22 years working experience in Sri Lanka Navy.
• Joined Sri Lankan Navy, I did advance training course of six month in naval and maritime
academy, after completion of course, worked on various ships i,e SLNS Abeetha, SLNS
Ranasura, SLNS Jayasagara and P232 as a marine engineering mechanics.
• Worked trainee shipwright artificer for two years in Sri Lank Navy. After completion of
training, worked in Galle 200 tons slipway.

Role & Responsibilities as a shipwright:
• Air pressure test of tanks on completion of hot work to detects any leak.
• Repairing / maintaining watertight integrity by chalk test, water hose testing in all
watertight compartments.
• Removing and installing of manhole covers of all tanks with gaskets.
• Replacing deteriorated sacrificial anode.
• Removing and fixing all underwater opening, gating on sea suction boxes.
• Removing and fixing of soft patches of machinery compartments and others areas.
• Maintenance of window’s glass scuttles and port lights.
• Removing and fixing rope guards of and eddy plates of vessels.
• Removing and maintenance of ventilation louvers, wire mesh / wooden panels, lockers.
