an MBR2.0 bending cell
and has to be adapted to the effective needs.
Default MBR2.0 with two pallets MBR2.0 with single big pallet
4.1 Import the load-/unload station aka big pallet
• Navigate to ‘Display master data’

• Click button ‘Import’
• Choose the following import folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Bystronic\ByVisionRo-

• Select the Big Pallet → Click ‘Ok’
• After successfully importing the bending machine BVRA displays a message → Click
‘Ok’
4.2 Adapt the default cell configuration to use the Big Pallet
• Navigate to the tab ‘Cell geometries’
• Click button ‘Refresh’
• Select the bending cell to adapt, e.g. ‘Robot Cell MBR2.0’

• Duplicate the selected bending cell and enter a name, e.g. ‘Robot Cell MBR2.0 Big
Pallet’
If a customer uses its MBRs only equipped with the big pallet configu-
ration and never wants to change back to the default dual pallet con-
figuration, there is no need to duplicate the existing default cell config-
uration. Instead, the default cell configuration can be changed directly.
• Select the station connection of the old load-/unload stations (Pallet 41, Pallet 42)
• Click button ‘Delete station connection’

• Select the station connection to the now unneeded ‘Casing pallet holder’
• Click button ‘Delete station connection’
• Select ‘Cell’

• Define a name for the new station connection ‘Big Pallet’
• Select ‘Big Pallet MBR’ from the ‘Station’ dropdown

• Select ‘Casing fix’ from the ‘Higher-level station link’ dropdown
• Select ‘Base frame NS2 + NS3 + MBR2.0’ from the ‘Higher-level part link’ dropdown
• Select ‘Big pallet’ from the ‘Higher-level slot’ dropdown
• Click button ‘Save’

5 Using a conveyor belt as unload station for the
MBC
The process is demonstrated using the example of a conveyor belt for an MBR2.0 bending
cell and has to be adapted to the effective needs.

5.1 Import the conveyor belt

• Select the appropriate conveyor belt → Click ‘Ok’
• After successfully importing the bending machine BVRA displays a message → Click
‘Ok’
5.2 Adapt the default cell configuration to use the conveyor belt
• Navigate to the tab ‘Cell geometries’
• Click button ‘Refresh’
• Select the bending cell to adapt, e.g. ‘Robot Cell MBR2.0’

• Change the name for the station connection to ‘Conveyor belt’
• Select the appropriate conveyor belt from the ‘Station’ dropdown, e.g. ‘Conveyor belt
DE NS3+MBR2.0’
• Keep the existing ‘Station number’, ‘Higher-level station link’ and ‘Higher-level part
link’
• Select the appropriate conveyor belt slot, e.g. ‘Conveyor belt DE’ from the ‘Higher-
level slot’ dropdown
• Click button ‘Save’
• Execute steps from chapter ‘6 Synchronize the updated cell data to the machine and
adapt automation settings’ as required

6 Synchronize the updated cell data to the machine
and adapt automation settings
As described in chapter ‘5 Settings ByVision Robot’ of the BySoft CAM Bend Robot Installa-
tion Manual, make sure, that the updated cell data gets synchronized to the real machine. If
a separated, local data storage is used for the offline programming environment and for the
online machine system the updated cell data needs to be exported from the offline program-
ming environment and then imported via the Administrator ByVision Robot on the bending
cell.
Furthermore, the automation settings need to be adapted, so that the correct cell configura-
tion is used on the machine.
• Go to tab ‘Automation’
• Choose the appropriate cell in the dropdown ‘Cell geometry’
• Click button ‘Save’
• Restart ByVision Robot
