I. Objectives:
1. Cognitive: Learners will recognize and understand the meanings of
“Assalamu Alaikum” and “Wa Alaikumussalam” in the context of Jumu'ah
prayers and masjid interactions.
2. Affective: Learners will appreciate the special significance of greetings
and community interactions inside the masjid especially on Fridays.
3. Behavioral: Learners will practice using the greetings appropriately in a
masjid setting, particularly during Jumu'ah prayers.
II. Content:
 Topic: “Assalamu Alaikum” and “Wa Alaikumussalam” in Street
Conversations
 Key Vocabulary:
‫( السالم عليكم‬Assalamu Alaikum): Peace be upon you
‫( وعليكم السالم‬Wa Alaikumussalam): And upon you be peace
Concept: The importance of greetings in Islamic culture, especially on
Fridays when Muslims gather for Jumu'ah prayers, fostering a sense of
community and respect.

A. Preliminary Activities:
1. Drill:
 Activity: Quick review of the greetings "Assalamu Alaikum" and
"Wa Alaikumussalam" in the context of the masjid.
 Method: Use flashcards and a simple story about Jumu'ah prayers.
Have students repeat the words and match them with pictures of
people greeting each other at the masjid.
2. Review:
 Activity: Discuss the importance of Friday as a holy day and how
greetings are used during Jumu'ah prayers.
 Method: Show pictures of a masjid, particularly during Friday
prayers, and explain how Muslims greet each other and the
significance of these greetings on Fridays.
3. Motivation:
 Activity: Show a short animated video or picture story featuring
characters using the greetings in a mosque setting on Friday.

 Method: Engage learners by asking what the characters are doing


and why it’s important to use these greetings during Jumu'ah.
B. Developmental Activities:
1. Presentation:
 Activity: Read a short story or show a video where characters use
"Assalamu Alaikum" and "Wa Alaikumussalam" at the mosque
during Jumu'ah.

‫ عند‬.‫ ذهب محمد وعائلته إلى المسجد ألداء صالة الجمعة‬،‫ي يوم الجمعة‬
‫ رأوا أصدقاءهم وأقاربهم في المسجد‬،‫دخولهم‬.

‫ "السالم عليكم يا أصدقائي‬:‫"!قال محمد‬

‫ "وعليكم السالم يا محمد‬:‫"!رد األصدقاء بابتسامة‬

‫ "السالم عليكم يا إمام‬:‫ثم توجه محمد إلى اإلمام وقال‬."

‫ "وعليكم السالم ورحمة الله وبركاته‬:‫رد اإلمام‬."

‫ تحدث محمد وأصدقاؤه عن أهمية يوم الجمعة وفضل الصالة‬،‫بعد الصالة‬


‫ وشكروا الله على هذا اليوم المبارك‬.‫في المسجد‬.

English Translation:

On Friday, Mohamed and his family went to the mosque for Jumu'ah
prayers. Upon entering, they saw their friends and relatives in the
mosque.

Mohamed said, "Assalamu Alaikum, my friends!"

The friends replied with a smile, "Wa Alaikumussalam, Mohamed!"

Mohamed then approached the Imam and said, "Assalamu Alaikum,


Imam."

The Imam responded, "Wa Alaikumussalam wa Rahmatullahi wa


Barakatuh." praying in the masjid. They thanked Allah for this
blessed day.

After the prayer, Mohamed and his friends talked about the
importance of Friday and the virtue of praying in the masjid. They
thanked Allah for this blessed day.
2. Performing the Activity (Differentiated Instruction):
 Activity: Use scenario cards with pictures of different moments
during Jumu'ah (entering the masjid, meeting friends, speaking with
the Imam) and have learners match the greetings to these
moments.
 Method: Encourage learners to use the new vocabulary in their
sentences and reflect on why these greetings are particularly
significant on Fridays.
4. Processing the Activity:
 Activity: Facilitate a group discussion where learners share their
experiences or observations about greetings at the masjid and
during Jumu'ah prayers.
 Method: Encourage learners to use the new vocabulary in their
sentences and reflect on why these greetings are particularly
significant on Fridays.
3. Summarizing the Lesson:
 Activity: recap the key points of the lesson focusing on the special
role of “Assalamu Alaikum” and “Wa Alaikumussalam” during
Jumu'ah.
 Method: Use a simple review game where students match different
mosque settings with appropriate greetings or use them in
sentences.
C. Assessment:
Direction: Learners will match the correct greeting with its response and
context, specifically related to mosque settings during Jumu'ah.
