I. Objectives:

1. Cognitive: Learners will be able to recognize and use “Assalamu


Alaikum” and “Wa Alaikumussalam” in various school-related situations.
2. Affective: Learners will understand the significance of these greetings in
building a respectful and friendly school environment.
3. Behavioral: Learners will practice using greetings in appropriate school
contexts, such as during classroom activities and interactions with
teachers and peers.

II. Content:

 Topic: “Assalamu Alaikum” and “Wa Alaikumussalam” in School


Settings
 Key Vocabulary:
‫( السالم عليكم‬Assalamu Alaikum): Peace be upon you
‫( وعليكم السالم‬Wa Alaikumussalam): And upon you be peace

 Concepts: Understanding when to use these greetings in different


social contexts.

IV. Procedures:

A. Preliminary Activities:

1. Drill:

 Activity: Quick review of greetings with a focus on school-related


scenarios.
 Method: Use flashcards showing different school settings (e.g.,
entering the classroom, meeting a teacher, playing with friends).
Students will repeat the greetings and match them with the correct
scenarios.

2. Review:

Activity: Discuss the importance of greetings in school.



Method: Explain how polite greetings help in creating a positive

school environment. Show pictures of school interactions where
greetings are used.
3. Motivation:
 Activity: Show a short animated video or picture story about
school activities with characters using “Assalamu Alaikum” and “Wa
Alaikumussalam.”

greetings are important in these situations.

B. Developmental Activities:

1. Presentation:

 Activity: Read a short story or dialogue involving school scenarios


where characters use “Assalamu Alaikum” and “Wa
Alaikumussalam.”

‫ دخلت ليلى إلى الصف ورأت أصدقائها أحمد وسارة‬،‫في يوم دراسي‬
‫يجلسان على مقاعدهم‬.

‫ أحمد وسارة‬،‫ "السالم عليكم‬:‫"!قالت ليلى‬

‫ ليلى‬،‫ "وعليكم السالم‬:‫"!رد أحمد وسارة مًع ا‬

‫ "السالم عليكم يا طالب‬:‫"!بعدها دخل المعلم إلى الفصل وقال‬

‫ أستاذ‬،‫ "وعليكم السالم‬:‫"!رد الطالب‬

‫ثم بدأت الحصة الدراسية بكل حماس‬.

English Translation:

At School

On a school day, Aminah entered the classroom and saw her friends
Ahmed and Sarah sitting at their desks.

Aminah said, “Assalamu Alaikum, Ahmed and Sarah!”

Ahmed and Sarah replied together, “Wa Alaikumussalam,Aminah!”

Then the teacher entered the classroom and said, “Assalamu


Alaikum, students!”

The students replied, “Wa Alaikumussalam, teacher!”


The lesson then began with enthusiasm.

2. Performing the Activity (Differentiated Instruction):

 Activity: Set up different school scenarios for learners to role-play.


(greeting a teacher, entering the classroom, or meeting friends in
the schoolyard)
 Method: learners take turns practicing the greetings in these
scenarios, using props or simple costumes to make it engaging.
4. Processing the Activity:
 Activity: Facilitate a group discussion on how greetings are used in
different school situations.
 Method: Ask students to share their role-play experiences and
discuss why using these greetings is important in school.
3. Summarizing the Lesson:
 Activity: Recap the lesson with a simple review game.
 Method: Play a game where students identify and use the correct
greeting for different school scenarios presented on flashcards or
slides.

C. Assessment:

Direction: Students will demonstrate their understanding of the greetings


by matching them with the correct school context.

Greeting Matching Game

 Scenario: Meeting a new student, entering the classroom,


greeting a teacher.
 Greeting: Assalamu Alaikum
 Response: Wa Alaikumussalam
 Context: Students match each scenario with the appropriate
greeting and response.
