Threads Labeling Examples

Originality
Example Area:
All elements created by post author

Threads
In this example, the post was found on another
Twitter platform (Twitter). However, it was posted by the
same author, which was confirmed via the username.
Because this is considered a cross-post, we can
consider this original to the post author

Labels Selected:

Q2: All elements created by post author

Post Link
Example Area:
All elements created by post author

In this example, we see a dashcam video. When

side-searching, we find the same video but posted
after this post was created. Because we cannot find
the same video posted before, and there is no other
indicators that this video has been taken from
somewhere else, we can assume it is original to the
post author

Labels Selected:

Q2: All elements created by post author

Post Link
Example Area:
All elements created by post author

In this example, we see an original graphic by the post

author, and we cannot find the same caption or
media posted elsewhere other than cross-posted
from the same post author. We consider this original
and select the following labels:

All elements created by post author

Threads Threads Search In this example, we have found an exact copy of the
post being reviewed. However, we can see that the
post being reviewed was posted before the post
found when searching on Threads. Since we cannot
find copies of the text on Threads or elsewhere
posted prior to this, we can consider this original and
select:

Labels Selected:

Q2: All elements created by post author

Post Link
Example Area:
Third party elements (photos, links, videos, quotes etc.) that feature the poster or the poster’s work

In this example, we see a photo of the post author

taken by someone else (📸). Because this is a photo
that features the post author, we select the following
labels:

Labels Selected:

Q2: Third party elements (photos, links, videos,

quotes etc.) that feature the poster or the poster’s
work

Post Link
Example Area:
Videos, images, links identical to those previously uploaded by other users on Threads or other platforms

In this example, we see a video from a news channel,

quotes from the video in the text, and additional
commentary added by the post author.

Screenshots or clips from the news, tv shows, movies,

etc are considered previously uploaded content on other
platforms (TV). Since the video has inherent credit by
showing the news station logo/name, this is considered
source credit

The last sentence in the text meets the criteria for added
commentary.

Labels Selected:

Q2: Videos, images, links identical to those previously

uploaded by other users on Threads or other platforms

Q3: Source credit, new additions

Threads
In this example, we see a meme posted, with source
credit. The meme is found on Pentera’s website via
reverse Google Image search. The post text is not
considered additional commentary since it is just
giving credit. As a result, the following labels are
selected:

Website Labels Selected:

Q2: Videos, images, links identical to those

previously uploaded by other users on Threads or
other platforms

Q3: Source credit, no additions

Post Link
Example Area:
Videos, images, links identical to those previously uploaded by other users on Threads or other platforms

In this example, there is a screenshot taken from an

unknown source. Screenshots of posts are
automatically considered not created by the poster.
This would be an example of a previously uploaded
piece of content

In this example, the post author does add additional

commentary to their post.

Labels Selected:

Q2: Videos, images, links identical to those

previously uploaded by other users on Threads or
other platforms

Q3: No credit, new additions

Post Link
Example Area:
Videos, images, links identical to those previously uploaded by other users on Threads or other platforms

In this example, we see a quote from Lebron James

and a video of Lebron James saying the quote. In the
post text, we can see original commentary about the
quote and credit (📽) to the owner of the video.

We can consider this video uploaded by another user,

with credit, with additions

Labels Selected:

Q2: Videos, images, links identical to those

previously uploaded by other users on Threads or
other platforms

Q3: Source credit, new additions

Post Link
Example Area:
Videos, images, links identical to those previously uploaded by other users on Threads or other platforms

In this example, the post author has posted a BBC

article and copied the headline into the post text.
Because the only text is a copy of the headline, it is
not considered additional commentary. Linking to
the source of the text is considered credit

Labels Selected:

Q2: Videos, images, links identical to those

previously uploaded by other users on Threads or
other platforms

Q3: Source credit, no additions

Post Link
Example Area:
Identical combination of a video or image with text previously uploaded by other users on Threads or other
platforms.
Threads In this example, we see that the photos are exact
matches. We also see the the caption is a
near-match. Because the caption meets the 2/3
criteria for text matching, we also consider it a
Tumblr match. Note that the Tumblr post was posted before
the post being reviewed. With both the text and
media matching, we select the following labels:

Labels Selected:

Q2: Identical combination of a video or image with

text previously uploaded by other users on Threads
or other platforms.

Q3: No credit, no additions

Post Link
Example Area:
High volume of text matches text previously uploaded by users on other platforms

Thread In this example, we see that the post being reviewed

is an exact copy of a post on Twitter, which was
created before the post being reviewed. As a result,
the following labels should be selected:

Twitter Labels Selected:

Q2: High volume of text matches text previously

uploaded by users on other platforms

Q3: No credit, no additions

Post Link
Example Area:
High volume of text matches text previously uploaded by users on Threads, no credit

Thread In this example, by searching on Threads for the post

text, we find (nearly) exact copies of the post text
posted before the post being reviewed, indicating it
is not original to the post author. There is also no
credit. Because of this, the following label is selected:
