Terminology:
CH = Chain DC = Double Crochet RPT = Repeat
SC = Single Crochet SC5TOG = Single Crochet 5 Together SLST = Slip Stitch
ST= Stitch
NOTE: After the SC5TOG, CH 1, then loosely SLST to the last ST.
Instructions:
CH 20 (multiple of 4)
ROW 1: SC in 2nd CH from hook and in each ST across. CH 1, turn.
ROW 2: SC in first 3 STs. RPT [5 DC in next ST, SC in each of the next 3 STs]. Change
to green yarn, turn.

ROW 3: SC in first 3 STs. RPT [Over previous 5 DC, make a 5 SC5TOG ST, SC in each
of the next 3 STs]. Change to red yarn, turn.
ROW 4: SC in first ST. RPT [5 DC in next ST. SC in next ST, (skip CH ST on top), SC in
middle of stem, (skip CH ST on top) SC in next ST] until last 2 STs. In next to last ST,
make 5 DC. In last ST, SC. Change to green yarn, turn.
ROW 5: SC in first ST. RPT [Over previous 5 DC, make a 5 SC5TOG ST, SC in each of
the next 3 STs] until last 2 STs. In next to last ST, make a SC5TOG ST. In last ST, SC.
Change to red yarn, turn.
RPT ROWs 2, 3, 4, 5.
