STUDENT POSITIVE BEHAVIOUR PLEDGE

I am a student of Regent International School and I am guided by the 12 virtues in all my

actions at all times.

I, along with the rest of the Regent International School community, have a right to be in a
safe school that is free from harassment, bullying, violence, bigotry and discrimination.

I pledge as a Regent student that I will conduct myself in a manner that is consistent with
our school virtues of integrity, creativity, responsibility, courtesy, compassion, confidence,
perseverance, justice, adaptability, moderation, diligence and understanding. I will
undertake to correct and reform my attitudes and behaviours that may be disruptive and
may negatively impact my school community.

As a Regent student, I agree to:

 come to school on time, prepared to work with appropriate materials and complete
homework;
 use English as the language of communication in school, except for in vernacular
language classes;
 use courteous and polite language when talking to everyone;
 show respect to all members of the school, especially my teachers who are
committed to my success;
 participate in class and behave respectfully towards my peers and teachers;
 be a problem-solver and a peacemaker;
 vehemently reject bullying and courageously defend those who are weak and
powerless in school;
 not bring deadly weapons, illegal drugs, controlled substances, cigarettes (including
e-cigarettes) to school;

required by the educator and not bring other devices that are disruptive to the class;
 dress in clean, neat manner and respect my uniform as an essential part of my
identity as a Regent student;
 respect other people’s belongings and responsibly take care of my own;
 keep my parents/guardians informed about school-related matters and hand them
whatever letter or information materials that are sent home from school;
 show my parents/guardians the results of my work (homework, textbook exercises,
assessment results, etc.), and
 follow the policies and procedures in the student handbook (My Handbook), and
 adhere to the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) set by the school as a protective
measure for the prevention of COVID-19 transmission.
I am fully aware of and accept the consequences of my behaviour that may compromise the
welfare of my school community and violate school policies. I accept to undergo the
school’s R&R programme, which may include:

 warnings (verbal and/or written)

 written behaviour/discipline reports to parents/guardians which they will sign
 verbal apology
 parent-principal-student conference
 in-school community service
 suspension from school activities
 suspension from school
 fine for damages or stolen articles
 police notification
 expulsion from school

By signing this pledge, the school, parents/guardians and students agree to the stipulations
declared in this document and will follow accordingly.
