3 – 5 YEARS DEVELOPMENT PLAN
This document presents a comprehensive plan for the Gaunavou Rugby Club
for the next 3 to 5 years. This plan outlines strategic goal, objective and
initiative aimed at enhancing the overall growth and success of the club. We
believe that by implementing this plan, we can elevate GAUNAVOU RUGBY
CLUB to new heights both on and off the field.
1.0] VISION STATEMENT
Our vision is to become a premier rugby club known for excellence in player
development, community engagement and organization stability. This includes
other sports such as netball, volleyball, soccer and other interested sports

Our mission is to provide a supportive and inclusive environment that foster
the growth and development of rugby players at all level, while actively
engaging with the community to promote the sport and other sports and its
values.
3.0] STATEGIC GOALS
3.1] Player Development
Focus on creating a robust player development pathway, encompassing youth,
junior, and senior level, to nurture talent and ensure a continuous pipeline of
skilled players.
3.2] Community Engagement
Establish strong relationship with local school, organization, and community
group to promote rugby, provide opportunities for participation, and
contribute positively to the community.
3.3] Coaching and Technical Excellence
Invest in high quality coaching staff, training resources, and infrastructure to
enhance the technical skills and tactical knowledge of players at all levels.
3.4] Facilities and Infrastructure
Improve and maintain club facilities, including playing field, changing room,
and social space to provide a safe and welcoming environment for players, staff
and supporters.
3.5] Financial Stability
Develop a sustainable financial model through sponsorships, fundraising
initiatives, and strategic partnership to ensure the clubs long term viability and
growth.
4.0] Objectives and Initiatives
4.1] Player Development
- Implement a structured youth development program to recruit and develop
young talent.
- Establish partnership with local schools to promote rugby and provide
coaching support.
- Organize regular skills clinics, camps and workshops for players at all ages and
skills levels.
4.2] Coaching and Technical Excellence
- Recruit and retain qualified experience coaches across all age groups.
- Provide ongoing coach education and professional development
opportunities
- Invest in video analysis tools and equipment to enhance training and
performance analysis (A long term development investment plan).
4.3] Community Engagement
- Organize community rugby festivals, tournaments, and outreach programs.
- Collaborate with local organizations to develop rugby programs for
underprevillege youths.
- Establish volunteer initiatives for club members to actively contribute to the
community.
- Organize community events and outreach programs to foster inclusivity, social
cohesion and a sense of belonging.
4.4] Facilities and Infrastructure
- Improve and maintain clubs existing assets.
- Enhance and develop club facilities and infrastructure to provide a conducive
environment for training and community engagement. This is a long term
investment plan which will include the construction of a club gym with its own
playing field
- Tapping into new income opportunities or income streams, partnership and
sponsorship to secure necessary funding for this major development plan.
4.5] Youth Development
- Engaged in nurturing young talent and promoting rugby at grassroot level and
to establish a strong connection with the local schools and community
organizations to develop youth programs that introduce rugby to a wider
audience.
- Create a pathway for young players to progress from junior levels to senior
teams within the clubs building a strong foundation for long term success.
5.0] Strategies and Implementation
To achieve our objectives, we will implement the following strategies:
- Develop a club’s year planner before slowly introducing and including
annual training and competition schedule for all age groups.
- Invest in coaching education and accreditation programs for our coaches.
- Seek partnership with local businesses, sponsors, and government
organizations for funding and support.
- Establish a strong relationship with local schools, communities, and
other organizations to promote rugby at grassroot levels.
- Create new income streams to generate additional revenue for club
development.
- Regularly communicate with club members, supporters, and
stakeholders to ensure transparency and foster a sense of ownership.
6.0] Evaluation and Review
- The club will regularly evaluate our progress against the outlined objectives
and make necessary adjustments to our strategies.
- This will involve gathering feedback from players, coaches, and other
stakeholders.
- Conducting performance assessment and maintaining financial stability.
We believe that this 3-5 years development plan will provide a solid foundation
for the growth and success of Gaunavou Rugby Club. We are committed to it’s
implementation and look forward to working closely with the club committee,
players, and supporters to achieve our shared vision.
