1. For each of the following items (i) – (x) choose the correct answer among the given

4. (a) How can you differentiate between potential energy and kinetic energy? Give two points

(b) Imagine your school mate at the school kitchen are shouting that the morning porridge is
very hot! Its temperature is said to be 420K. What temperature is this on the Fahrenheit
scale? (6marks)
5. (a) Suppose you find your classmate along the road pushing a bicycle and it accelerated, but
when pushed a car, it failed to move. Why your classmate managed to push a bicycle rather
than car? (5marks)
(b) A body of mass 80kg was pushed by a constant force of 50N for 6seconds. Suggest on
the acceleration acquired by the body. (5marks)

6. Herieth started moving the car from rest and the car accelerated uniformly at the rate of 5m/s2
for 6seconds and maintained a constant velocity for 25seconds. Afterwards she applied the
brakes and the car retarded to rest in 4 seconds. Now how far did she covered from where she
started up to retardation? suggest also her average speed graphically (10marks)

7. (a) Golleth and Amina both were arguing on some parts of a car but then they said and
agreed that the efficiency of the machine is always less than 100% .Now what do you think
was the reason that implied to their agreements? (4marks)
(b) The wheel and axle with an efficiency of 80% is used to raise a load of 5000N. If the
radius of the wheel is 40cm while that of the axle is 10cm, as a form two student ,
calculate :
(i) The velocity ratio of the wheel and axle (3marks)
(ii) The mechanical advantage of the wheel and axle (3marks)

8. (a) Suppose a form three student at Margaret-Sitta girl’s secondary school were given an
experiment by their teacher sir Mwampamba. They were perfoming an experiment with a
uniform meter rule which is pivoted at its centre O with a knife edge. Then 30g of mass was
placed at the 10cm mark by the students and a 60g mass was placed at 40cm mark as shown
in the figure below, now at what mark student must place a second 60g mass for a system to
be in rotational balance? (6marks)

(b) Suggest and state the law that governed the above experiment to be done.(4marks)

9. (a) Suppose that you have selected among the student to give various example of energy and
how they are generated, now you are required to provide two difference between wind
energy and the hydroelectric energy. (4marks)
(b) A physics teacher at a school heard a form one students who were discussing about solar
energy. They agreed that solar energy is useless. As a form two student argue against the
conclusion made by form one students as heard by the teacher. Use three points
(6marks)

Answer the question below
10. Form two student at Itale secondary school, were asked by their teacher to prepare electrical
compounds and instruments for an experiments to determine the relationship between voltage
and the flow of charge between the circuits. How can you assist them to :
(a) Provide five electrical compounds that can be applied to accomplish their experiment
(2.5marks)
(b) Illustrate a well simple electrical circuit that will be suitable for the experiment given
(2.5marks)
(c) From a simple electrical circuit that illustrated in 10(b) above, suggest how the electrical
devices used for measuring p.d and current can be connected. (5marks)
