To learn that we can be new place? It can be fun to travel, but someFmes it's also hard!
Today, we're going to hear about a man named Paul. Paul went on
missionaries, sharing long journeys, but he wasn’t just traveling for fun. Paul wanted to
God’s love wherever we tell as many people as he could about Jesus. He travelled to lots of
go. different ciFes, met new people, and shared the Good News
everywhere he went. Let’s find out where Paul travelled, who he
met, and how we can share the love of Jesus just like he did!"
2. PRAYER:
Start with a simple and short prayer. Encourage the children to repeat
a]er you. This provides a calm, focused start to the session.

3. INTERACTIVE STUDY TIME:
INTRODUCTION: "HAVE YOU EVER TAKEN A JOURNEY?"
• Start by engaging the children with a personal ques6on such as "Have you ever been on a long trip? What did
you bring with you?"
• Explain that Paul also took long journeys, but his purpose was to share something incredibly important—the
Good News about Jesus.
• Briefly introduce the concept of missionary work in a simple, relatable way.
VISUAL ACTIVITY: MAPPING PAUL’S MISSIONARY JOURNEYS
• Display a large map showing Paul's missionary routes. Use a child-friendly visual with colourful markers or pins.
• Briefly outline his travels and highlight key ci6es such as An6och, Ephesus, and Corinth.
• Invite a few children to come up and help trace Paul’s journeys on the map with string or s6ckers, emphasizing
the distance and dedica6on Paul had in spreading the Gospel.
• Provide small printouts of maps for children to follow along and mark Paul's journeys on their own.
"HOW DID PAUL TRAVEL?"
• Remind the children that Paul didn’t have cars, planes, or trains. He oUen walked or sailed on boats. Ask the
children to imagine the difficul6es of traveling in Paul’s 6me.
• Ask the children to draw how they imagine Paul might have travelled. Encourage them to think about what the
landscapes, ships, or roads might have looked like in ancient 6mes.
• Have a group discussion about the physical effort and commitment required for Paul to journey in such tough
condi6ons without the conveniences we have today.
INTERACTIVE STATIONS: PAUL’S ENCOUNTERS ALONG THE WAY
• Set up mini-sta6ons around the room, each represen6ng a city Paul visited (e.g., Athens, Ephesus, Rome).
At each sta6on, provide pictures, short descrip6ons, and simple facts about the city both in Paul's 6me and
today.
• At the Athens sta6on, show pictures of ancient Greek architecture and modern life in Athens. Offer a taste of
Greek food or show children a few Greek words to broaden their experience. Repeat for Ephesus (Turkey) and
Rome (Italy).
• At each sta6on, have the children say a short prayer for the people in that city—both in Paul’s 6me and today.
CONNECTING THE PAST AND PRESENT: MODERN MISSIONARIES
• Just as Paul travelled to share Jesus' message, modern missionaries today do the same in different parts of the
world.
• Show a missionary board or map highligh6ng current missionaries, with photos and short descrip6ons of their
work.
• AUer learning about each missionary, lead the children in praying for their safety, ministry, and the people they
serve. Let the children offer prayers aloud or quietly in their hearts for these modern-day missionaries.
DISCUSSION: BEING MISSIONARIES IN EVERYDAY LIFE
• Not all missionaries travel far. Mission work starts at home—helping neighbours, being kind, and sharing Jesus'
love with those around us.
• Ask the children how they can share God's love in their daily lives. Encourage ideas like being kind at school,
helping their families, or praying for friends.
• Hand out sheets of paper to each child and have them write or draw one way they can share Jesus’ love this
week. Then, fold the paper into "mission planes."
© 2024 truewaykids.com
• Have the children "fly" their mission planes into a designated area as a symbol of their commitment to put these
ac6ons into prac6ce.
CONCLUSION: SENDING THEM ON THEIR MISSION
• Reinforce the idea that just like Paul and today’s missionaries, they too are called to share the Good News.
• Close with a prayer, asking for God's help in sharing His love at home, at school, and in their community.

4. CRAFT ACTIVITY: MY MISSION ADVENTURE BAG
WHAT YOU NEED:
• Template pages
• Colour equipment
• SFckers
• Glue
WHAT TO DO:
1. Give each child the suitcase template. Have them colour and decorate their suitcase to make it unique,
using markers, crayons, and sFckers.
2. Once they have decorated the outside, help them cut, fold and glue the suitcase.
3. Provide the pre-made template images (Bible, le>er, map, etc.) for the children to colour and cut out.
4. Encourage the children to place the images inside their suitcase, along with their own drawings or ideas
of what they would pack for a missionary journey (e.g., food, clothes, or a favourite toy).
5. Once the suitcases are filled, let the children share with the group what they "packed" for their journey
to share God’s love.
TIPS:
• For younger children or those with fine motor difficulFes, pre-cut the template images or have larger
ones available.
• As they work, talk with the children about how Paul carried important things with him to share Jesus'
message, and how they can "pack" kindness, love, and the Good News in their own lives.
• Encourage creaFvity—children can draw anything they feel would help them share God’s love.

5. ACTIVITY STATION FREE PLAY:
For this part of the session, you can set up several acFvity staFons. This allows children to choose what they
want to do based on their interests, providing a variety of opFons that cater to different learning styles and
abiliFes.
Here are some ideas:
MISSIONARY MAP PUZZLE:
Print out a large map of the Mediterranean area where Paul travelled
or a world map and cut it into puzzle pieces and sca>er them around
the room.
Children work together to find the pieces and assemble the map.
As they complete the puzzle, talk about the key ciFes Paul visited, like
AnFoch, Corinth, and Ephesus, and the importance of these places in
his missionary work.
BUILDING BOATS:
Provide materials like cardboard, foam, or blocks and encourage
children to build their own boats.
Discuss how Paul o]en travelled by sea to reach faraway places.
A]er building, you can float the boats in a water table or a large
container, showing how Paul used boats to travel across the
Mediterranean.
LETTERS FROM PAUL:
Provide paper, envelopes, and crayons or markers.
Children can pretend to write a le>er, like Paul did, to one of the churches
he visited. Encourage them to draw pictures or write encouraging words
they think Paul might have shared by copying Bible verses.
A]erward, have them "deliver" their le>ers to different parts of the
room, symbolizing how Paul spread God’s message through his le>ers.
"MISSION AIRPLANE" LAUNCH:
Provide paper and markers for children to create their own "mission
airplanes." On the paper, have them write or draw how they can share
God’s love with others.
Once complete, let the children fold the papers into airplanes and
"launch" their missions by flying the planes across the room.
Talk about how, like Paul’s journeys, they are "sending out" the message
of Jesus.

STAMPED PASSPORTS:
Create small "passports" for each child with a blank page for each city
Paul visited (e.g., AnFoch, Athens, Corinth, Rome etc).
As children visit different acFvity staFons from the lesson, they get a
stamp or sFcker in their passport.
At the end, ask children to share their favourite city and what they
learned about Paul’s journey there.
PRAYING FOR THE NATIONS:
Set up a globe or world map at a staFon. Provide small sFcky notes or
sFckers.
Encourage children to choose a country, place a sFcker on it, and say a
short prayer for that place and the missionaries working there today.
Discuss how just like Paul prayed for the people he met; we can pray for
people all over the world today.
MAKE PURPLE DYES:
Set up a cra] staFon where children can learn about Lydia, a seller of
purple cloth whom Paul met on one of his journeys.
Provide white cloth or paper towels and mix natural or arFficial purple
dyes (using beet juice, grape juice, or paint). Let the children dip the cloth
into the dye and watch it change colour.
While the children work, explain how purple dye was rare and valuable
in Paul’s Fme, and how Lydia was important because she was one of the
first people to believe in Jesus in Philippi.
