PREFACE

Dear Our Valued Clients,

We appreciate your unwavering support and cooperation rendered to our Ballast Water
Treatment System businesses. We have revised the existing trouble shooting manual into
following 6 categories by adding system controller, ACONIS.

 Elecrolysis Unit
 Filter Unit
 Neutralization Unit
 TRO Sensor Unit
 Rectifier
 ACONIS

As you already know, whenever any alarm appears on the display monitor, you can just find the
same alarm tag in the Table of Alarm and turn to the corresponding page to follow the trouble
shooting instructions. We’ve also attached photos and diagrams at the later part of this booklet for
you reference and enhanced the table of contents so that you can easily find resolutions to your
problem.

If you have any suggestions, other useful information or you cannot clear the problem with this
trouble shooting manual, please don’t hesitate to contact us:

How to Use This Manual (I)

Case 1 Finding the cause of the trouble with the alarm

[In case of “Filter DP High”]

1. When some alarms occur in alarm list on the Mimic(HMI), please find which alarm is
activated first by clicking th following [ALAM LIST] icon. The first alarm is important to find
what problem is.

2. Briefly the latest alarm TAG and Description will be shown in bottom side of the Mimic.

3. And look for the corresponding ALARM TAG in the TABLE OF ALARM of this manual.

T/S-EU-01 [Electrolyzer] Electrolyzer
General Information The Arrangement of Bipolar electrode

1. HiBallast uses Bipolar electroldes for electrolsis.

When disassembling your elecltrolyzer on the vessel, the elctroldes must be instllaed in same
direction.

2. Negative (-) pole’s direction should be installed to positive power source and positive (+)
pole’s direction should be installed to negative power source as below Pictures.

3. It is possible that new electrode installs to any direction because of the electrode is coated
with both side.
However, in case of reusing and reinstalling old one, you should follow our Electrode
Arrangement Guidance because negative pole side’s coating material is taken off
and electrode inside structure is changed after using.

For your information, it is normal that coating material is taken off in negative pole of
electrode and it is not effective on performance.
