Integrated Solid Waste Management

A rapid increase in population has resulted in urbanization. Waste generation is increasing rapidly and is expected to grow in the upcoming years.
This rise ultimately led to the increase in the waste disposal and the problem of solid waste become severe. Refuse and waste can cause air and
water pollution, spoiled garbage is also known to produce toxic gases that mix with the air and leads to the air pollution and cause breathing problems
in people.

Solid-waste management, the collecting, treating, and disposing of solid material that is discarded because it has served its purpose or is no longer
useful. Improper disposal of municipal solid waste can create unsanitary conditions, and these conditions in turn can lead to pollution of
the environment and to outbreaks of vector-borne disease—that is, diseases spread by rodents and insects. The tasks of solid-waste management
present complex technical challenges. They also pose a wide variety of administrative, economic, and social problems that must be managed and
solved.

So the most important aspect of solid waste management is the protection of the environment and the health of the population. To meet present and
future waste management challenges, waste management systems must be innovative, sustainable, and adaptable.

For maximum efficiency and effectiveness of this service, it is necessary to tackle this problem systematically by analyzing the present scenario of
the Solid Waste management and come forward with a cost effective system which ensures adequate level of solid waste management services to
all class of citizens.

A number of processes are involved in effectively managing waste in the waste management plant. These include Collection, Segregation, and
Transportation, refuse, reuse, recycling and reduce, treatment & disposal.

Collection: Collection is the first step in the process of waste management; the waste generated by the human activities is collected and
stored in different bins i.e. Biodegradable.

Transportation: Second step is transportation, the collected waste is then transported to the recycling facility where the waste is again segregated
in a more efficient manner.

Treatment: Third step is the treatment of the segregated waste; it is then treated according to their properties, things that can be reused sent
for reusable purpose.

Recycling: Fourth step is recycling, things that can be recycled such as polythene bags, plastic containers etc. are recycled.

Disposal: Disposal is the last step in which the waste that comes out from the incinerator or from Pyrolysis is disposed at secured landfill.

AAYUSHI HYGIENE AND CARE is an expert agency to handle municipal solid waste using all mentioned processes efficiently and effectively
ensuring to make the environment clean for the welfare of the society and ultimately to the world.
Green Energy from bio degradable waste

At AAYUSHI HYGIENE AND CARE, we are committed to sustainability. We believe in harnessing the power of green energy and managing
biodegradable waste effectively to reduce our environmental impact and create a healthier planet.

Green energy, also known as renewable energy, comes from natural sources that replenish themselves over time. Using organic materials such as
wood, agricultural residues, or even municipal solid waste to produce renewable energy.

A biogas plant, also known as an anaerobic digester, is a facility that converts organic waste into biogas or GREEN ENERGY, which can be used as
a renewable energy source. Biogas plants can also produce bio-CNG, a renewable energy source that can replace non-carbon-emitting fuels, and
digestate, a semi-solid slurry that can be used as an organic fertilizer.

Biogas can be used in a variety of ways, including:

Fuel: The methane in biogas can be combusted or oxidized with oxygen to release energy, which can be used in fuel cells, for heating, or in a gas
engine to generate electricity and heat. After removing carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide, biogas can also be compressed and used to
power motor vehicles.

Fertilizer: Digestate, a semi-solid slurry produced by biogas plants, can be used as an organic fertilizer.

Sewage Treatment Plant/ Water Body Rejenuvation

Domestic sewage treatment plants typically comprise of one or two chambers and utilize aeration to break down solids. After aeration, the
remaining solids, including microorganisms, settle to the bottom of the tank to treat the next batch of wastewater.

Sewage treatment plants run wastewater through multiple treatment stages. After preliminary filtration, there are three main stages of wastewater
treatment (primary, secondary, and tertiary), with the third stage reserved for polishing.

Preliminary treatment: The primary stage involves separating solids from liquids. The sewage is pumped into sedimentation tanks,
where gravity forces solids to the bottom of the tank. The water is then released, leaving behind a
sludge/slurry. The sludge is a by-product of primary treatment and can sometimes be repurposed as a
fertilizer, but it requires treatment such as de-watering to stabilize it. Incineration is the most likely destination
for heavily contaminated sludge.
Secondary treatment: Secondary treatment is the biological treatment stage that breaks down organic contaminants in wastewater.
The two most frequently used processes are activated sludge (aerated ponds) and filter beds (sewage tricked
over aggregate), where ‘good’ bacteria in the sludge/aggregate break down the pathogens in the wastewater.
After secondary treatment, wastewater can sometimes be released, providing there’s a low risk to human
and animal life and the environment.

Tertiary treatment: Wastewater is considered clean after secondary treatment, but tertiary treatment returns it to an even higher
quality for release in protected waters. The type of tertiary treatment depends on the wastewater. For
example, suppose we should release wastewater into bathing or shellfish waters. In that case, it requires
disinfection, and nutrients in the water, like phosphorous, must also be removed.
