Junior Achievement of New York (JA New York) is the local affiliate of Junior
Achievement USA, the nation's largest organization dedicated to giving young
people the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan
for their futures, and make smart academic and economic choices.
We recruit, train, and mobilize thousands of volunteers from businesses, high
schools, and the local community to provide relevant, hands-on experiences
that give students knowledge and skills in financial literacy, work readiness, and
entrepreneurship.

In-school Experiences
JA High School Heroes™ | Grades 9-12
JA High School Heroes engages high school students as mentors to elementary
students, teaching them financial literacy and entrepreneurship concepts through JA’s
interactive curriculum. High School Heroes fosters essential leadership and soft-skills in
the older students while imparting crucial financial literacy concepts to their younger
peers in a supportive learning environment.
JA Career Speakers Series® | Grades K-12
The JA Career Speaker Series is an educational initiative that brings professionals from
various industries into classrooms to share their career journeys and insights with
students. This program provides an interactive platform for students to engage with
industry experts, ask questions, and gain valuable career advice.
JA Inspire® | Grades 6-12
JA Inspire introduces students to the variety of career paths and opportunities available
at regional companies and organizations representing sixteen different career clusters.
Students interact in real-time with professionals, attend insightful webinars, and access
resources that help inform, inspire and prepare them for their future careers.
Off-Site Experiences
JA Finance Park l Grades 6-12
Empowers students to make informed financial choices as they transition into adulthood.
Using a series of classroom-based lessons that culminate with a visit to the Park, JA
Finance Park equips young people with essential skills in budgeting, saving, and an
understanding of economic principles. The program provides a hands-on personal
finance education to students using a real-world simulation where they manage personal
budgets and make their own financial decisions.
JA Job Shadow | Grades 6-12
The JA Job Shadow program offers students the opportunity to spend a day in a real
workplace, observing and interacting with professionals. This hands-on experience helps
students gain a deeper understanding of the day-to-day responsibilities and skills
needed for various careers.

IMPLEMENTATION
JA New York Volunteers
Our volunteers are made up of corporate and community professionals, often experts in their
field. They bring their expertise from the workforce to classrooms, building real-world connections
between the curriculum and New York City careers. Volunteers are provided training by JA New
York and receive school-specific information to prepare them for a successful learning experience.
