Hello Racers!
I hope you're all doing well. By now, you've gained an understanding of what F1 in Schools
is all about. In this document, we're going to dive into the process of registration,
downloading and installation of Autodesk Fusion 360.
Fusion 360 is a comprehensive computer-aided designing (CAD), computer-aided
engineering (CAE), and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software developed by
Autodesk. It is a cloud-based platform that integrates design and manufacturing
processes into a single tool.
Whether you're a student, or a professional engineer, Fusion 360 provides a powerful and
versatile toolset for product designing and manufacturing. It has gained popularity for its
user-friendly interface, collaboration features, and the ability to handle the entire product
development process.
Let’s follow the following steps to register on Autodesk website to get a free education
license to access Autodesk Fusion 360.
1) Visit autodesk.com
2) Click on the Support drop-menu option.
3) Click on the Downloads option.
4) In the sub menu, click on the Students and educators option. You can directly visit
the page by clicking here.
5) Autodesk Education & Student Access webpage opens.
Here, ‘Select’ Fusion.
6) Now, Select Individual.
7) On the ‘Sign up for Autodesk education access’ screen, enter your email address,
tick mark the ‘I agree to the Autodesk privacy-statement’ check mark, and click on
the Continue button.
8) Enter your First name and Last name. And for Educational Role select Design
Competition Mentor for Educational Role.
Here, do ensure that you have selected the Design Competition Mentor as the
option, otherwise you won’t be able to use the Fusion 360 software.
Click on the Continue button.
9) Enter your Address and Contact details and click on the Continue button.
10)You will be automatically verified, and get the education license �.
Now, click on the Submit Button.

a. Now open your email account and click on the Complete account setup
button in the email you have received from Autodesk.
b. This will open the Create account page.
Your name and email address will be prefilled.
c. Enter the same email id for Confirm email, and enter password as desired.
Here, ensure that you write down the password in your notebook. The
password is case-sensitive.
d. Tick the ‘I agree to the Autodesk Terms of Use and the Privacy Statement.’
checkmark, and click on the Create account button. And click on Continue.
12) All Products and Services page will open. Scroll down and you will find the Fusion
card. Click on the Download button under it.
13)‘Thank you for downloading Autodesk Fusion’ will open, and ‘Fusion Client
Downloader’ file will get downloaded.
Now, to begin the software installation process, locate the downloaded file and double-
click on it. This will initiate the installation wizard, which will guide you through the
necessary steps for installing the software on your system.
The installation process may take some time to complete because it will download all the
necessary files required to run Autodesk Fusion 360.
Follow the on-screen instructions carefully to ensure a smooth and successful installation.
Once the installation is complete, you are all set to start designing using Autodesk Fusion
360.

System requirements for Autodesk Fusion 360
Operating Apple® macOS
System:
• macOS Sonoma – January 30th, 2024 (known issues – Relief
Pattern (Bump) parameter on appearance is not working in
Fusion)
• macOS 13 Ventura – (Version 2.0.15289 or newer)
• macOS 12 Monterey
• macOS 11 Big Sur – Until March 2024 (Learn more)

• Windows 10 (64-bit) Version 1809 or newer
Note: Fusion will not launch on your device running older
applications or OS version
CPU Type: x86-based 64-bit processor (for example, Intel Core i, AMD Ryzen
series), 4 cores, 1.7 GHz or greater; 32-bit not supported.
Note: Fusion and its default add-ins run natively on Apple silicon,
however some individual processes and back-end services require
Rosetta 2 - see this post for more information.
Memory: 4 GB of RAM (integrated graphics recommend 6 GB or more)
Graphics Card: DirectX11 (Direct3D 10.1 or greater)
Dedicated GPU with 1 GB or more of VRAM
Integrated graphics with 6 GB or more of RAM

How to check system configurations?
1) Right click on This pc / My Computer > Click on Properties
2) In the Settings, go the About section. All the system configurations will appear
here.
Note: If you have done the registration and downloading process on the school, to get
Fusion 360 running on your personal computer you just have to login on the Autodesk
website. You don’t have to do the registration process again.
