a. Topic: Ecosystem

b. Reference:

• Lesson Guide in Science VI.pp

•Module for Grade 6 Science (Interactions in the Ecosystem)

c. Materials:

• Cartolina, Book, picture, visual aids, Marker, and Tape.

III. PROCEDURE:

Terms Teacher Activity's Grade 6 Pupils Activity

body first, before to our next lesson.
We want teacher!
The title of this song is " There was a
tree" and just follow me.

Okay you may now take your seat.

Let me check your attendance first.
Who is absent for today?

3. Checking of Attendance Very Good! We have perfect

attendance for today.

What was our topic that we discuss

Have you seen a rotten log?

I have here an example of a rotten

What do you see in this rotten log?

C. Presenting Examples/
Instance of the New Lesson
Good Job! Yes teacher!

Now why I have shown this to ( Each pupil will observe...)

you? You will know it in our
Log, snail, moss, ants, funngi...
discussion.

Before we start our lesson, let us

first know the meaning of some
unfamiliar words that we may
encounter.

1. What is ecology? Ecology is the relationship

between organisms and their
environment.
D. Discussing New Concepts Example: All animals and all
and Practicing New Skills #1 plants,etc...

Organisms are plants, animals

2. What is organisms? and other tiny living things that
may not be visible to the naked
eye.
Example: Humans, cat, dog,
fungus, yeast, bacteria, etc...

Habitat is the part of the

3. What is Habitat? ecosystem where an organism
lives.
Example: ocean, coral reefs,
dessert, trees, etc..

As you can see on the board,

there is a word posted here,
everybody please read the word.
"ECOSYSTEM"

Now, what comes into your mind "ECOSYSTEM"

when you hear the word ecosystem?

Anyone?

(The Pupils will answer on the

Now let's put in altogether what
is an ecosystem? etc...

( The teacher will guide the pupils in

answering the question.)

Ecosystem is a specific place

Try to recall of what do you see where living things interact
in a river or sea or forest or any with non-living things. It comes
ecosystem existing in the community? from the word ecological
system or ecology from the
Greek word which means
"HOME".

Well done!

There are two components of an ( The pupils will answer)

ecosystem;
Cat, Dog, Fish, Humans,
1. Biotic factors Chicken, Frogs, Snake, fish
ponds, grass land, etc...
2. Abiotic factors

Biotic factors are all organisms

that live in an ecosystem or living
things in short.

Give me an example of biotic

factors.

Very Good! Let's give him/her a YES

CLAP for all of us Plants, animals, fish, whale,
shark, dog, cat, humans,
mouse, lizard, birds, etc..
Plants, Animals, Humans,etc..

Abiotic factors are all the non-living

components of an ecosystem.

F. Developing Mastery Leads

to Formative Assessment Can you please give me an example of
abiotic factors?
Excellent! Let's give him/her
WHISTLE BOMB CLAP!
Sunlight, Air, Water, soil,
Temperature, Minerals, and
others.

There are two kinds of an

ecosystem, which is small and big
ecosystem, some lived in sea and
other lived on land.

Example of a small ecosystem is a

rotten log which I present to you a
while ago. Another is a tree, a plotted
plant, and etc..

While Big ecosystem are ocean,

forest, etc.....

(Show an example of a forest)

Can you follow?

J. Additional Activities for Let's sum up what we have

Application in Remediation discussed; I have here a graphic
organizer. All you need to do is to
provide the details for each box. Now

you want to do is identify this

I find it very excited because all

Yes teacher!
Why?

If this very important, how can we

Ecosystem is very
important to us because it
sustain our needs, the plants
and animals and other non-
living things that interact to

environment.
I. Evaluating Learning A. Identify if what kind of Ecosystem
is given below. Put the word Small if
the kind of Ecosystem is small and Big By preserving our ecosystem,
I'd the kind of Ecosystem is big on the not destroying any Ecosystems,
space provide. and take care always our
ecosystem.
_______ 1. Sea

_______ 2. Grassland

_______3. Rotten log

_______4. Mangroves

_______5. Coral Reefs

_______6. Forest
_______7. A dessert

_______8. A pond

_______9. A plant

_______10.A Fern

B. Describe an ecosystem on your

own understanding. (10pts.)

C.Give ways on how we can preserve

our Ecosystem.
