Section 3: College/University Exploration Reflection
How to complete this section: Compare the two college/universities in the table above. Then, write
your reflection about why one college/university may be preferred.

1. Why do you prefer one college/university in your exploration to the other? Include the following
in your response:
a. Describe why you selected the two schools for exploration.
b. Discuss your rationale for why one college/university is preferred. Provide specific
rationale for your choice using the information from your research such as
program/major, college location, living arrangements, cost of transportation, student
population, and comfort level.

While both schools are located in Orlando, Florida and offer the degree I am interested in Valencia College is the
better matcha for me. The location of West Campus is right down the street from where I work, which makes an
easier commute for after class. Living on the other side of Clermont, FL I am able to take the 408 and it brings
me almost right to campus which makes it really easy to get to class. I don’t want a long commute and take time
away from my family. While transferring to U.C.F. in the future is a possibility I wanted to start at Valencia for
these reasons, and there was never really a second option.
