Chia theo đối tượng có 2 dạng:

OUTLINE OF AN EMAIL (không cần ghi địa chỉ, đảm bảo 5 phần)

1. Greeting: lời chào hỏi

2. Opening: nêu lí do viết thư

3. Main body: trả lời hết câu hỏi đề yêu cầu (xác định được đề bao nhiêu ý cần trả lời: rất

quan trọng)

4. Final comments: lời chào cuối

5. Closing: kết thư

1. Task fulfilment: ít nhất 120 từ, đủ ý, đúng văn phong thư.

2. Organization: chia đoạn hợp lý, sử dụng từ nối trong câu và giữa các câu.

3. Vocabulary: đúng từ loại, đa dạng từ vựng, nhiều từ hiếm, cụm từ cố định (collocations).

4. Grammar: đúng ngữ pháp, nhiều thì / cấu trúc khác nhau, câu phức.

Xác định đúng loại thư và các ý cần trả lời.

Tối thiểu 3 phần (mở bài- thân bài - kết bài), thân bài gồm các ý chính - mỗi ý chính 1 đoạn.

Nhớ mỗi đoạn: cách dòng + tụt lề đầu dòng mỗi đoạn; cùng 2 lề, kiểu chữ, kích cỡ chữ;

chấm/phẩy (tùy thi máy tính tại trường nào, với VLU thì chỉ enter xuống dòng được, không

tag hay canh lề được). Xem lại chính tả và không viết lạc đề (15 phút viết, 5 phút đọc sửa

lại).

1. Đọc lướt qua topic của 2 tasks email và essay: Xác định cái nào tự tin nhất (#ôn trúng

tủ) thì làm trước. Trường hợp mất não: làm email trước > essay sau.

2. Để ý canh giờ ở góc trên màn hình máy tính: email (tối đa 20 phút) / essay (tối đa 40

phút). Cố gắng khi luyện viết tập thói quen bấm giờ, ước lượng sức viết và số từ ở mỗi task.

3. Xác định dạng đề ở mỗi task:

• Email: xác định formal / informal dựa vào mối quan hệ của mình với đối tượng viết thư

đến.

+ INFORMAL (family, relatives, friends): mối quan hệ thân quen.

+ FORMAL (others: teachers, boss, directors, s.o don’t know …): (mẹo) nếu đã loại informal

thì chắc chắn chỉ có thể là formal.

• Essay: xác định đúng và đủ về 4 dạng đề (Discussion: advantages and disadvantages /

Opinion: 90% Balanced and 10% Strong / Causes # Reasons — Problems # Effects

— Solutions / Mixed: Opinion + Discussion). Do đó đọc kĩ yêu cầu / câu hỏi đề bài.
4. Lập template dàn ý:

• Sau khi quyết định sẽ làm phần nào trước và đã xác định kĩ dạng đề thì nhanh

chóng đánh máy trước dàn ý template mẫu của Lyn theo từng dạng (both email +

essay).

• Tối đa 5 phút với email và 10 phút với essay: phải hoàn tất xong phần dàn ý mẫu,

paraphrase topic - chủ đề đề bài yêu cầu (tham khảo 30 đề Vivian) và paraphrase

noun phrase / sentence (general statement).

+ paraphrase noun phrase: the pros and cons # the merits and demerits / downsides # the

Luyện trước thuần thục (học thuộc như phản xạ) các templates mẫu của Lyn, tập viết tại nhà

trong thời gian ngắn nhất nhé (#5-10 phút)! Lyn cảm nhận là bàn phím laptop MacBook khác

rất nhiều so với bàn phím thi tại VLU nên không quen í, tốc độ đánh máy của Lyn bị chậm lại

rất nhiều. Bé Di chịu khó ra tiệm net hoặc mượn bạn bàn phím rời cứng để luyện tập nhé!
5. Brainstorm ideas quickly:

• Sau khi xong template và paraphrase, dựa vào tài liệu ôn tập trong 2-4 tuần:

Email: ôn theo YouTube Bảo Brian (14 topics + some new topics), sử dụng thêm từ nối giữa

các câu (Besides / In addition to / Additionally / Moreover; As a result / Therefore /

Consequently/ As a consequence ; However / Even though / Although / Though / Despite / In

spite of / It means that …), sử dụng từ nối trong một câu để tạo câu phức (because = as =

since / but / so / in order to / wh - questions: who; when; which; that; how …).

• Dạng informal: chủ yếu liên quan đến các chủ đề thông dụng (common topics) như

daily activities, travel abroad, improve English skills, study foreign language,

accommodation, weather, go sightseeing, hobbies in your leisure time, discuss a novel / a

traditional festival (Tet holiday) / famous food in your country …

+ Các câu dẫn dắt: You know, / It would be great if you could / should / may / had better /

+ Các câu dẫn dắt: I suggest / propose / offer that ; It would be great if ; I wonder if you

+ Trực tiếp hướng về mục đích vấn đề (give information / request / complaint …), không hỏi

thăm sức khỏe và tuyệt đối không viết tắt.

Essay:

• Đọc thật kĩ 30 đề Vivian (học kĩ trước vocabulary B2 [#colocations] của từng topic và

học thuộc lòng ideas lẫn supporting ideas của từng bài ở cột B2. Luyện tập đánh máy

tính bản tiếng Anh, copy y chang bài viết trong vài đề đầu tiên theo sườn B2 trong sách

luôn nhé, sau đó trong đầu mình sẽ tự động sắp xếp thông tin và Di sẽ thấy Writing thật

sự tăng band rất dễ ấy. Chỉ cần học thuộc trước templates mẫu theo từng dạng + học

các từ paraphrase topic trong Vivian / vocabulary synonyms + lưu ý chính tả của từ vựng

và
và ngữ pháp [đa dạng các thì quá khứ/hiện tại/tương lai + dùng từ nối để tạo câu phức] +

dùng từ nối liên kết các câu và các đoạn + có các câu topic sentence rõ ràng của từng đoạn

+ thuộc lòng 1 số collocations của từng chủ đề + triển khai thuần thục các ideas và

supporting ideas trong cột B2 khung bên phải của sách Vivian 30 đề và các ideas la liếm

được trên YouTube, group fb, … Đạt “B2 VSTEP certificate” theo cách tự học, Lyn nghĩ

không quá khó nếu biết chắt lọc tài liệu, dành đủ thời gian, ôn tập đều đặn, chú tâm nắm

vững cái mình học thì trong 2-4 tuần vẫn khả năng cao đạt B2 level nhé.

+ Bé Di thật sự rất cần tham gia các group tự ôn B1 / B2 (chủ yếu lên đó lấy thông tin và kiến

thức, đừng hoang mang sợ hãi vì mọi người hù dọa hay các bình luận tiêu cực, dễ mất tinh

thần, vững tâm, nỗ lực, tin vào sự cố gắng tốt lên từng ngày của chính mình)và tổng hợp đề

theo các chủ đề hiện hành trong # 3 tháng sát ngày thi của em nhất nhé (các dạng topic hay

gặp, dạng email: gần đây viết task 1 đề ra thiên informal hay thiên formal và quan trọng nhất

phải biết trong # 3 tháng này có ra thi dạng topic nào lạ mới toang chưa gặp bao giờ hay

không).

6. Kiểm tra kĩ 2 tasks và lưu bài thi Writing:

Lyn nghĩ nếu có thể đọc hiểu và có chủ tâm xây dựng kế hoạch ngay từ bây giờ và áp dụng đều đặn mỗi ngày / chăm chỉ luyện tập hoàn

• Nếu chịu khó luyện tập rèn giũa thì hoàn thành 2 tasks trong 45 - 50 phút là hoàn toàn

khả quan. Dùng 5 - 10 phút cuối cùng kiểm tra văn phong, ideas và examples hợp lý

chưa
chưa, có thiếu ý so với yêu cầu hay không, đa dạng nhiều dạng cấu trúc [đơn giản nhất là

thêm từ nối giữa các câu liền kề có quan hệ nguyên nhân - kết quả để lại thành câu phức

(hoặc) chuyển 1 số câu chủ động thành câu bị động] và đa dạng các thì chia ở quá khứ,

hiện tại, tương lai:

Tăng band trong Writing là Advanced Vocabulary B2-C1, Diversity of Grammar, Complex sentences, Templates và Collocations.

Tăng band trong Speaking là Pronunciation (most important), Advanced Vocabulary, Grammar, Intonation, Fluency, Developing

Ideas and Idioms (dùng đúng ngữ cảnh, tuyệt đối không dùng idioms trong Writings).

Speaking IDIOMS: Sooner or later (1 lúc nào đó trong tương lai, chuyện gì đó sẽ xảy ra,

sớm hay muộn mà thôi) ; When / If push comes to shove (bắt buộc mình thật sự phải hành

động trong 1 tình huống gay go, khó khăn và không còn sự lựa chọn khác).
• Một số dạng đề viết + nói lạ đợt Lyn (nghỉ hè Y5 năm 2023): brain drain (chảy máu chất

xám: đề 30 Vivian) / printer tradition (truyền thống nghề in ấn) / nuclear family (thuận lợi /

bất lợi của GĐ hạt nhân 2 thế hệ ba mẹ và con cái) / body language / natural habitat (or)

flowers (or) animals / birds / marriage (hôn nhân) /eat out or outdoor dining (ăn ngoài) …

• Sau khi tổng hợp các đề thi lạ, dùng app Poe (hoặc app chat GPT) up lên nguyên văn

câu hỏi sẽ được gợi ý các ideas trả lời. Đọc hiểu note lại các ideas và lên group fb hỏi

tìm bài mẫu / tra Google / tìm các clips YouTube của 1 số trung tâm hoặc hiện tại chuyên

về VSTEP sẽ giúp sửa bài chỉnh chu, định hướng và dễ tiếp thu hơn Di nhé.

+ 1 số trung tâm uy tín nổi tiếng hiện nay (năm 2023): Vivian (Hà Nội) / VSTEP EASY

(TpHCM) (có cả YouTube và trang fb đăng các collocations và vocabulary hay theo chủ đề

rất ổn, các tips / 1 số mẹo hướng dẫn cách làm kĩ năng —> vậy nên nếu bé Di tập trung ôn

sớm # 1 tháng sẽ là một lợi thế rất to lớn trong phần thi reading, cải thiện kĩ năng writing và

một ít ở 2 kĩ năng còn lại) .

+ 1 số giáo viên có tầm giúp tự luyện VSTEP trên nền tảng YouTube (năm 2023):

• Bảo Brian (luyện rất vững tay với AIM B1: templates of 14 topics + các new topics

gần đây hỗ trợ 2 kĩ năng Nói và Viết / Các templates cơ bản của Writing / 1 số clips

luyện kĩ năng Nghe P1 + 2 qua keywords và hướng dẫn tránh bẫy đáp án / Idioms +

hướng dẫn kĩ năng Nói theo 3 parts).

• Mine VSTEP (Giúp ích rất lớn trong luyện tăng band Speaking skill cấp tốc trong 1 tháng

- Chuyên về luyện nói theo từng chủ đề, nhất là các chủ đề sinh hoạt Part 1 và các

templates theo 2 Parts còn lại).
